AGENDA: Jurnal Analisis Gender dan Agama Jurnal Agenda: Jurnal Analisis Gender dan Agama with 2723-3278 (Online) and 2615-1502 (Print) is aimed at spreading the research results conducted by academicians, researchers, and practitioners in the field of gender and religion. The journal is published periodically twice a year, i.e., every June (first edition) and December (second edition). Abstract

The Lintang tribal people who are predominantly embracing Islam, with a patrilineal family system, have a different understanding of women who are forbidden to marry, therefore this paper reveals the understanding of the Intang tribe community about women who are haram to marry from the perspective of Islamic law. In terms of description, the writer finds that the understanding of the Lintang tribe about women who are haram to marry is in line with the maqashid syri'ah, namely in order to maintain the safety of religion, reason and safety of soul even though there are differences from those in the books of fiqh. The indication of maintaining the three matters of maqashid syari'ah is maintaining the marriage guardian order, maintaining the offspring to be physically and mentally healthy, intelligent both socially and spiritually and not physically or mentally defective. Therefore the understanding as found in the Lintang Tribe community needs to be preserved because it is part of the Islam of the Archipelago

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to find out and to analyze causes of the increasing cases of marital dispensation on women’s right. Field research with normative juridical research are used. It was done by examining several decisions on marital dispensation cases at Batusangkar Religious Court. Data source are derived from the ones who conducted marital dispensation during interview session, and secondary data are from various literature review such as related books and journals. The results reflect causes of the increasing cases of marital dispensation is promiscuity, adultery, already having children, economic factors and poverty. The causes of the increasing cases of marital dispensation has an impact on the rights of women in the reproductive sector, because they are married at a young age. Therefore, the marriage dispensation regulation needs to be reviewed because it has not caused a deterrent effect by imposing sanctions on the person who conducted marital dispensation.

Abstract

The role of women in Minangkabau plays a strategic place in fostering people, including in younger generation in "tahfiz’s house" activities. Problem that usually arises is the authority of women in doing activities outside, especially in the Nagari Tanjung Barulak. The women in Nagari Tanjung Barulak are not only active at home as Limpapeh Rumah Gadang who act as mothers for the children but also as "mothers" for children in Nagari. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The techniques of Data collection are interviews, observation and documentation. The result of research shows that women has vital roles in stir Tahfiz's house in Nagari Tanjuang Barulak, Batipuh District. It means there was no contradiction in fostering people in terms of religion. In terms of Minangkabau customs, the role of women also has its own place, and can play a role in two functions, namely the function as mother or Bundo Kanduang in the community and family as well as Bundo Kanduang in the midst of the people.

Abstract

This quantitative descriptive field study aims to determine the level of teachers’ anxiety in facing the Covid-19 pandemic from a gender perspective. It is urgently needed to be conducted since teachers has dual roles during the Covid-19 pandemic, in which they have to be educators as well as parents who help children in online learning process. At the same time, the learning system keeps changing, lack of students’ awareness in implementing health protocols, and many students who do not do school tasks are some reasons why teachers have anxiety in the pandemic Covid-19 era. The population of this study were 39 civil servant teachers at MTsN 2 Pesisir Selatan consists of 30 female teachers and 9 male teachers. Samples were taken by using total sampling technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire developed from the Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HRS-A). The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that female teachers had high anxiety level with a percentage of 62.76%. Meanwhile, male teachers had medium anxiety level with a percentage of 57.82%. It reflects that female teachers had higher anxiety level than male teachers by a difference of 4.94%.

Abstract

This research is a comparative study with quantitative methods. This study aims to: 1) find out whether there are differences in mathematical connection abilities between male and female students, 2) find out whether there are differences in math anxiety between male and female students, 3) find out whether there is an interaction between math anxiety and gender with mathematical connection ability. Data were obtained from anxiety questionnaire sheets and mathematical connection ability tests. Then it was analyzed by two-way analysis of variance and the Mann-Whitney test. The results show that: 1) There is no difference in mathematical connection ability between male and female students, 2) There is a difference in math anxiety between male and female students, 3) There is no interaction between math anxiety and gender on mathematical connection ability.

Abstract

Early childhood education is now an obligation to prepare children for further education. Education in primary schools has levels that must be taken first with the aim that the child is ready to attend lessons first, such as education in kindergarten and early childhood education. This study aims to look at human freedom in undergoing early childhood education and the values contained in education. The theory of freedom is used to examine the harmony between the spirit of preparing for education with the pure value of human freedom, so that it can be said that early childhood education is a freedom. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data analysis was carried out in a holistic manner to achieve an exploration of the theory of freedom contained in early childhood education. The results of this study prove that early childhood education can be said that the implementation of freedom will support the true free human being, that is, free from ignorance and backwardness.

Abstract

This study is aimed at describing parents’ symbolic behavior in educating children. This behavior is displayed symbolically in the form of parenting. Parenting is carried out are in a perspective of gender: boys and girls. Data were collected through literature review from various sources based on experts’ judgements and in accordance with public opinion of educating children in a family. The result shows that in educating children, both parents are obliged to provide positive symbolic behavior because it will have an impact on children behavior as reactions and consumption in satisfying impulses in the form of responses of parents’ symbolic behavior in educating children.

Abstract

Women in Minangkabau traditional culture are Limpepeh Rumah Nan Gadang which are symbols of the existence of harmonization of households; guarantee of the quality of human resources both in terms of inheritance and descendants, and guarantee of knowledge and availability of family food. This research is conducted in the Minangkabau community within Luhak Nan Tuo area, particularly in the Tanah Datar Regency community. By using the interview method, it reflects three stages of women’s position in Minangkabau descriptively. These stages are (1) in decision making to determine assets in the family economy, (2) in the working distribution, and (3) in managing family finances. From the result of the study, it can be seen that the position of women in making decisions is still in the second position even though in the end the women who act as bundo kanduang are still being asked for opinions in terms of protecting reproductive health which indicated in decreasing point. There has been a change in working distribution in which the women are allowed to work not only in domestic sectors but also in public sectors. However, women’s position in managing family finances are getting decreased. This is as a result of culture and its values in structural, solidarity, existence of the society. Bundo kanduang institution in Nagari is the basis for empirical empowerment and local wisdom on women's rights. It is just a sub-section of the institution that deals with women's, social, children, youth and women's issues. The social reality where the domestication of discrimination has implications for women. There is still a strong gender bias of community leaders. At least, there are female figures who are able to act as agents for women's empowerment in cultural studies.

Abstract

Social attribution can appear spontaneously or through long considerations and thinking process. Factors influencing attribution is the attribution style; planned and unplanned attribution. This kind of behavior can arise due to emotional factors. Meanwhile, children's social attributions arise because of stereotypes or labeling that have been attached to society, thus it has an impact on children's understanding of gender since they were born. The existence of social construction regarding gender roles cannot be separated from how the paradigm views the labeling of the characteristics of women and men is. In children, this social attribution usually occurs because of the stereotype of gender roles taught to children. This stereotype is a labeling that begins based on the perception or point of view of a person. While gender role stereotypes are part of the discussion about gender "sex", namely social expectations that define how men and women think, feel, and act, which are part of the product of the stereotype itself.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan kemampuan penyelesaian soal cerita matematika siswa ditinjau dari perspektif gender. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMPN 2 Tigo Lurah kelas VII semester 2 yang berjumlah 16 orang siswa. Materi bahasan yang digunakan adalah aritmatika sosial. Metode pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah latihan soal. Teknik analisa data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan melihat hasil latihan soal siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika, kemudian dikelompokkan dalam kategori rendah, sedang, dan tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata siswa laki-laki 82 dan nilai rata-rata siswa perempuan 75. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah kemampuan penyelesaian soal cerita siswa laki-laki lebih baik dari pada siswa perempuan.
