Abstract

This research was motivated by the dominance of history learning that focuses on memorization, resulting in low student participation in the learning process. This study aims to reveal classroom culture in history learning through an ethnographic approach in class XI.8 of SMAN 1 Leuwiliang. The research used a qualitative approach with an ethnographic method. The research subjects consisted of history teachers and students of class XI.8 selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the classroom culture formed was active, interactive, and participatory. The teacher acted as a facilitator who encouraged dialogue, discussion, and the use of varied learning media. Open interaction between teachers and students created a conducive learning environment and improved students’ motivation, critical thinking, and historical awareness in history learning.

Abstract

This article examines the environmental pollution conflict caused by the activities of a jeans washing factory in Karangdowo Village, Kedungwuni District, Pekalongan Regency in 1997. The main issues of the study include changes in environmental quality due to industrial waste, the social response of residents to the pollution of wells and rice fields, and the dynamics of the relationship between the community, entrepreneurs, and the government in resolving the conflict. This study aims to analyze the impact of small-scale industrialization on the village settlement environment, the forms of community resistance, and the dispute resolution mechanisms pursued. The method used is the historical method with heuristic, verification, interpretation, and historiography stages, through the use of primary sources in the form of contemporary newspapers and archival documents, as well as secondary sources in the form of books and scientific articles. The results of the study show that the disposal of waste without adequate treatment has caused a decline in well water quality and triggered social tensions. Deliberation efforts did not result in an agreement, so residents took civil and criminal legal action. This case shows the weakness of environmental supervision and the bargaining position of the community in dealing with local industry.

Abstract

This study examines the history and developmental dynamics of Societeit De Harmonie in Semarang from 1906 to 1990. The primary focus of this study is to analyze the transformation of the building’s function and significance from the colonial era through the post-independence period, specifically when it became the Gedung Rakyat Indonesia Semarang (GRIS). This study employs historical methods, specifically heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography, utilizing primary sources such as colonial newspapers accessed via Delpher and national newspapers like Suara Merdeka. The findings reveal that Societeit De Harmonie served as a symbol of exclusivity within the European community and reflected social stratification during the colonial era. In the post-independence era, ownership and function shifted from a private building to a public one that the community could use. Over time, the GRIS building declined due to management conflicts, policy changes, and waning public interest.

Abstract

This study analyzes the management of the Gunung Sepikul natural tourist attraction in Tiyaran Village and its implications for the socioeconomic conditions of the local community. Using a qualitative methodology, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews involving the village government, POKDARWIS, Karang Taruna, and tourists. Historically, the transformation of this area from agricultural land into a tourist destination was driven by the community’s demographic characteristics, which allowed for adaptability to changes in land use. The study’s findings indicate a synergy among stakeholders within a community-based management model, where the involvement of the productive-age group serves as the cornerstone of environmental conservation. Tourists are drawn to visit Gunung Sepikul due to its unique natural aesthetic appeal and the widespread availability of information via social media. This has significantly impacted improved well-being through the creation of jobs and new business opportunities, although the majority of these remain in the informal sector. However, limitations in infrastructure and service standardization remain challenges that need to be addressed through integrated community capacity-building. Overall, optimizing local participation is the key to ensuring inclusive and sustainable tourism growth in the future.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the supervision system in the Bojongrejo Temanggung coffee plantations and 'gorek kopi,' which took place during the 1970s to the 2000s. 'Gorek kopi' refers to the activity of picking up and collecting coffee beans that have fallen and scattered in the harvested plantation fields. This research uses historical methods (heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography) based on oral historical sources and through a socio-economic approach. The findings show that the plantation supervision system was carried out through a hierarchical management structure, but in practice, there were still gaps in the plantation areas that could be used for 'gorek kopi' by the local community. When coffee production was high (boom period) from the 1970s to the 1990s, massive 'gorek kopi' activities happened in the Bojongrejo coffee plantations. 'Gorek kopi' served as an informal economic strategy for the local community  and has become a collective habit, especially for women. Because of this, the widespread coffee picking creates a local economic network that operates outside the official plantation distribution system and changes according to plantation production dynamics. This study also confirms that informal economic practices don't always arise just because of an economic crisis, but are also driven by high production opportunities and inconsistent oversight, emerging as a rational expression of the community's moral economy, not just as a weakness of institutions.

Abstract

History learning at the high school level is still driven by teacher-centered lectures and nation-centric textbooks, so students often struggle to understand the relevance of history to their lives. This study aims to identify forms of local wisdom in the Cireundeu Traditional Village, particularly within the local food security system, and to analyze their relevance as a source of history learning in CP Phase E of the Independent Curriculum in high schools. The study employed a qualitative approach using ethnographic methods, including participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, conducted in April 2026 in the Cireundeu Traditional Village. The results show that the local wisdom of the Cireundeu Traditional Village is multidimensional, encompassing cassava-based food security and rasi, cultural inheritance systems, the traditional Ngemban Taun ritual, as well as the Ngantereuran tradition, which has been practiced since 1918. All of these dimensions are relevant to the material on historical research steps and historical sources in CP Phase E and meet the criteria for economical, practical, flexible, and relevant learning resources.

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka is an education policy that transforms learning and assessment in schools by emphasizing learning processes, competencies, and character development. Teachers are required to implement diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments but still face challenges such as limited understanding, training, time constraints, administrative burdens, and difficulty assessing non-cognitive aspects. This study aims to analyze teachers' role in assessment under Kurikulum Merdeka, the challenges encountered, and efforts to address them using a descriptive qualitative literature study approach. Data were collected from journals, scientific articles, and relevant literature, then analyzed to examine assessment implementation. Results show that implementation still faces obstacles; therefore continuous training, simplified administration, technology use, and support from schools and government are needed to optimize assessment practices. Thus, teachers play a crucial role in ensuring effective assessment that supports student competency and character development through continuous improvement, collaboration, and educational policy support in school environments implementation and practice process.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based learning media on students' self-confidence in microteaching practice. This research is based on the increasingly widespread use of AI in the learning process, particularly as a tool for teaching preparation, classroom simulations, and teaching performance evaluation. This study uses qualitative research methods with a qualitative descriptive approach to answer the research questions by describing the Microteaching learning activities and measuring the effectiveness of prospective history teachers' competencies. The results of this study indicate that the use of AI-based learning media positively contributes to increasing student self-confidence. This influence is evident in students' ability to prepare teaching materials more effectively, simulate material delivery, and receive rapid and accurate feedback on their teaching performance. Furthermore, AI helps students reduce anxiety, improve communication clarity, and build self-awareness of weaknesses and potential improvements. This study recommends more systematic integration of AI training into microteaching to support the improvement of pedagogical competence and self-confidence of prospective educators.

Abstract

This article analyzes the history of Martapura-Sungai Tabuk citrus cultivation as a wetland agrarian landscape of Banjar. Using historical method through heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, the study combines Donicie's 1942 colonial agronomic report on djeroekcultuur in Bandjermasin-Marabahan and Martapoera with colonial maps, local historical studies, 1992 agribusiness data, contemporary reports on Sungai Tabuk citrus revitalization, and Banjar Regency in Figures 2026. The findings show that Martapura citrus was not merely a horticultural commodity, but an agrarian archive of community adaptation to swamps, lakes, rivers, tembokan, sorjan, trade networks, and changing cultural taste. BPS 2026 data confirm that Sungai Tabuk remains an important producer of siam/keprok citrus in Banjar Regency. The article's novelty lies in reading citrus as a bridge between wetland technology, village economy, trade networks, and Banjar taste memory.
