Abstract

The mining industry plays an important role in economic development, but its operations often have adverse environmental and social impacts and many companies are only concerned with profit. So it is important to apply ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles to companies to create a sustainable business. This thesis examines the application of ESG in PT. X as a mining company. This research is qualitative research and uses descriptive analysis with the design thinking method. Observations and interviews were conducted at PT. X and using an informant from the management of PT. X. This research also aims to find effective strategies in the implementation of ESG in strengthening business sustainability in PT. X by using indicators from the ESG Reporting Guide that uses the Global Reporting Standard (GRI) in the mining sector. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the implementation of ESG in PT. X has achieved a percentage of 95% of the GRI Coal standard. There is one indicator that has not been implemented, namely the water and effluent indicators on the environmental aspect. Alternative strategies developed with design thinking methods are in the form of making rainwater catchment ponds, remote control waterfill, and automatic sprayer.

Abstract

Cost estimation plays a crucial role in ensuring the feasibility and success of construction projects. However, producing accurate estimates, particularly in the early conceptual stages, remains a challenge due to limited information. This study addresses the issue by analyzing the cost estimation process for the construction of the Joint Lecture Building (GKB 3) at State University of Malang. The objective of this study is to provide an accurate and systematic cost estimation to support the construction planning of GKB 3. The study employs a conceptual cost estimation (CCE) method. Data were obtained from field surveys (primary data) and relevant regulatory standards, technical documents, and unit prices (secondary data). Key inclusion criteria include projects categorized under multi-story educational buildings. Analytical descriptive methods were used to process the data. The results indicate that the total building area for GKB 3, spanning nine floors, is 29,932 m², with an estimated cost of IDR 865,037,221,000. This amount includes standard costs, non-standard costs, and Value Added Tax (VAT). Standard costs were calculated using the building's area, multiplying factors, and unit price standards. Non-standard costs, such as installations for air conditioning, elevators, and fire protection systems, were estimated based on regulatory guidelines and their respective percentages of standard costs. In conclusion, the study highlights the importance of employing systematic and regulation-based estimation methods to achieve accurate cost calculations. This approach ensures efficient resource allocation and supports strategic planning for the construction of educational infrastructure.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of local government integrity on APBD management and its implications for the quality of regional development in Indonesia. Secondary data from BPS, SPI, and APBD records for cities and regencies in Indonesia in 2022 were used. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. This method integrates measurement models to validate indicators and structural models to assess relationships between latent variables. Key evaluation criteria, including reliability, validity, and hypothesis testing, were employed to ensure robustness. The results indicate that higher local government integrity improves APBD management, albeit with a relatively modest effect. Integrity plays a crucial role in preventing corruption and enhancing the sustainability of regional development, highlighting its importance in public financial management. These findings underscore the necessity of promoting high-integrity practices in local governance to achieve sustainable development goals.

Abstract

This research investigates the risk spillover effects of crude oil prices on stock price indices in both oil-producing and consumer countries during the period 2000–2022. The research employs the GARCH Copula Quantile Regression (CQR) model, a method capable of capturing nonlinear dependencies and tail risks between crude oil prices and stock indices across different risk levels. The data includes daily crude oil prices (WTI) and stock indices of oil-producing countries (S&P500, TASI, MOEX, TSX) and consumer countries (SSE, BSE SENSEX, Nikkei 225). The findings reveal significant downside and upside risk spillovers from crude oil prices to stock indices, with oil-producing countries experiencing higher spillover risks compared to consumer countries. Notably, the TASI index exhibits the greatest risk spillover among producing countries, while the SSE index is most affected among consumer countries. These results highlight the asymmetrical nature of risk spillovers, with downside risks posing greater challenges than upside risks. This research contributes to the existing literature by providing a more detailed analysis of risk dependencies using the GARCH CQR model and offering practical insights for investors and policymakers to better manage risks in volatile markets. The study underscores the importance of understanding tail dependencies in financial markets affected by crude oil price fluctuations.

Abstract

Gumumae Beach is one of the leading tourist destinations in East Seram Regency. The attraction is beach tourism characterized by brown sand and sloping and dominated by coastal vegetation in the form of coastal cassowaries and mangroves. The problem is the increase in the number of visitors only on certain holidays. The purpose of this research is to formulate a development strategy for Gumumae Beach Tourism. This study uses qualitative methods, data collected through interviews, field observations and documentation. Data analysis used multiple regression and SWOT. The regression results show that the cost of travel and the length of visit are inversely proportional to the frequency of visits. That is, the greater the travel cost and the longer the visit, the frequency of visits will decrease. SWOT analysis resulted in three prioritized tourism development strategies, namely: 1) optimize the potential of natural beauty, beaches and mangroves and improve culinary infrastructure and local culture through cooperation with the private sector; 2) develop environmentally friendly, clean and adaptive coastal tourism to the impacts of climate change; and 3) improve the knowledge and skills of human resources to serve visitors and increase the contribution of tourism to local revenue.

Abstract

The distribution of soil in Jayapura City, especially the Youtefa Bay area, consists of three dominant soil types that then form the stratigraphy of the local soil layer, namely allifial deposits, silt silt/silt clay, and fine, uniformly grained sand. Soil conditions like this have great potential for liquefaction, especially since this area is mostly passed by fault lines that have the potential to cause earthquakes. The groundwater table factor that is very close to the surface soil is also an important factor in the occurrence of liquifaction. There are 2 ways to analyze the potential for liquifaction, namely by laboratory test and from field test data. The approach to calculating field test data is CPT (Cone Penetration Test) testing. The results obtained were the Cyclic Stress Ratio (CSR) value and the Cyclic Resistance Ratio (CRR) value obtained by simulating seismic data using an earthquake strength of 6.5 on the riter scale and a pic ground acceleration value (0.3), then based on the results of the cone penetration test (CPT)/Sondir showed a maximum value of CRR 2.88, a minimum value of 0.21, a maximum CSR value of 3.70, a minimum value of 2.25. The maximum value of FS is 0.97, the minimum value is 0.07. There are 6 points at the research location that have the potential for liquefaction (Very High), namely points S1, S2, S5, S7, S8, S10, while 3 points with medium potential (High), namely points S3, S4, S9 for those with low potential (Low) S6.
