Abstract

This study is motivated by the problem found in the field where a teacher used a prescribed lesson plan without adapting it following the situation and the condition of the students. As a result, the integrated thematic learning process is not student oriented and does not respond to the actual problem. One of the solutions to overcome such problem is using Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study aims at describing the improvement of students’ integrated thematic learning using Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study used both qualitative and quantitative approaches, and used classroom action research as the design. This study was conducted at SDN 34 Aia Pacah. The result show that: 1) the assessment result of the lesson plan in Cycle 1 is 81.25%, categorized in the “good” qualification (G), it increases to 96.87% in Cycle II, categorized in the “very good” qualification (VG); 2) the learning implementation result viewed from the teacher aspect in Cycle 1 is 87.50%, categorized in the “good” qualification (G), it increases to 96.42% in Cycle II, categorized in the “very good” qualification (VG); 3) the learning implementation result viewed from the student aspect in Cycle 1 is 87.50%, categorized in the “good” qualification (G), it increases to 96.42% in Cycle II, categorized in the “very good” qualification (VG). Thus, it can be concluded that using problem based learning (PBL) model can improve the learning process of the elementary school students at SDN 34 Aia Pacah.

Abstract

This research is an experimental research that aims to prove the positive influence of the Use of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model on the Ability to Solve Mathematical Problems in SD Gugus IV Padang City. This study was Quasy Experiment. The population in this study were all elementary school students who were in Gugus IV North Padang. The samples in this study using Cluster Random Sampling and the sample used in this study was 51 people. Before determining the sample, a prerequisite test for normality and homogeneity has been carried out. The instrument used is a multiple choice objective test.Based on the analysis of the results of the t-test with a significant level of 5% (0.05) obtained tcount (4.72440944) and ttable (1.67655). So that t count> t table, where 4,72440944> 1,67655. It proves that Ha is accepted, namely the existence of positive influence from the use of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model on the Ability to Solve Mathematical Problems in SD Gugus IV Padang City.

Abstract

Integrated thematic learning is integrated learning using themes that link several subjects so that learning provides meaningful experiences for students. In fact, learning outcomes in primary schools are not as expected. In connection with this problem, it is necessary to solve the problem to overcome it, one way to overcome this problem requires an appropriate learning model so that learning outcomes are optimal so that the results obtained by students can be satisfactory. One of the best models to solve this problem is the Discovery Lerning model. This study aims to provide benefits to readers in adding insight and knowledge about the application of the Discovery Learning model in the integrated thematic learning process. The type of research carried out is literature research. Based on the literature study research that researchers have done, it can be concluded that application of the Discovery learning model can provide an increase in student learning outcomes. It can be seen that learning using the Discovery Learning model, learning using the Discovery Learning model increases understanding for students so that learning outcomes in primary schools increase

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of the this research was to know differences in learning outcomes of calculating broad trapezoid and kite using the cooperative model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) with convensional learning in class V SD 13 Parit Putus. This research design is quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The sample in this study is class V SDN 13 Parit Putus,VA class is exsperiment class and VB class is control class. The results showed that there were influences in calculating flat bilding outcomes using the NHT type cooperative model with the convensional learning  in V SDN 13 Parit Putus,Agam. This is evidenced by the results of tcount 2.190 and t table at a significance level of 0.05 at 1.68595, so that t count> t table. Keyword : calculating broad trapezoid and kite, NHT
