Abstract

In the current era of globalization, loving one's motherland is necessary. The reality on the ground demonstrates that student nationalism frequently encounters unfavorable dynamics. Some students did not participate solemnly in the flag ceremony, did not listen to the national anthem, or speak Indonesian correctly in their daily interactions. Enhancing character education in extracurricular activities is one of the ways that these students' love for their country is shaped. This study aimed to learn more about SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta's dance extracurricular efforts in developing the character of love for the motherland. This study employed a qualitative case study: observation, documentation, and interview-based data collection methods. Principals of schools, teachers of art and culture, dance coaches, and two SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta students served as the research participants. This study examines how extracurricular dance instruction shapes a person's love of country. Data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion were all used as data analysis techniques. The findings show that the DIY Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2011 can be used to understand the extracurricular role of dance in forming the character of loving the homeland by introducing and providing an understanding related to the formation of that character through art. Facilities, adequate infrastructure, student enthusiasm, and school support all contribute to developing the character trait of loving one's country. In addition, events and circumstances, such as PPKM, that prohibit these activities from going as they should are the elements that impede pupils from developing a love for their country.

Abstract

This research focuses on the traditional Dayak belief systems, including their views on ancestor worship, religious systems, and worldviews. The Dayak's understanding of their belief system stems from imagination and attempts to relate their experiences to a greater power that governs the universe. The important thing about ancestral beliefs and this religious system is that nature does not exist on its own but that something has created it. They call this power Tamai Tingai, which is the center of their religious experience. Religious life is a theophanic experience that influences all Dayak human life. This paper aims to describe and analyze the concept of ancestral beliefs and religious systems as a way of life for the traditional Dayak community. This study uses phenomenological analysis and critical reading of the text using qualitative research methods. The research findings show that the Dayak people realize that religious expression through ancestor worship and religious systems is justified by human experience. In situations of helplessness, humans seek help and find it by connecting themselves to a transcendent existence.

Abstract

The Kinipan Indigenous Forest is both a livelihood and a vital habitat for indigenous peoples, animals, and plants. However, the presence of corporates has caused issues that have upset the equilibrium of the Kinipan Customary Forest. This research seeks to analyze the pattern of interactions that led to the admission of corporations into customary forests and to identify the resistance of the indigenous Kinipan people. Qualitative approach was employed, including observation collection techniques and data documentation from a Watchdoc Documentary-uploaded documentary video titled "KINIPAN," which is supported by literature studies. The findings of this study indicate the existence of a power relationship between the government and the company regarding the regulation of mining permits and mining roads in the Kinipan Customary Forest, which is carried out without the community's participation, thereby causing social conflict between third parties. As a result of this conflict, indigenous peoples formed multiple communities to defend the forest, including the forester's community, the Dayak Tomun community, and the Borneo Red Army.

Indonesian worldview incorporates Godhead, humanity, unity, democracy, and social justice from communal life. Youth are alienated from Pancasila. They prefer modern, creative, and innovative social values. Exploring this to reinforce Pancasila ideals for youth is important. This study examines five interconnected helixes to reinforce Pancasila. The five helixes are education, economy, society, politics, and environment. This research used descriptive qualitative methods. Research data came from a literature review. Results suggest that the Quintuple Helix strengthens Pancasila for millennials. The quintuple helix interaction in Indonesia describes how academics, government, economic actors, society, and the natural environment promote innovation. Abstract

This research explores the effectiveness of Instagram and TikTok as aids for enhancing students' English vocabulary acquisition. Instagram has instructional accounts that routinely publish English learning videos and introduce new vocabulary. TikTok offers exciting content that can aid in vocabulary acquisition but consumes significant data due to its video-centric design. The research investigated vocabulary learning processes and methods in both platforms in depth using a qualitative methodology and a case study design. Six English majors from a private university in South Borneo were asked to participate in this study because they had mastered English vocabulary through autonomous Instagram and TikTok use. Students saved vocabulary-related photos from these platforms to review them later. In addition, participants used the taught language in their regular activities to improve recall and employed mobile phone notes for additional practice. The urge to keep up with popular slang on Instagram and TikTok significantly motivates students to acquire new vocabulary. This indirect pursuit of slang language helps their speaking skills and reading, writing, and listening comprehension. This study highlights the importance of Instagram and TikTok in enhancing students' English vocabulary. Students can improve their language competence by utilizing educational accounts and enjoying these platforms' dynamic content. These findings have substantial implications for educators and students in the digital age who seek automated approaches to enhance language learning.

Abstract

The existence of humans as social beings is represented through the formation of social groups as an effort to maintain and develop their lives. However, instead of forming harmony and balance, humans also often commit social deviations, one of which is through bullying behavior. Bullying behavior does not only occur in the work environment but has entered the school environment. One of them is in South Korea, where bullying rates and suicide rates are both high, showing that there is a relevance between bullying rates and suicide rates. Now, this phenomenon is constructed through drama as a reflection of social reality. The focus of this research is to find out how the practice and relevance of bullying behavior and suicide cases in the 2015 school drama. The research method used is Ferdinand De Saussure's semiotic analysis method which focuses on discussing the concept of signifiers and signifieds. The data studied are pieces of dialogue, images, and sound. In this study the authors used Emile Durkheim's Suicide theory. The findings in this study are that there is a relevance between bullying practices and suicide cases. This is also exacerbated by the finding that victims of bullying often do not have adequate social groups. Because the more individuals have sufficient social groups, then this is capital in maintaining their lives from other social groups. The location of the social group greatly influences a person's decision to commit suicide. Thus, the social group has an important position for a person as part of his efforts to defend himself and maintain his self-esteem and the harmony of social relations.

Abstract

Media, especially films, have an important role in the construction of people with disabilities. This research examines Tyrion Lannister as a person with a disability represented and constructed in the Game of Thrones series. Tyrion Lannister is interesting because he is the only character born with a disability. This condition differs from others with perfect physical conditions in real life. In this series, Tyrion Lannister shows the body as a social sign. He is represented as a realistic and complex character, not inspiring, not evil, or selling mercy, as the portrayal often used by the media in portraying people with disability. This research uses a qualitative approach with a multimodal critical discourse analysis methodology by Gunther Kress and Theo van Leeuwen. The data is based on seasons and episodes of the Game of Thrones, which relate to Tyrion Lannister as people with a disability, literature study, and documentation. The research found that the representation of Tyrion Lannister is realistic and complex, showing the prejudice and social stigma he has received as a person with a dwarf body.

Abstract

The development of science and technology has led to significant changes, shifting global supply chains into the digital and virtual realm. One of the technological advancements that offers new business opportunities, particularly in the banking sector, is e-banking, which transforms the way transactions are conducted, making them cashless. However, substantial progress in digital banking technology also brings high risks, encompassing both tangible and intangible losses, significantly if customer rights are weakened due to the bank's violations. Currently, the ITE Law and the Personal Data Protection Law in Indonesia are inadequate for safeguarding customers in the context of e-banking services. Therefore, this research aims to achieve customer security and protection from personal data leakage and fraud risks by implementing the Data Protection Authority (DPA). This approach also encourages banks to take responsibility for their actions and provides a strong legal basis for customers to seek compensation for potential losses. To address this issue, our research employs a normative juridical research method, which examines legal norms, principles, and doctrines related to protecting customers' data in digital-based banking transactions. The Data Protection Authority (DPA) is proposed as a crucial legal protection concept for safeguarding customer personal data, playing a vital role in preventing cybercrime and the misuse of personal information. With the establishment of a comprehensive DPA, law enforcement against violations in digital-based banking transactions will become more effective, preserving an individual's freedom of expression and supporting the mission of sustainable development.
