Abstract

Temporary teachers play an essential role in maintaining the continuity of education, particularly in public junior high schools where teacher availability and student developmental needs require strong professional commitment. However, temporary teachers often face unequal working conditions, including high workloads, administrative responsibilities, additional school duties, limited financial compensation, and uncertain employment status. This study aims to examine the relationship between effort-reward imbalance and subjective well-being among temporary teachers at public junior high schools in Subdistrict X, West Bandung Regency. A quantitative approach with a non-experimental correlational design was employed. The study population consisted of 32 temporary teachers from four public junior high schools, selected using saturated sampling. Data were collected through online questionnaires via Google Forms and analyzed using JASP software, with validity, reliability, normality, descriptive, cross-tabulation, and Pearson Product Moment correlation tests applied. The findings show a significant negative relationship between effort-reward imbalance and subjective well-being, with a correlation coefficient of r = ?0.639 and p < 0.001, indicating that a higher perceived imbalance between effort and reward is associated with lower subjective well-being. Most respondents were categorized as having rewards greater than effort and moderate subjective well-being. The study concludes that fair rewards, social support, professional recognition, and career certainty are important factors in maintaining the psychological well-being of temporary teachers.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) services has transformed students' digital payment behavior, particularly through ShopeePayLater, which offers convenience, flexibility, and easy access to online credit. However, this development also raises concerns regarding uncontrolled consumption and students' ability to manage financial obligations responsibly. This study aims to examine the influence of self-control and financial literacy on the use of ShopeePayLater among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati Cirebon. This research employed a quantitative associative approach with a survey method. The sample consisted of 115 active students who had used ShopeePayLater for at least three months, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The findings show that self-control has a positive and significant effect on ShopeePayLater usage, indicating that students with better self-control tend to use the service more rationally and in a planned manner. Financial literacy also has a positive and significant effect, demonstrating that students with a stronger financial understanding are able to assess the benefits, risks, and payment mechanisms of the service more responsibly. This study concludes that self-control and financial literacy are important internal factors that support wiser and more responsible use of ShopeePayLater.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the profitability ratio performance of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk during the 2020–2025 period using a quantitative descriptive approach. The data used were secondary data obtained from the company’s annual financial statements and analyzed using key profitability ratios, including return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE), net profit margin (NPM), and operating expenses to operating income (BOPO). The analytical method involved presenting the data in tabular form and conducting trend analysis to describe the dynamics of the company’s financial performance. The results indicated that ROA and ROE experienced significant growth until 2023, followed by a decline in the 2024–2025 period. NPM showed highly volatile fluctuations, with a sharp increase up to 2023 and a substantial decline thereafter. Meanwhile, BOPO showed a downward trend, indicating improved operational efficiency, although a slight increase occurred at the end of the period. The study concluded that Bank Mandiri’s profitability performance was dynamic and influenced by both internal and external factors. This research contributed to the understanding of banking financial performance analysis based on profitability ratios in a longitudinal context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability on stock prices with dividend policy as an intervening variable in conventional commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2022–2024 period. Profitability is proxied using Return on Assets (ROA), dividend policy is measured by the Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR), and stock prices are represented by the annual closing price. This study used an associative quantitative approach with purposive sampling and obtained 45 observational data points. The analysis method used was path analysis with the assistance of SPSS, accompanied by the classical assumption test and the Sobel test to examine the mediating effect. The results show that profitability has a significant effect on stock prices, profitability has a significant effect on dividend policy, and dividend policy has a significant effect on stock prices. In addition, the results of the Sobel test confirm that dividend policy is able to mediate the effect of profitability on stock prices. These findings strengthen Signaling Theory and Dividend Signaling Theory, demonstrating that profit information and dividend policy serve as important signals for investors in making investment decisions, as reflected in stock price movements. This research provides implications for banking management to maintain profitability stability and establish optimal dividend policies to enhance company value in the capital market.

Abstract

This study addresses the challenge of regional inequality in Indonesia, where economic growth and consumption patterns do not always correspond to improvements in quality of life. Differences in food expenditure, non-food expenditure, and life expectancy across provinces create the need for more objective regional mapping to support market segmentation strategies. This study aims to classify 38 provinces in Indonesia based on community consumption patterns and quality of life using the K-Means clustering algorithm. The research employed a quantitative data mining approach using secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency in 2025, including life expectancy, average food expenditure, and average non-food expenditure. Data were cleaned, integrated, and transformed using Min-Max Scaling before clustering. The optimal number of clusters was determined using the Elbow Method and Silhouette Score, resulting in three regional clusters. The model produced an Average Silhouette Score of 0.5820 and a Davies-Bouldin Index of 0.6095, indicating valid cluster separation. The results identify three market categories: Basic Priority Areas, High Expenditure Areas, and Stable Growth Regions. Each cluster reflects different purchasing power, welfare conditions, and strategic market potential. The study concludes that K-Means clustering can provide a useful decision-support framework for businesses and policymakers in designing targeted, efficient, and region-based market segmentation strategies.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the world's largest producers of kratom (Mitragyna speciosa), yet it captures only a small share of the value generated along the global kratom value chain. The enactment of Permendag 20/2024 and 21/2024 in October 2024, which prohibits raw kratom leaf exports and mandates processed-form exports, has created both an obligation and an opportunity to move downstream into high-purity extraction. This study assesses the financial feasibility and macroeconomic impact of producing fifty-percent mitragynine extract at a commercial scale of one hundred kilograms per month, using the case of PT MIT as the unit of analysis. An integrated framework combining a firm-level Cost-Benefit Analysis with an Input-Output Analysis is applied, grounded in validated pilot operational data and the 2020 Indonesian Input-Output Table. Three scenarios distinguished by capacity utilization of seventy-five, eighty-five, and ninety-three percent are evaluated at a fifteen-percent discount rate. The financial results indicate strong viability: the base case yields a net present value of Rp 11.80 billion, an internal rate of return of 37.59 percent, a profitability index of 2.31, and a discounted payback of 4.88 years. The macroeconomic results show that the pharmaceutical sector to which kratom extraction is mapped functions as a strong demand-pull sector, generating total economy-wide output of Rp 48.37 billion, supporting around ninety-three jobs, and contributing foreign exchange of USD 1.53 million per year. The study demonstrates that domestic down streaming aligns private profitability with national economic benefit.

Abstract

Communication failures are common in events. Ineffective communication leads to the failure of an event. One student music concert that has survived for nine years is the Fisip Duwe Gawe Event, organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM-KM) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Yogyakarta (UGJ) Cirebon. This study aims to examine the role of organizational communication and organizational culture in supporting the continuation of the Fisip Duwe Gawe event. A qualitative case study approach was used. Data were collected through interviews with several informants directly involved in the event's organization. Data analysis was conducted using source triangulation. The results of the study address the identified problem of how organizational communication and organizational culture exist within the Fisip Duwe Gawe event. Structured and participatory communication is one factor in the sustainability of the Fisip Duwe Gawe event, whose committee tends to change annually. The organizational culture within this event is also characterized by shared traditions and values passed down from generation to generation. Good communication and organizational culture within the Fisip Duwe Gawe event contribute to the event's survival and sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Human Development Index (HDI), population, Open Unemployment Rate (OUR), and economic growth on the crime rate in Central Java Province from 2018 to 2024. This study uses a quantitative method with a panel data regression approach that combines time series and cross-sectional data from districts and cities in Central Java Province. The analytical model used is the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The data used are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS). The results of the study show that the Human Development Index (HDI), population size, and the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) have a positive and significant effect on the crime rate in Central Java Province. Meanwhile, economic growth has a positive but insignificant effect on the crime rate. Increases in HDI, population, and the open unemployment rate tend to be followed by a rise in crime due to socio-economic pressures, urbanisation, population density, and the weakening of social control in society. On the other hand, economic growth has not been able to fully reduce crime because the benefits of economic development have not been distributed equally across the community. Thus, it is necessary to distribute development more equitably, expand employment opportunities, and strengthen social supervision in order to reduce the crime rate in Central Java Province.

Abstract

In the highly competitive SME landscape, maintaining customer loyalty is crucial for sustaining business growth and financial stability. This study investigates the influence of service quality and word-of-mouth (WOM) marketing on customer loyalty at Sri Dewi Kencana Garment in Tangerang Regency, Indonesia. The company experienced a 38.8% decline in repeat orders from 2023 to 2024, highlighting critical issues in service delivery and marketing strategies. The research aims to analyse the direct effect of service quality on customer loyalty, examine the impact of service quality on WOM marketing, evaluate the influence of WOM on loyalty, and explore the indirect effect of service quality on loyalty mediated by WOM. A sequential explanatory mixed-methods design was employed. Quantitative data were collected via structured questionnaires from 30 repeat customers and analysed using path analysis, whilst qualitative data from open-ended questionnaires and in-depth interviews provided contextual insights. Results show that service quality significantly affects customer loyalty both directly (? = 0.529; p = 0.002) and indirectly through WOM marketing (indirect effect = 0.404). Service quality also strongly influences WOM (? = 0.917; p = 0.000), and WOM positively impacts loyalty (? = 0.441; p = 0.007). Strategic analysis using SWOT and QSPM identified key priorities: professional image enhancement, standardised service SOPs, and structured WOM deployment. The study concludes that improving service quality and effectively leveraging WOM are critical for sustaining customer loyalty, offering actionable guidance for SMEs in similar contexts.

Abstract

This research investigates the role of strategic partnership as a mediator in the relationship between service diversification, environmental performance, and sustainability in waste management within the cement industry, focusing on PT Bangun Jaya Indonesia Tbk (AFR Division). This research aims to analyze the direct effect of service diversification and environmental performance on sustainability business, examine their direct effect on strategic partnership, test the direct effect of strategic partnership on sustainability business, and analyze the mediating role of strategic partnership in the relationship between service diversification and environmental performance on sustainability business. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational and experimental design, data were collected from all 121 employees using a structured questionnaire and supported by secondary data from company reports. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to analyze direct and mediated relationships among variables. The results indicate that service diversification does not directly affect sustainability business performance but significantly influences strategic partnerships. Environmental performance directly contributes to sustainability business but does not significantly affect strategic partnerships. Strategic partnerships have a positive and significant direct effect on sustainability business and mediate the impact of service diversification. However, strategic partnerships do not mediate the effect of environmental performance, as environmental initiatives are implemented independently by the company. These findings highlight the critical role of strategic partnerships in translating service diversification into sustainable business outcomes, while environmental performance operates directly. The research provides empirical evidence for cement companies to leverage partnerships strategically to enhance sustainable operational performance in waste management.
