Abstract

English vowels consist of five letters that have different pronunciations (sounds) in English words. There are 20 vowel sounds and 24 consonant sounds in English. It is a challenge for English teachers to teach English learners the concept of reading English words. English vowels with the symbols a, i, u, e, and o have different pronunciations when they are positioned between consonants in the word CVC and when the word CVC is added by the letter e in the word CVCe. Therefore, this paper analyzed the influence of the letter e (which is referred to as magic e) in the pronunciation of English vowel sounds. This research is qualitative research with documentation study methods to analyze and explain how the vowel sounds are pronounced in CVC and CVCe words so that English reading teaching steps are obtained that are easy to understand. The results showed that English vowels were pronounced as short vowel sounds in CVC words and pronounced as long vowel sounds in CVCe words. The steps to teach magic e that can be applied are to repeat the short vowel sound material, introduce the concept of sounds and letters, introduce the concept of short and long vowel sounds, read two words similar in the concept of CVC and CVCe, and practice reading the word CVCe regularly.

Abstract

The era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0 has brought significant changes in various aspects of life, including in the business world. The rapid development of technology and the integration of cyber-physical systems have changed the way businesses are conducted, giving rise to new and complex business ethics challenges. The normative juridical research method is employed in this study, which focuses on positive legal regulations related to legislation. Two approaches, the Statute Approach and the Conceptual Approach, are utilized. Primary and secondary legal sources are employed to understand and apply the law. Integrating Islamic Law and Positive Law regulations refers to the effort to combine their principles harmoniously. This integration involves identifying similarities and differences, considering contemporary aspects such as technology and globalization. Ethical challenges in business during the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Society 5.0 era include ensuring justice, sustainability, and humanity in business practices. Islamic and Positive Law regulations, such as usury and consumer protection prohibition, help guide ethical business behavior. Integrating Islamic and Positive Law regulations can address business ethics challenges. Collaboration among the government, society, and Islamic organizations is necessary to strengthen regulatory implementation. Education on Islamic values-based business ethics also needs to be reinforced to cultivate responsible business leaders for the future.

Stunting remains a severe problem in public health, including in Indonesia, and tackling it requires cross-sectoral efforts and integrated public policies. This study analyzes public policies on stunting reduction, especially national programs and strategies in Indonesia. The research method used is public policy analysis, including identifying, describing, and evaluating existing policies and factors influencing their implementation. The study collected data from various sources, including policy documents and academic literature. The results of the analysis show that the Indonesian government has implemented various national programs and strategies to reduce stunting. These programs include nutrition interventions, maternal and child health services, health education, and community empowerment. The national strategy adopted includes a cross-sectoral approach, active community participation, increased accessibility, and health system strengthening. Nevertheless, implementing public policies to stunt reduction is faced with various challenges. These challenges include budget constraints, suboptimal cross-sectoral coordination, public awareness, and environmental factors affecting child nutrition. In addition, evaluation of the impact and effectiveness of the program is also an essential focus in improving the success of stunting reduction efforts. The study suggests several policy recommendations to improve the effectiveness of stunting reduction in Indonesia. The recommendations include increasing budget allocations for nutrition programs, improving cross-sectoral coordination through establishing more effective coordination mechanisms, increasing community participation through a community-based approach, and strengthening regular program monitoring and evaluation.
