Abstract

In preventing the spread of the Coronavirus, one of the protection measures for everyone is to avoid touching their eyes, nose and mouth, as advised by the World Health Organization (WHO) in their website. Viruses are easily picked up by our hands after touching many surfaces on daily basis. Once it is contaminated, our hands can transfer the virus to our eyes, nose or mouth where the virus can easily enter our body. The aim of this research is to develop a commercialized low-cost wearable called the Cov19-donttouch that alerts people from touching any parts of their face. The device is designed to mimic a choker or a brooch or a detachable device that will be placed near the neck area to sense the hand movement and will vibrate when a person is trying to touch their face. Cov19-donttouch uses low-cost motion detection sensor and vibrating motor as its main components. Through induction, the motion detection sensor detects human body movement (in this project: hand) and sends trigger to the buzzer that is connected to a sensor output pin. The sensor works well under one’s shirt or hijab for hand movement detection. The development of the device is achieved as Cov19-donttouch is a stand-alone wearable device where it does not need smart phones or smart watches to function. The device is equipped with battery as its power supply. All the components are encapsulated in a case produced using the 3D printer. Filament ABS is chosen for its durability and versatility as these are very important aspects since the device will be worn outside. ABS provides strength and higher temperature resistance. The Cov19-donttouch device will be placed on the neck to mimic a choker and it performs its intended function well.

Abstract

Heart disease and stroke are the main contributions to health disorder. Two factors influence the susceptibility of the disease, namely clinical risk factors and non-clinical factors. This study aims to analyze the effect of non-clinical risk factors on the susceptibility to heart disease and stroke. The non-clinical risk factors are stress management, age, obesity, genetics, smoking, gender, lifestyle (nutrition), lifestyle (timing rest), and physical activity. Analysis of the influence of non-clinical risk factors on susceptibility using statistical methods, namely descriptive statistics, normalization tests with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, validity tests, reliability tests, and correlation tests. The descriptive statistical tests show that the risk factors for stress management, obesity, and smoking have a more significant influence than others. While Gender and physical activity have more negligible effect than others. Testing with one sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test shows that the data is normally distributed. Validity testing produces 100% valid data. The reliability test using Cronbach's alpha of 9 non-clinical risk factor items resulted in a value of 0.684, which means reliable. Correlation test between 9 items of non-clinical risk factor shows significant between items.

Abstract

Speech act is the study of the implied meaning uttered by the speaker to hearer. The study of speech act includes the locutionary act, illocutionary act, and perlocutionary act which become the basis when someone utters their utterance. Beside the three basic components, the involvement of cooperative principle is needed in communication. In other side, people with schizophrenia have some differences when they communicate. The perception of them is destructed by deletions and it will create misperception in communication. The phenomenon of speech act of schizophrenic becomes the study of this research. This research is discussed the representative speech act and the quality maxim of schizophrenic communication. The problem statements in this research are what kind of representative speech act is uttered and how the quality maxim takes role in schizophrenic. This research uses words, phrases, and sentences of representative utterances of John Nash in the film entitled A Beautiful Mind as the data mean while the movie, A Beautiful Mind, becomes the source of the data. The data are the utterances or sentences. The data will be obtained from the main character John Nash and focused on representative speech act and the quality maxims in Nash’s conversation. Each utterance chosen by the researcher will be the datum of this research. The movie, A Beautiful Mind, takes role as the source of the data. From the analysis, the types of the representative speech act uttered by John Nash in A Beautiful Mind movie are: claiming: 2 data, admitting: 1 datum, informing: 1 datum, denying: 1 datum, reporting: 1 datum, assuring: 1 datum, and concluding: 1 datum. The result shows that the most dominant data is claiming. The reason why it becomes the most dominant category is that the character tend to give claim to the people around him to make sure he is still be able to differ the reality or delusion.
