Abstract

Pemahaman masyarakat tentang Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) Kelistrikan di Desa Sandik, Kecamatan Batulayar, masih tergolong rendah. Masyarakat cenderung mengabaikan potensi bahaya dari instalasi listrik yang tidak aman, seperti risiko kebakaran, sengatan listrik, dan ledakan. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, dilakukan sosialisasi dan edukasi mengenai K3 Kelistrikan kepada masyarakat setempat. Kegiatan ini meliputi pengenalan potensi bahaya, cara pengecekan dan pemeliharaan instalasi listrik, serta pelatihan pemasangan instalasi listrik yang sesuai dengan standar Persyaratan Umum Instalasi Listrik (PUIL) 2011. Hasil monitoring dan evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap keselamatan kelistrikan setelah dilakukan edukasi. Dari 30 responden yang terlibat, 70% menyatakan setuju atau sangat setuju bahwa edukasi tersebut penting dan perlu ditingkatkan. Namun, masih terdapat 13,33% responden yang belum sepenuhnya memahami pentingnya keselamatan kelistrikan, sehingga diperlukan upaya edukasi yang lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat, namun pendampingan berkelanjutan diperlukan untuk memastikan keselamatan kelistrikan di Desa Sandik tetap terjaga.

Abstract

Pantai Sekotong adalah destinasi wisata yang terletak di Lombok Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Daerah ini memiliki keunggulan wisata bahari yang memiliki terumbu karang dan kehidupan laut yang beragam. Demi menunjang kegiatan pariwisata, pemerintah Provinsi NTB membangun Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) yang terletak di daerah Sekotong. SMK Negeri 2 Sekotong merupakan salah satu sekolah vokasional dengan visi mencetak wirausaha khususnya di bidang pariwisata. Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Mataram bekerjasama dengan SMK Negeri 2 Sekotong melakukan pelatihan komunikasi bisnis sebagai bagian dari program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM). Tujuan pelatihan ini untuk membantu siswa dan siswinya dalam keterampilan berkomunikasi baik dengan wisatawan asing maupun domestik secara efektif, baik secara lisan maupun tulisan. Peserta kegiatan PKM melibatkan 30 orang siswa dan siswi dari jurusan Perhotelan, Tata Boga, dan Usaha Perjalanan Wisata. Kegiatan PKM ini diawali dengan studi pendahuluan, pelatihan, evaluasi, dan pelaporan. Di akhir pelatihan, anggota kegiatan PKM menyebarkan angket untuk mengukur pemahaman siswa dan siswi SMK Negeri 2 Sekotong setelah kegiatan. Hasil dari kegiatan PKM yaitu siswa dan siswi mendapatkan pemahaman yang baik dalam berkomunikasi secara lisan dan tulisan lalu mampu mengaplikasikannya dalam korespodensi surat menyurat dan penyusuan proposal bisnis.

Abstract

Facial scrubs are a part of skin care that is often done by mothers and young women. In line with back to nature awareness, body scrubs use ingredients from natural sources. This community service activity aims to provide counseling and training on the importance of skin care and making facial scrubs from soursop leaves. Soursop leaves contain bioactive ingredients which are antioxidant and antibacterial. The activity was carried out in Tanjung Atap village, Tanjung Batu sub-district, Ogan Ilir district and was attended by 26 participants. The soursop plant is easy to find in the village growing in the yard. Activity participants play an active role in activities both in counseling and training. Evaluations are carried out before and after the activity to determine the level of participants' understanding of the counseling and training provided. Apart from that, an organoleptic test was carried out to determine the level of acceptance of the body scrub product. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in public understanding of the importance of maintaining healthy skin and making body scrubs from soursop leaves. The increase in participants' understanding was 93.03% from not understanding or not understanding. The organoleptic test results showed that 85.36% of participants said they really liked it and 14.64% said they liked the facial scrub product made from soursop leaves. With this service activity, people are increasingly aware of the importance of skin care using natural resources. Scrubs made from natural ingredients are safe, cheap and avoid the side effects of chemicals.

Abstract

An unhealthy lifestyle can lead to increased production of free radicals as a byproduct of metabolism. This condition can be mitigated by antioxidants. Rhizophora mucronata offers various health benefits, including its role as an antioxidant. However, public utilization of Rhizophora mucronata remains limited. To enhance its appeal, Rhizophora mucronata was processed into mangrove leaf cookies, making it more convenient for consumption. The objective of this activity was to optimize the utilization of mangrove plants. The activity was conducted on December 20, 2024, at the Meninting Village Hall, Batulayar Subdistrict, West Lombok Regency, with 20 participants. The implementation method included training sessions comprising the delivery of materials on mangrove plants and the process of making mangrove cookies, followed by hands-on cookie-making training. The participants were highly enthusiastic throughout the program, and the material was well understood, as evidenced by the quiz results provided during the session.

Abstract

Dandruff and hair loss are conditions that are often experienced by the community, especially mothers and young women. Various products are available on the market to overcome the problem of dandruff and hair loss, but at a relatively expensive. Many traditional medicinal plants are known to be effective as anti-dandruff. One of them is sirsak leaves (Annona muticata L.). For this reason, it is necessary to conduct socialization to the community, especially mothers and young women residents of RW 05 Indralaya Mulya, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, about the use of traditional medicinal plants to overcome dandruff and hair loss and introduce a simple formulation for making anti-dandruff hair cream. The results of the activity showed that the community was very familiar with the A. muricata plant, but did not know that A. muricata leaves could be used as an anti-dandruff ingredient. The community felt that they had gained practical knowledge about how to make anti-dandruff cream from traditional medicinal plants. This activity has increased the insight and knowledge of the community, especially residents of RW 05 Indralaya Mulya about the use of Sirsak leaves and making anti-dandruff cream.

Abstract

Economic development in the dumpling chips business requires cooperation from the community and related agencies. One of the efforts made by the community service team is training in pangsit chip production. This is necessary because small businesses in Lendang Nangka Village face various challenges in developing their businesses. Production is still carried out traditionally, which has an impact on the lack of uniformity in product quality. One of the main challenges is the limited knowledge and skills needed to produce quality and consistent products. The purpose of Community Service is to strengthen small entrepreneurs in Lendang Nangka Village by improving production skills so that they can make good quality and consistent products. The activity method through training carried out by the Community Service Team and the Cooperatives and SMEs Service, covers aspects of improving technical skills in the production process. Through the production process, training is provided on how to enhance the quality of the product through the use of better techniques and raw materials. The results of community service give an understanding and skills related to pangsit chips raw materials and how to print, fry, dry, and package products. This can be used as a guideline to ensure that the pangsit chips produced are of good quality and can be stored properly. By overcoming existing challenges and utilizing existing opportunities, this program is expected to have a positive impact on regional economic development. Some things related to packaging are new knowledge for pangsit chip artisans. Pangsit chips artisans are interested in using packaging other than plastic to maintain product quality and use packaging for various sizes of their products.

Abstract

This paper discusses the use of plastic bottle waste as a hydroponic planting medium with a wick system in South Korleko Village. The wick hydroponic system is a simple method that does not require a pump or electricity, making it more energy-efficient and easy to apply. This research aims to introduce hydroponic farming methods with low cost and easy-to-find materials, as well as increase public understanding of hydroponic plant cultivation. The methods used include socialization, training, and hands-on practice in making hydroponic wicks using used plastic bottles and flannel as nutrient absorption axes. Results showed that this system was effective for growing lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.), with good growth in about six weeks. By using AB mix nutrient solution, plants obtain enough nutrients to support their growth. The implementation of this system is expected to help the community in increasing vegetable production, reducing plastic waste, and providing a more efficient alternative to farming.

Abstract

Stunting is a health problem caused by chronic or recurrent malnutrition during pregnancy and childhood. The prevalence of stunting in West Nusa Tenggara is higher than the national average, which was 80.8% in 2018. In 2023, there were 497 cases of stunting in Aik Darek village, Batukliang, Central Lombok. To overcome this problem, a stunting prevention socialization activity was held on 10 January 2025 in Aik Darek village, Batukliang, Central Lombok. This activity was attended by 18 participants, consisting of PKK women, pregnant women, and 7 posyandu cadres. The method used was lectures and interactive discussions on the importance of nutrition in pregnancy, exclusive breastfeeding, and consumption of blood supplement tablets. The evaluation of the activity showed that the participants' understanding became better after the discussion process, marked by the participants being able to answer the questions asked by the resource person correctly. This activity is expected to support the government's efforts to reduce stunting rates and improve the quality of Indonesia's future generations

Abstract

Program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Mataram di Desa Aik Darek, Kecamatan Batukliang, Lombok Tengah bertujuan menerapkan konsep ekonomi hijau untuk menyeimbangkan pertumbuhan ekonomi dan kelestarian lingkungan. Kegiatan dilakukan selama 23 Desember 2024 hingga 7 Februari 2025 melalui pendekatan partisipatif bersama masyarakat, pemerintah desa, dan mitra terkait. Fokus program meliputi pemanfaatan limbah ternak menjadi pupuk kompos, pembuatan bak sampah bambu, penghijauan, edukasi lingkungan, penguatan UMKM berbasis bisnis hijau, dan sosialisasi pencegahan stunting. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat dalam pengelolaan limbah organik, kebersihan lingkungan, serta pengembangan produk lokal. Distribusi pupuk kompos mengurangi ketergantungan pada pupuk kimia, sementara promosi UMKM melalui media sosial memperluas akses pasar. Kendala seperti cuaca dan keterbatasan fasilitas diatasi melalui kolaborasi aktif. Kegiatan ini berdampak positif dan berpotensi berkelanjutan jika didukung oleh pemerintah desa dan Karang Taruna secara berkesinambungan

Abstract

Learning and research in higher education have experienced many challenges and problems, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic. However, these challenges have been overcome using online learning platforms such as Moodle University, Zoom, Google Meetings, and Microsoft Teams. However, this has not been fully resolved in the field of research. It is sometimes complicated for research teams to work together on research. Research records or research logbooks are not quickly sent via email. In addition, research records, such as computer programming, require direct handling of the program that has been created without copying and pasting. Mathematics research also requires fast and dynamic access. Google Colab is a Google collaboration that provides free, cloud-based tools for education and research. Google Colab is particularly eye-catching because it gives users free access to GPU services as a computing backend that can be used for 12 hours. If you want to learn Python and machine learning, buying a computer with an additional GPU is unnecessary. The training process in these two fields is tricky, especially if the equipment is inadequate. Mathematics lecturers in Palembang need assistance because lecturers' knowledge about Google Colab is still very low. The implementation team conducted a mentoring activity on using Google Colab for machine learning and Python through the Zoom platform. The activity consists of several stages: explanation, tutorial, and practice.
