Abstract

The imbalance between the availability of health facilities, service needs, and spatial inequality in the distribution of puskesmas (community health centers) can generate various adverse impacts for a region. This study aimed to analyze the spatial distribution of puskesmas in Pasaman Barat Regency using a Geographic Information System (GIS) to determine their distribution pattern and service coverage levels. A descriptive quantitative method with a spatial analysis approach was employed, with total sampling of all puskesmas in Pasaman Barat Regency. The distribution pattern was analyzed using the nearest neighbor analysis (NNA) method in ArcGIS software, with the nearest neighbor ratio, p-value, and z-score as key indicators. The results showed that the distribution pattern of puskesmas in Pasaman Barat Regency is uniform (dispersed), as indicated by a nearest neighbor ratio of 1.271242, a p-value of 0.020308, and a z-score of 2.320612. These values indicate that puskesmas are not clustered but are instead relatively evenly distributed across the entire area of Pasaman Barat Regency. In conclusion, this uniform distribution pattern reflects efforts to equalize the provision of health facilities, thereby potentially supporting improved equity in access to and coverage of health services for the community in Pasaman Barat Regency.

Abstract

Although play-based learning has received considerable attention in early childhood education research, studies that specifically address the development of integrative numeracy games to support children’s recognition of numbers 1–20 remain limited. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Edufun Number Race game in stimulating numeracy literacy among children aged 5–6 years. A quantitative approach was employed using a research and development (R&D) design with the 4D model, involving 94 children selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using expert validation questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, observation, and documentation, and were then analyzed using Aiken’s V index and descriptive statistics. The results showed that the medium achieved validity values of ≥ 0.80 and was able to enhance children’s ability to recognize numbers, count, and match numerical symbols. These findings contribute to strengthening constructivist theory and play-based learning approaches, while underscoring the importance of interactive media in numeracy instruction. The study concludes by encouraging educators to integrate educational games into classroom practice as a strategy to stimulate numeracy literacy, with implications for enriching Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) literature and opening avenues for further experiment-based research.

Abstract

Although the urgency of strategic leadership in building supply chain agility in the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) era has been widely recognized, practice in the field still reveals weak strategic governance and delayed adoption of digital technologies among partners, creating a significant gap between industrial agility demands and managerial practices that remain focused solely on efficiency. This Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) community engagement program aimed to strengthen partners’ understanding and awareness of strategic leadership mediated by dynamic capabilities and digital transformation in fostering supply chain agility. The approach employed participatory dissemination involving the community of formal workers in Kawasan Industri Kendal (KIK), small and medium industries (IKM), university students, and the general public, with evaluation focusing on participants’ cognitive understanding and satisfaction levels. The results of the PKM indicated a significant increase in partners’ understanding of strategic leadership, dynamic capabilities, digital transformation, and supply chain agility, accompanied by a high level of participant satisfaction with both the content and the program design. These findings affirm that strategic leadership cannot stand alone without the support of digital technologies, as digital technologies play a role in breaking through information silos, accelerating information flows, and reducing ripple effects in the supply chain, thereby requiring cross-functional integration and real-time information systems to minimize the reinforcement of information silos. The strength of this PKM lies in the implementation of a systematic program design that generated tangible impact in raising partners’ awareness, whereas its main limitations include low participation from entrepreneurial groups and the still-limited technical capacity of online platforms. The recommendations proposed include expanding outreach activities, providing more flexible participation channels, and strengthening the sustainability of PKM through digital community-based mentoring so that the transformation toward strategic leadership and agile supply chains can be accelerated in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The diagnostic process for laptop damage in computer service centers often requires considerable time due to the similarity of symptoms across different types of damage and the reliance on technicians’ experiential knowledge, while studies that specifically compare the performance of Forward Chaining and Backward Chaining in web-based expert systems within local service contexts remain limited. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of these two inference methods in an expert system for detecting laptop damage at Warrior Computer Mendalo Jambi. A quantitative approach with a case study and system testing design was employed, involving 30 real laptop damage cases as the test sample. Data were collected through observation of the service process, technician interviews for rule-base construction, and case documentation, then analyzed by comparing the diagnostic accuracy of the system with the technicians’ diagnoses. The results indicate that the Forward Chaining method achieved an accuracy of 86.70% (26 out of 30 cases matched), whereas Backward Chaining achieved an accuracy of 80.00% (24 out of 30 cases matched). These findings extend the understanding of rule-based reasoning applications in laptop damage diagnosis and demonstrate that Forward Chaining is more suitable for symptom-based input, while Backward Chaining is more effective for verifying damage hypotheses. The study concludes that integrating both methods in an expert system is crucial to enhance the flexibility of the diagnostic process and support more efficient technician services in computer repair centers.

Abstract

The oil and gas sector is one of the main pillars of the national economy and is currently facing the challenge of declining production, making the enhancement of human resource (HR) quality in the upstream oil and gas industry a strategic necessity. The core problem lies in the absence of optimal synergy between the oil and gas industry and the education sector, as reflected in the mismatch between higher education graduates’ competencies and industry needs, including in the South Sumatra Region (Sumatera Bagian Selatan, Sumbagsel), which comprises South Sumatra, Jambi, Bengkulu, and Bangka Belitung Provinces. This study aims to describe the establishment and role of Migas Center UNSRI as a form of community service in improving oil and gas HR competencies in the Sumbagsel region through collaboration between Universitas Sriwijaya and SKK Migas Sumbagsel. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to examine the implementation of community empowerment policies and the mapping of upstream oil and gas industry needs at the regional level. The findings show that the collaboration between Universitas Sriwijaya and SKK Migas Sumbagsel resulted in an agreement to establish Migas Center UNSRI as a center for research and training in oil and gas management in South Sumatra. The existence of Migas Center provides the education sector with a clearer picture of industry requirements, including the importance of establishing study centers and certification bodies located in Sumbagsel so that companies do not have to rely on facilities in Java. Conceptually, Migas Center UNSRI is positioned as the forerunner of the establishment of a Petroleum Engineering Department at Universitas Sriwijaya as well as an instrument for strengthening the capacity of local human resources in the oil and gas sector.

Abstract

The implementation of Teaching Factory in vocational education continues to develop as a strategy to bring the learning process closer to the world of work, but studies that specifically discuss its application in the Program Keahlian Agribisnis Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura at SMKN 7 Ende remain limited. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Teaching Factory, the synchronization of the curriculum with industry needs, the application of a block-system learning schedule, as well as its supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research participants consisted of the principal, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, the head of the expertise program, productive teachers, the Teaching Factory coordinator, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that the implementation of Teaching Factory had been carried out through the use of the school’s practice land, but it did not yet fully reflect the industrial work system. Curriculum synchronization with industry needs was also not yet optimal, and the learning schedule had not implemented a block system for practice. The main supporting factors included the availability of land, the support of the principal, the agrarian condition of the region, and students’ enthusiasm, while the inhibiting factors included limited industry partnerships, teacher competence, production facilities, and the absence of an established school production unit. These findings emphasize the importance of developing a Teaching Factory based on local potential in a more systematic and sustainable manner in order to strengthen the linkage between vocational education and industry needs.

Abstract

Although agrarian conflicts have been widely studied, the resolution of land disputes involving multiple actors and overlapping authority among institutions remains a complex issue, particularly in the case of Tanah Mbaon in Senggreng Village, Malang Regency. This study aims to analyze the role of ATR/BPN Kanwil Jawa Timur in resolving the conflict and to identify the approaches used. This study employed a qualitative approach with a literature study design and analysis of relevant documents. The results showed that ATR/BPN acted as a mediator and facilitator through legal-formal approaches, administrative audits, and participatory mediation involving various parties. These approaches proved capable of encouraging a conflict resolution process that was more systematic, inclusive, and just, although limitations of authority and multi-actor complexity remained the main challenges. These findings affirm that the resolution of agrarian conflicts requires the integration of legal and social approaches in a collaborative manner. This study contributes to strengthening the study of agrarian conflict resolution and underscores the importance of cross-institutional coordination and the development of participatory-based conflict resolution models.

Abstract

The cholera epidemic has remained a recurring public health challenge globally, across Africa, and in Zambia. This study aims to identify the gap between cultural and religious beliefs and practices and public health initiatives in cholera control, as well as to propose strategies for bridging this mitigation gap in response to the 2023–2025 cholera epidemic in Zambia. A qualitative case study design was employed, focusing on Lusaka District as the epicenter of the epidemic. The study involved 15 participants, consisting of five health workers, five religious leaders, and five community members from selected cholera-affected areas in Lusaka. Data were analyzed using the cultural theory of risk and religious coping theory. The findings indicate that cultural beliefs and practices, including communal eating, drinking, and gatherings as cultural observances, contributed to the spread of cholera. Religious beliefs and practices, such as reliance on healing through prayer over recommended medical treatment, the use of traditional medicine, and funeral rites involving the washing of corpses, also hindered efforts to combat the cholera epidemic in Lusaka District. The study concludes that addressing cholera requires stronger alignment between public health interventions and the cultural and religious contexts of affected communities. It recommends that religious organizations, faith communities, and health agencies work collaboratively to promote positive attitudes and behaviors that support epidemic mitigation. The study contributes by developing a Culture-Health Action-Based Framework to guide more culturally responsive and religion-sensitive cholera mitigation efforts.

Abstract

Jalan Usaha Tani (JUT) is an important infrastructure in supporting the smooth operation of agricultural activities and improving farmers’ welfare, but its provision in Nagari Lansek Kadok Barat has not been implemented optimally, thereby causing various problems for the farming community. This study aims to evaluate the policy for the provision of JUT based on Law Number 19 of 2013 and Minister of Agriculture Regulation Number 52 of 2018, to identify the inhibiting factors in its implementation, and to analyze its impact on fulfilling farmers’ needs and welfare. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research informants included nagari officials, subdistrict authorities, farmer groups, and farmers, while data analysis was conducted using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that, conceptually, the policy for the provision of JUT had been understood and planned participatively, but its implementation had not been optimal due to budget limitations, the priority use of village funds, the lack of support from the regency government, and dependence on external assistance. These conditions affected difficulties in agricultural activities, increased transportation costs, dependence on middlemen, and declining farmers’ income and welfare. These findings affirm that the effectiveness of the JUT provision policy requires increased budgetary support and strengthened intergovernmental synergy so that agricultural infrastructure development can be implemented more effectively and equitably to support farmers’ welfare.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged the use of audiovisual media as an innovative learning tool, one of which is through short films that are able to convey messages effectively and engagingly. However, students’ ability to produce short films remains limited, both in technical and conceptual aspects, so structured training is needed. This study aimed to describe the form of training used to improve the understanding, skills, and creativity of students at SMA Nurul Ikhlas, Tanah Datar Regency, in the process of making short films while also utilizing them as a medium for da’wah. This study used a participatory descriptive approach through the stages of surveying and training implementation. The survey stage was conducted to identify students’ interests and needs, while the implementation stage included lecture, question-and-answer, and practicum methods. The training materials covered determining story ideas, scriptwriting, the production process, and editing. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in students’ understanding of storytelling concepts, technical skills in film production, and creativity. In addition, this activity had a positive impact on the development of soft skills, such as teamwork, communication, and critical thinking. Students’ enthusiasm and motivation also increased, as reflected in their active involvement throughout the training process. Thus, short film production training can serve as an effective alternative to project-based learning, is relevant to educational needs in the digital era, and has the potential to function as a creative and educational da’wah medium for the younger generation.
