Abstract

The role and existence of the mass media, especially the print media, in the process and efforts to restore and rebuild the West Sumatra region in the early days of the New Order was very important. The mass media in question are not only those that exist in West Sumatra, but also those published in overseas areas. Among the mass media published and managed by the diaspora (migrants) from Minangkabau is Aneka Minang magazine. This ethnic Minangkabau magazine published in Jakarta is not only circulated in overseas areas, especially Java, but also in West Sumatra itself. By using historical research methods, namely heuristics (source collection), criticism (external and internal), interpretation and historiography (historical writing). The research results reveal the significant role of Aneka Minang magazine as a mass media of Minangkabau people published in overseas areas in assisting the recovery and rebuilding program of West Sumatra after being devastated by the political upheaval of the Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Indonesia (PRRI) and the turbulent transition between the Old Order (Guided Democracy) regime to the New Order in the region.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the design and implementation of the Make a Match learning model assisted by flashcards in the evaluation of history learning at SMAN 1 Sutera. The background of this study is the lack of interesting and effective learning methods in improving student activity and understanding. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Make a Match model is implemented through three stages: introduction, core, and closing. Although this model succeeded in improving student activity and understanding, obstacles were found in the unevenness of student participation in group discussions. This study concludes that the Make a Match model is effective in creating an interactive learning atmosphere and improving understanding of the material, but improvements are needed in managing discussions for more optimal results.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the history of diversity in Lombok, especially in East Cakranegara Village, then explore more deeply related to the relations that exist between Muslim and Hindu communities in the village. Cakranegara is one of the areas in West Lombok that has a diverse population. This is inseparable from the history of the Karangasem kingdom that once ruled Lombok. Religious pluralism reflected in the activities of the community in East Cakranegara Village shows that harmony is established not without reason but there is an underlying history, so it is necessary to conduct further research on how the dynamics of society are established in the midst of differences in beliefs between religious communities. It will certainly affect the knowledge of the community that is able to foster tolerance, tolerance, and empathy that makes people live in harmony amid differences.  This research uses historical research methods that include heuristics/source collection, source verification/critique, interpretation, and historiography. The results of the discussion of this paper explain that the interaction between Muslims and Hindus is well established, as evidenced by the activities they do together during the religious ceremonies of each religion.

Abstract

This literature review aims to analyse the transformation of Sumba ikat weaving from an ancestral tradition into part of the creative industry that contributes to the local economy and tourism. The research method used is the historical method, namely heuristics, criticism, auffassung, and darstellung and through a systematic literature review of various scientific sources related to Sumba ikat weaving. The results of the study show that the history of Sumba ikat weaving is rooted in the natural wealth and traditional values of the local community, with motifs that have symbolic meanings in social and spiritual life. The transformation of Sumba ikat weaving from tradition to creative industry is marked by the evolution of production techniques, design innovation, and product diversification, despite facing challenges in maintaining the sustainability of natural resources and quality standardisation. The socio-cultural impact of this transformation is seen in the shift in function from the role of customary rituals to commercial products, which affects gender dynamics and the cultural identity of the Sumbanese people. In the global context, Sumba ikat weaving is increasingly integrated into the global supply chain, facing competition with global fashion products while maintaining its uniqueness and authenticity. Ecofeminism and local community empowerment approaches are key in maintaining a balance between cultural values and market demands.

Abstract

After the end of Japanese colonialism in Indonesia, the Dutch wanted to re-colonize Indonesia with the help of the Allies. Indonesia strongly opposed the Dutch plan, so there was great resistance from the Indonesian people and the Dutch began to carry out Military Aggression I and II in various regions, including Kerinci. In the Dutch Military Aggression in Kerinci,  lieutenan II Muradi became a very important figure because he led and organized the guerrilla war strategy against the Dutch. The main focus of this research is to look at the role of  lieutenant II Muradi and the war tactics used with his troops in the face of superior Dutch military strength. The method used in this paper is the historical method. The results show that  lieutenant II Muradi, who came from Koto Tuo Village, Kerinci Regency, completed his education at the SR CVO and the Vocational College in Bengkulu, then became a teacher in Bengkulu. During the Japanese occupation, he was appointed to the Gyugun, or Japanese auxiliary army, with the rank of Sergeant Major. In Dutch Military Aggression II, he led the war using guerrilla tactics, scorched earth tactics, and readiness detection against the Dutch. His contribution to the struggle in Kerinci is highly respected, as evidenced by the establishment of a monument to his struggle in Sungai Penuh City, Kerinci, and the naming of a protocol road in Kerinci Regency.

Abstract

There are several important points in this paper, including: the role of the tarekat in the spread and development of Islam in the Dutch East Indies, the reaction of the indigenous people to the emergence of the tarekat in the Dutch East Indies and the response of the Dutch colonial government to the tarekat which became the driving force towards independence. This study applies the library research method with a historical approach. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, the researcher concluded that the tarekat during the colonial period had a fairly important place and role for the indigenous people and elites, because it was not only a space for the spread and development of Islam in the Dutch East Indies but in this period the tarekat succeeded in suppressing the hegemony of the colonial government and became the driving force for Indonesian independence.

Abstract

This research directs history teachers to utilize local history learning resources related to historical material, specifically in the Muaraenim Regency. The methods used are lectures, questions, and answers or discussions, as well as working on pre-test and post-test questions. The results of the socialization show that history teachers who have participated in PKM activities have been given direction in utilizing past relics with local historical nuances. History teachers can relate historical material to the context of the material being taught by involving local history in their area. Like the use of history in Muaraenim Regency, the existence of the Bumiayu Temple Site can be used as a source of historical learning, because it has historical values. Efforts to learn local history are used to instill a sense of love for the surrounding area.
