Abstract

The development of literacy culture in Indonesia shows improvement, but has not yet fully reached a high level nationwide. Amid the wave of digitalization, literacy is no longer understood merely as the ability to read and write, but rather as a social practice and a medium of communication. This study aims to analyze the role of the Rumah Rengganis Literacy Community in Cirebon City as a medium for social expression and reflection. The study employs a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with five informants, observation, documentation, journals, and books. Data analysis utilizes symbolic interaction theory grounded in the concepts of mind, self, and society to understand the process of meaning-making through literacy interactions. The findings reveal that literacy at Rumah Rengganis is interpreted as a practice of social meaning-making that connects texts with the realities of life. This community functions as an egalitarian space for symbolic interaction, where works and discussions shape the construction of social reality. Furthermore, Rumah Rengganis serves as an alternative, informal public space that fosters critical dialogue and intergenerational participation. This study recommends strengthening policy support, cross-community collaboration, and the development of further research to expand the role of independent literacy communities in building social awareness and literacy-based public spaces at the local level.

Abstract

Employee performance is a crucial factor in determining organizational success, particularly in industries facing increasing competition and operational transformation. PT PG Rajawali II Sindanglaut Unit, a state-owned sugar manufacturing company undergoing revitalization, requires highly productive employees to achieve its organizational objectives. However, differences in leadership practices, employee motivation, and work discipline may influence performance outcomes. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effects of leadership style, work motivation, and work discipline on employee performance, both partially and simultaneously. This research employed a quantitative associative approach involving 109 employees of PT PG Rajawali II Sindanglaut Unit. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using SPSS software. The analytical techniques included validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination test. The results revealed that leadership style had a positive but insignificant effect on employee performance. In contrast, work motivation and work discipline had positive and significant effects on employee performance, with work discipline emerging as the most dominant factor. Simultaneously, leadership style, work motivation, and work discipline significantly influenced employee performance. The model explained 41.8% of the variation in employee performance. In conclusion, improving employee motivation and strengthening work discipline are essential strategies for enhancing employee performance. Organizations should also foster adaptive leadership practices to support sustainable organizational effectiveness and competitiveness.

Abstract

MSMEs have a central role in boosting Jakarta's economy, so policies that support competitiveness and productivity need to be prioritized. This study assesses the effectiveness of the New Industrial Entrepreneurship Program (WUIB) which is part of the Integrated Entrepreneurship Development (PKT). Referring to the theory of production function, this study designed a quasi-experimental approach using Propensity Score Matching on thousands of business actors in the culinary and craft/fashion sectors to compare recipients of the WUIB program who received production facilities accompanied by technical training with non-recipient business actors. The results of empirical analysis show that facility recipients experience a significant increase in turnover of Rp10-16 million per year. This effect is consistent across model specifications and passes validity and robustness tests across various matching algorithms, indicating that policy interventions are effective. The impact is short-term but shows a multiplier effect that strengthens regional economic activity. The study also highlights the mitigation of limitations through the identification of potential spillover to actors outside the target group, limitations of cross-sectional design that limits long-term inference and potential interference of marketing programs, mentoring, financial reporting facilitation and capital facilitation as a series of CCP programs. The results of the socio-economic analysis emphasized the broad benefits for women-led MSMEs, for those expanding their workforce capacity, and for actors with a primary-secondary education background. These findings encourage policymakers to expand and continue the program as part of the CCP strengthening strategy with data-based targeting, as well as improving turnover-based performance monitoring through an integrated information.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work motivation and work discipline on the performance of Auto2000 Cirebon employees, both partially and simultaneously. The study used an associative quantitative approach with a population of 250 permanent and contract employees of Auto2000 Cirebon, and a sample of 152 respondents determined through proportionate stratified random sampling. Primary data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire (1–5) compiled based on 30 indicators of work motivation, work discipline, and employee performance variables, while secondary data were obtained from the company's internal reports and relevant previous studies. Data analysis was carried out using the PLS-SEM method with SmartPLS 4, through testing of the outer model (convergent validity, discriminant validity, and reliability) and inner model (multicollinearity, R-square, goodness of fit, and hypothesis testing). The results showed that work motivation had a negative and significant effect on employee performance with a path coefficient of -0.713 and a p-value of 0.000, while work discipline did not have a significant effect on employee performance with a p-value of 0.289. Simultaneously, work motivation and work discipline explained 48.6% of the variation in employee performance (R-square = 0.486), with the remaining 51.4% influenced by other variables outside the study model. These findings indicate an anomalous phenomenon in which the form of motivation applied has the potential to cause work pressure or burnout, suggesting that companies need to evaluate the design of their motivation systems and consider other factors such as work stress, job satisfaction, and leadership style.

Abstract

Renewable energy consumption has become a strategic concern for G20 countries, as their energy policies strongly influence global climate mitigation, energy security, and sustainable development. This study aims to analyze the effects of economic growth, the energy trilemma index, financial sector development, and urbanization on renewable energy consumption in G20 countries. The research employed a quantitative approach using balanced panel data from 18 G20 member countries over the period 2000–2021, yielding 396 observations. Data were obtained from the World Bank World Development Indicators and the World Energy Council Trilemma Index. The analytical method used panel regression, encompassing stationarity tests, cointegration tests, classical assumption tests, the Fixed Effect Model, the Random Effect Model, and the Hausman test, which selected the Fixed Effect Model as the most appropriate estimation model. The results show that economic growth has a significant positive effect on renewable energy consumption, supporting the Environmental Kuznets Curve perspective. The energy trilemma index also has a significant positive effect, indicating that energy security, equity, and environmental sustainability encourage renewable energy adoption. Financial sector development, however, has no significant aggregate effect, while urbanization has a significant negative effect, particularly in the developing country group. This study concludes that differentiated energy policies are needed to strengthen renewable energy transitions across G20 countries.

Abstract

Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a highly prevalent immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated inflammatory disease of the nasal mucosa. Ovalbumin (OVA)-induced AR animal models are widely used to evaluate potential therapeutic agents; however, no quantitative synthesis of treatment effects across pharmacological interventions has been performed. This study aimed to systematically review and meta-analyse the effects pharmacological and bioactive interventions on serum OVA-specific IgE levels, nasal rubbing scores, and nasal sneezing scores in OVA-induced AR animal models. PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus were searched from inception through 22 May 2026. Eligible studies were in vivo experimental studies using OVA-sensitised and intranasally challenged rodent models with at least one pharmacological intervention and an untreated or vehicle control group. Risk of bias was assessed using the SYRCLE tool. Standardised mean differences (SMDs) were pooled using random-effects models with the restricted maximum likelihood (REML) estimator and the Hartung–Knapp–Sidik–Jonkman (HKSJ) adjustment. Analyses were conducted in R using the metafor package. Fourteen intervention studies met the inclusion criteria. Pharmacological and bioactive interventions significantly reduced serum OVA-specific IgE levels (pooled SMD = ?3.03; 95% CI: ?4.77 to ?1.28; I² = 78.1%), nasal rubbing scores (pooled SMD = ?5.24; 95% CI: ?7.17 to ?3.31; I² = 80.2%), and nasal sneezing scores (pooled SMD = ?4.29; 95% CI: ?5.79 to ?2.78; I² = 78.5%). Substantial heterogeneity was observed across all outcomes. Leave-one-out sensitivity analyses confirmed the robustness and directionality of the pooled estimates. Pharmacological and bioactive interventions consistently and significantly attenuated serum OVA-specific IgE levels and nasal symptom scores in OVA-induced AR animal models.

Abstract

Increasing competition in Indonesia's life insurance industry has intensified the need for companies to retain policyholders and strengthen repurchase intention through trust, service quality, perceived value, and customer satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the effects of trust and perceived quality on customer satisfaction and repurchase intention, with perceived value as a mediating variable, among life insurance policyholders in Indonesia. A quantitative approach was applied using an online survey distributed to 240 active life insurance customers from leading brands, including AXA Mandiri, Allianz, Prudential, AIA, BNI Life, Manulife, ACA Insurance, and BRI Life. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The results show that trust positively and significantly affects perceived quality, perceived value, customer satisfaction, and repurchase intention. Perceived quality significantly influences perceived value and repurchase intention, but does not directly affect customer satisfaction. Perceived value and customer satisfaction significantly enhance repurchase intention, while perceived value mediates the relationship between trust and repurchase intention, as well as between perceived quality and customer satisfaction. In conclusion, perceived value is a crucial mechanism in strengthening customer satisfaction and repurchase intention, while trust remains the foundation of long-term customer relationships in life insurance services.
