Abstract

This study examines the effect of education, training, and work discipline on personnel performance at the Logistics Bureau of the Regional Police of the Riau Islands (Biro Logistik Polda Kepri). Personnel performance in a public-sector logistics function is central to institutional readiness, yet it is shaped by human-resource conditions that have received limited empirical attention in this context. A quantitative associative design was used, with a census of all 43 personnel as respondents. Data were collected through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS 23, following classical assumption tests. The results show that education (t = 7.340; p = .000), training (t = 2.328; p = .025), and work discipline (t = 4.464; p = .000) each have a positive and significant partial effect on personnel performance, and the three variables jointly explain 95.0 percent of the variance in personnel performance (R² = .950; F = 246.779; p = .000). Education emerged as the most dominant predictor (β = .525), followed by work discipline (β = .321) and training (β = .184). The findings indicate that continuing-education pathways, mandatory training compliance, and consistent disciplinary enforcement are complementary levers for strengthening personnel performance in police logistics units, and the study offers practical implications for human-resource policy in similar public-sector settings.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of work discipline, competence, and reward on employee performance at a branch office of Bank Syariah Indonesia in Batam. Islamic banking has expanded rapidly in Indonesia, yet the human-resource conditions that sustain employee performance in sharia-compliant branch operations remain under-examined relative to conventional banking. A quantitative associative design was used, with a census of all 37 branch employees as respondents. Data were collected via a structured Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed with multiple linear regression in SPSS 23, following classical assumption testing. The results indicate that work discipline (t = 7.257; p = .000), competence (t = 3.015; p = .004), and reward (t = 3.581; p = .001) each have a positive and significant partial effect on employee performance, and the three variables jointly explain 84.2 percent of the variance in employee performance (R² = .842; F = 82.611; p = .000). Work discipline is the most dominant predictor (β = .514), followed by reward (β = .249) and competence (β = .241). The findings suggest that consistent rule compliance, competence development, and a well-structured reward system are complementary and largely additive drivers of performance in this Islamic banking branch, with practical implications for human-resource practice in similarly structured sharia financial institutions.

Abstract

This study examines the joint and partial effects of work discipline, work facilities, creativity, and teamwork on employee performance at PT. Bakri Karya Sarana, a logistics and construction-equipment trading firm in Batam, Indonesia. Small and medium-sized trading enterprises in Indonesia's outer-island industrial zones face persistent human-resource constraints, yet the combined behavioral and structural drivers of employee performance in such firms remain under-researched relative to large corporates. A quantitative associative design was used, with a census of all 75 permanent employees as respondents. Data were collected through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS 23, following classical assumption testing. The results show that work discipline (t = 8.230; p = .000), work facilities (t = 3.020; p = .003), creativity (t = 2.865; p = .002), and teamwork (t = 3.246; p = .001) each have a positive and significant partial effect on employee performance, and the four variables jointly explain 85.0 percent of the variance in employee performance (R² = .850; F = 95.130; p = .000). Work discipline is the most dominant predictor (β = .512), followed by creativity (β = .210), work facilities (β = .221), and teamwork (β = .184). The findings indicate that performance in this firm rests primarily on behavioral compliance, reinforced by adequate physical infrastructure and a working culture that supports both individual initiative and collaboration, with implications for human-resource practice in comparable trading and logistics SMEs.
