Abstract

Air pollution is one of the important environmental issues because it has broad impacts on public health and environmental quality, especially in urban areas experiencing increased transportation activity and urbanization, such as Padang City. This study aims to analyze the distribution of estimated PM₁₀ and CO levels in 2015 and 2025 and to identify their spatial-temporal changes. This study used a quantitative approach through estimation modeling based on Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS Collection 2 Level 2 imagery data. The results showed that the estimated distribution of PM₁₀ in Padang City was in the good category according to the Air Pollution Standard Index (ISPU), with an average concentration of 23.78 µg/m³ in 2015 and 24.18 µg/m³ in 2025. Meanwhile, the distribution of CO concentration was in the moderate category, with an average of 83.61 µg/m³ in 2015 and 83.62 µg/m³ in 2025. Spatial-temporal analysis showed a decreasing trend in PM₁₀ concentration, whereas CO concentration tended not to experience significant spatial or temporal changes. These findings emphasize the importance of satellite imagery-based air quality monitoring as a supporting basis for formulating air pollution control policies in Padang City.

Abstract

The development of the smart city concept encourages local governments to provide public services that are more responsive, integrated, and information technology-based. Padang City has operated Padang Command Center (PCC) 112 as an integrated emergency service center that connects the public with various government agencies in real time. However, the effectiveness of PCC 112 services in supporting smart city governance still needs to be examined empirically because its success depends heavily on response quality, timeliness, and public satisfaction as service users. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of PCC 112 services in terms of institutional aspects, resources, and the achievement of public service objectives within the smart city framework. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with operators, relevant officials, and community members who used the service, as well as documentation studies of performance reports and applicable regulations. The results showed that PCC 112 had successfully integrated various complaint channels and emergency services into a single integrated platform with a relatively rapid response time. However, service effectiveness still faced several challenges, including limited trained human resources, technological infrastructure that was not yet fully optimal, varying levels of public digital literacy, and service socialization that had not been evenly distributed across all areas of the city. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that PCC 112 has demonstrated fairly good effectiveness in supporting the implementation of a smart city in Padang City, but it still requires strengthening institutional capacity, improving digital infrastructure, and expanding socialization continuously so that the service can operate more optimally and provide broader impacts for the community.

Abstract

The Family Hope Program (PKH) is a conditional social assistance program provided by the government to poor families to improve access to education, health, and social welfare. In its implementation, Beneficiary Families (KPM) not only have the right to receive assistance but are also obliged to fulfill commitments as regulated in Minister of Social Affairs Regulation Number 1 of 2018. However, field practices still show various forms of breach of obligation, such as absence from P2K2 meetings, failure to conduct health verification, and misuse of assistance funds. This study aims to identify the forms of breach of obligation by KPM, analyze the factors causing them, and evaluate the implementation of sanctions based on Minister of Social Affairs Regulation Number 1 of 2018. This study used a sociological juridical approach with an empirical legal method. Primary data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews with 57 KPM and social facilitators, while secondary data were obtained from regulations and the SIKS-NG system. The data were analyzed qualitatively using the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that the main forms of breach of obligation included absence from P2K2 meetings, failure to conduct health verification at Posyandu, and misuse of assistance funds for online gambling. The factors causing breach of obligation included scheduling conflicts with the coffee harvest season, geographical constraints, and KPM’s low legal understanding. Sanctions were applied in accordance with procedures, ranging from verbal warnings to forced graduation. The conclusion of this study affirms that the effectiveness of implementing KPM obligations in PKH is strongly influenced by the suitability of the facilitation mechanism, socio-geographical conditions, and beneficiaries’ legal literacy. The implications of this study indicate the need for flexible facilitation schedules and the strengthening of digital and legal literacy among KPM so that PKH implementation becomes more accountable, well-targeted, and in accordance with regulatory provisions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship among emotional maturity, career planning, and professional competence in supporting the career development of early childhood education (PAUD) teachers. A qualitative descriptive-analytical approach was employed through a literature study, with relevant sources identified from Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, and Sinta. The findings indicate that PAUD teacher career development is a continuous process shaped by the integration of three key factors. Emotional maturity contributes to teachers’ psychological resilience and self-efficacy, career planning supports the systematic determination of professional development goals and strategies, and professional competence serves as a central indicator of teacher performance quality. These three dimensions are interrelated and form a holistic framework for sustainable teacher career development. The study concludes that an integrative approach combining emotional maturity, career planning, and professional competence is essential for designing more comprehensive and sustainable PAUD teacher development programs. These findings contribute to the literature on teacher professional development by emphasizing the need for multidimensional career development frameworks that can strengthen teacher quality and improve early childhood education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This community-service study examines the role of psychosocial counseling in supporting the psychological and social recovery of women involved in commercial sex work (CSW) linked to human trafficking in Indonesia. Using a participatory and trauma-informed design, trained counselors implemented a needs-based program integrating individual trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, brief psychosocial stabilization, coping-skills training, and rights-literacy awareness, accompanied by referrals to legal, health, and social-protection services. Participants were identified through partner coordination and screened for psychosocial needs, while outcomes were monitored through session notes, pre–post brief instruments, satisfaction evaluations, and follow-up activities. A case subject, a widowed single mother who entered CSW due to post-divorce economic pressure and limited social support, illustrates the structural drivers of vulnerability, including poverty, social isolation, and informal recruitment, as well as multilayered harms such as shame, guilt, anxiety, emotional suppression, and somatic complaints. The findings indicate that counseling fostered empathetic therapeutic relationships, emotional validation, psychoeducation, and practical coping techniques, resulting in reduced emotional suppression, greater openness, improved coping capacity, emerging hope, and initial planning toward safer livelihoods. However, the findings also show that trauma-informed psychosocial counseling, while contributing meaningful short-term psychosocial gains, is insufficient as a standalone intervention. Durable recovery requires integrated responses that address structural determinants, including economic alternatives, confidential welfare access, and coordinated multi-sector referrals. This study contributes to victim recovery and community-based psychosocial intervention literature by highlighting the importance of embedding counseling within gender-sensitive, trauma-oriented service models. Larger-sample evaluations using standardized measures and longer follow-up are needed to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of combined psychosocial and structural interventions.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has had a major influence on the field of education, particularly in improving the quality of learning through the use of digital media. The use of Android-based learning media is one relevant alternative because smartphones have become part of students’ daily activities. In chemistry learning, chemical bonding material is often considered difficult to understand because it contains abstract concepts that cannot be observed directly, so learning media are needed that can visualize concepts more concretely and interactively. This study aims to develop Android-based learning media assisted by Web Kodular on chemical bonding material for Grade XI senior high school/Islamic senior high school or equivalent that is valid and obtains good user responses. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with a modification of the 4D development model into three stages, namely definition, design, and development. The developed product was validated by material validators, pedagogical validators, and media validators. The assessed aspects included content feasibility, presentation feasibility, instructional feasibility, language feasibility, technical quality, instructional communication media, and effects on learning strategies. Subsequently, one-to-one trials were conducted with three students of different ability levels, along with user response testing involving teachers and students. The results showed that the Android-based learning media assisted by Web Kodular on chemical bonding material were declared valid based on the results of material, pedagogical, and media validation. In addition, user responses to the developed media were in the very good category. Teachers gave positive responses regarding the aspects of learning media use, media display, clarity of presentation, and motivation, whereas students gave positive responses regarding ease of use and navigation, display, material, and motivation. The conclusion of this study affirms that Android-based learning media assisted by Web Kodular are feasible for use as chemistry learning media on chemical bonding material for Grade XI senior high school/Islamic senior high school or equivalent.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology and online game platforms such as Roblox has intensified scholarly attention to how users construct and express digital identity through avatar customization. This study aims to analyze avatars as forms of self-representation among active Roblox users in virtual environments. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through an online Google Forms survey consisting of open-ended questions about users’ experiences in creating and modifying avatars. The data were analyzed using a descriptive thematic approach to identify recurring patterns of meaning. The findings show that avatars are understood through four main dimensions: similarity to the real self, representation of the ideal self, symbolic expression of identity, and behavioral transformation. Avatars not only reflect users’ actual self-perceptions but also function as media for projecting idealized identities through selected visual symbols. In addition, avatar characteristics may influence users’ self-confidence and behavior during virtual interactions. The study concludes that avatars in Roblox serve as spaces for negotiating digital identity within virtual environments. These findings contribute to a broader understanding of the psychosocial role of online game platforms in the identity development of young digital users and highlight the importance of designing virtual spaces that support healthy, authentic, and inclusive self-expression.

Abstract

Career direction confusion, transition anxiety, and limited real-life understanding of professional pathways remain problems faced by final-year students of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Study Program. This community service activity aims to strengthen students’ career readiness through an interactive talk show based on alumni trajectories as an experiential model that is relevant, inspiring, and close to participants’ needs. This activity used a participatory-educational approach through a two-way dialogue forum, presentation of alumni narratives, reflective discussion, initial career consultation sessions, and documentation of participants’ follow-up plans. The activity partners consisted of 37 final-year students who were entering the transition phase toward the world of work. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants’ cognitive and emotional engagement, as reflected in increasingly specific and applicable questions related to CPNS selection, strategies for dealing with students with difficult characteristics, and relationship management with students’ parents or guardians. In addition, there was a shift in participants’ mindset from a passive and anxious attitude to a more anticipatory, reflective, and planned approach to career preparation. The concrete impact of the activity was reflected in the preparation of independent career mind mapping and the formation of small study groups as spaces for strengthening sustainable career readiness. The conclusion of the activity affirms that an interactive talk show based on alumni trajectories plays an important role in bridging the career transition of PAI students through the strengthening of motivation, professional insight, and career planning. The implications of this activity provide practical contributions for study programs in developing career mentoring services that are participatory, contextual, and based on alumni experience.

Abstract

The performance of RW administrators as part of community organizations at the local level plays an important role in supporting the quality of public services and the effectiveness of urban village government administration. However, the performance of RW administrators in Cibadak Urban Village, Bandung City, still faces challenges, particularly in the aspects of work innovation, understanding of main duties, motivation, and independence in carrying out tasks. This study aims to analyze the effect of competence and work culture on the performance of the RW administrative unit in Cibadak Urban Village. This study used a quantitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 85 respondents who were RW administrators in Cibadak Urban Village, then analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows Release 25. The results show that competence and work culture simultaneously have a significant effect on performance, with a coefficient of determination of 79.4%. Partially, competence has no significant effect on performance, whereas work culture has a significant effect and becomes the more dominant variable influencing performance, with a contribution comparison of 22.55% and 56.85%. These findings indicate that improving the performance of RW administrators is determined not only by individual ability but also by the strengthening of work culture, such as service orientation, discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and adaptability. The conclusion of the study affirms that work culture is the main factor in improving the performance of RW administrators in Cibadak Urban Village. The implications of this study provide practical contributions for urban village governments and community organizations in strengthening work culture, improving understanding of main duties, and encouraging independence and work innovation to improve the quality of service performance at the local level.
