Abstract

This research was undertaken as an attempt to assess the effect of cooperative learning model: Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) on the fourth grade students’ learning outcomes in Social Science at SD Negeri 10 Bandar Buat. This research adopted a quasi-experimental research design with the non equivalent control group design. The population of this study was all of the fourth grade students at SDN 10 Bandar Buat that were divided into experimental group (class IVA) and control group (class IVB). Based on the calculation of t-test, t-count (2.18) scored higher than t-table (2.01) at significance level 0.05. The mean score of the experimental group was 80.25 and the mean score of control group was 76.04.   Therefore, in this case, the hypothesis H1 was accepted.

Abstract

The background of this research is that science learning outcomes are still low. This condition is caused when the learning process takes place the teacher has not oriented students towards the problem, less guiding students in doing the task and evaluating the task given. The puspose of reseacrh is describe science learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in fourth grade students at Dian Andalas Elementary School Padang. This type of research is classroom action research with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The study consisted of two cycles of Iitus cycle I and cycle II. Data collection techniques in the form of observation and tests. This research includes (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, (4) reflection. The research subjects were teachers and fourth grade students of Dian Andalas Elementary School, amounting to 20 people consisting of 7 women and 13 men. The results of the study showed that planning, implementation and student learning outcomes had increased. The assessment of RPP of the first cycle of meeting 1 averaged 67.85% of qualifications sufficient, meeting 2 averaged 78.57% with good qualifications. in the second cycle an average of 92.85% with very good qualifications. Furthermore the learning process carried out is in accordance with the steps of implementing the PBL model in the first cycle of meeting 1 having a percentage of teacher aspects 67.85% and student aspects 67.85%. In the first cycle of meeting 2 the percentage of teacher aspects was 82.14% and student aspects were 78.57%. The first cycle experienced an increase in the second cycle which had a percentage of teacher aspects and student aspects 92.85%. Thus it can be concluded that science learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can improve student learning outcomes in elementary schools.

Abstract

Background research by the low student learning outcomes in multiple learning smallest union in the fourth grade of SD N 04 Gunung Tuleh in West Pasaman. This occurs because in learning to teach mathematics multiples smallest union in the traditional way with the meaning of the word is not linked with real life learning students. One approach to learning can improve learning outcomes is Realistic Mathematics Approach. The results of the research that has been conducted every cycle saw an increase in students' first cycle with the results of the meeting I RPP 79%, meeting the first of cycle II increased to 82.41%, while on the second cycle to be 92.85%. Activities teachers on learning KPK with PMR cycle I of meeting I was 71.42%, in the first cycle of meeting II increased to 75%, while the second cycle to be 92.85%. Activity students in learning KPK with PMR first cycle of meetings I was 60.71%, the percentage of completeness 56.00%, the first meeting of cycle II increased to 71.42%, the percentage of completeness 68.67%, while the second cycle to be 89.28%, the percentage of completeness 85.33% . Based on observations made also saw an increase in activity in the learning process. So it can be concluded that PMR approach can improve student learning outcomes in learning KPK in the fourth grade of SD N 04 Gunung Tuleh in West Pasaman.   Keywords:      learning outcomes, multiples guild smallest, realistic mathematics education approach
