Pedagogika: Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Kependidikan is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Medan Resource Center. The journal aims to facilitate academic articles and scholarly writings on the methods and practices of teaching, particularly as academic subjects, theoretical concepts, or in any area of education. It serves as a platform for teachers, teacher educators, or training institutions, instructors of all levels of education, as well as students and anyone interested in the field. The journal is published biannually in May and November and accepts articles in both Indonesian and English.

This research aims to determine the effect of flashcard media on the essay writing ability of first-grade students at SDN 104200 Karang Gading Village Labuhan Deli. An experimental design was employed with two groups: an experimental group taught using flashcard media and a control group taught using conventional methods. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test results showed that the pre-test and post-test scores of both groups were normally distributed. The experimental group showed significant improvement in writing ability, with Exact Sig. (2-tailed) values of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating the acceptance of H1. Similarly, the control group showed improvement with Exact Sig. (2-tailed) values of 0.000 < 0.05, confirming the effectiveness of conventional methods. However, flashcard media was found to have a greater influence on the students’ writing abilities compared to conventional methods. These findings suggest that flashcard media can be an effective tool to enhance early writing skills in elementary education.

This study aims to examine the effect of the cooperative learning model Talking Stick on the learning independence of fourth-grade students at SDN 101927 Sekip. The research employed an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The findings revealed that the Talking Stick cooperative learning model significantly influenced students' learning independence. The average independence score in the experimental class utilizing the Talking Stick model was 82.2, with a standard deviation of 9.06, compared to the control class employing conventional methods, which recorded an average independence score of 51.67 and a standard deviation of 7.18. Hypothesis testing showed a calculated t-value of 0.06, which was compared to the critical t-value at a 5% significance level (0.245). The results confirmed that the hypothesis was accepted, indicating that the Talking Stick learning model effectively enhances students' learning independence. This study underscores the importance of implementing cooperative learning strategies to foster students' autonomy and engagement in the learning process.

This study aimed to enhance the learning outcomes in natural sciences through the implementation of the scramble learning model for fifth-grade students at SD IT Plus Anbata, Medan Sunggal, Deli Serdang. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with 30 students as participants. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation and analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The study established a success criterion of ?85% of students achieving a score of ?85. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes after implementing the scramble learning model. In the first cycle, 80.33% of students reached the target score, which further increased to 90.36% in the second cycle. The improvement was attributed to modifications in cycle II, including smaller group sizes, more structured grouping, and rewards for quiet students. Since the success criteria met, the intervention was concluded in cycle II.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between the use of paper puppet media and students’ learning motivation in Social Studies subjects among fifth-grade students at MIS Al-Imam Klumpang during the 2022/2023 academic year. This research employs a quantitative approach using the descriptive analytical research method as developed by Sumadi Suryabrata (2013). The study involves 25 students, comprising 8 males and 17 females. The independent variable is the use of paper puppet media, while the dependent variable is students' learning motivation. The study was conducted in a single action cycle consisting of three stages: planning, implementation and observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and documentation, and analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. The results indicate a significance value of 0.068, which exceeds the threshold of 0.05, suggesting that there is no statistically significant relationship between the use of paper puppet media and students' learning motivation in Social Studies. These findings imply that other factors may have a more substantial influence on students' learning motivation, necessitating to explore alternative instructional strategies.

This study investigates the impact of the Environment-Based Learning Model on students' interest in learning in Class V at Islamiyah Private Elementary School during the 2023/2024 academic year. Using a quantitative research approach, the study employed experimental and control groups to measure the effectiveness of the learning model. The results indicate that the environment-based learning model significantly enhances students' interest in learning. The experimental group, which utilized this model, achieved an average score of 82.2 with a standard deviation of 9.06, whereas the control group obtained an average score of 51.67 with a standard deviation of 7.18. Hypothesis testing yielded a calculated t-value of 0.06, which, when compared to the t-table value (0.245 at a 5% significance level), confirmed the acceptance of the hypothesis. These findings suggest that integrating environment-based learning strategies can effectively improve students' engagement and academic motivation.

This study is motivated by the limited vocabulary acquisition among children, the lack of media variation in learning, and minimal student engagement in the learning process. The research aims to develop an effective quartet card media to enhance students' vocabulary at SDN 101968 Petumbukan. This study employs a research and development (R&D) approach based on the Borg & Gall model, following nine stages of development. The research subjects consist of 15 students. Data collection techniques include questionnaires and interviews, with research instruments comprising structured questionnaires and interview guidelines. The data were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive analysis with percentage calculations. The findings indicate that quartet cards are a viable instructional medium for improving elementary school students' vocabulary acquisition. This is supported by validation results from material experts, who rated the media as eligible (82.5%), media experts who classified it as highly viable (92%), initial field trials categorized as successful (86.9%), main field trials also classified as successful (88.0%), and operational field trials rated as successful (86.3%). The overall percentage from all trials reached 87.0%, indicating that the quartet card media is an effective tool for vocabulary development in elementary education.

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Discovery Learning model on the reading abilities of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 106805 Manunggal. The research employs a Quasi-Experimental design, involving two classes: an experimental class that implements the Discovery Learning model and a control class using conventional methods, with a total of 60 students. The study investigates: (1) whether the Discovery Learning model has a greater impact compared to conventional teaching methods; (2) whether students with higher reading abilities achieve better learning outcomes; and (3) whether there is an interaction between the Discovery Learning model and students' reading abilities in influencing their academic performance. The results indicate that the Discovery Learning model significantly enhances students' reading abilities. Students with higher reading proficiency demonstrated superior academic performance compared to those with lower reading skills. Furthermore, a significant interaction was observed between the Discovery Learning model and students' reading abilities, contributing to more optimal learning outcomes. These findings suggest that the Discovery Learning model is an effective instructional strategy for improving reading skills in elementary school students.

This study aims to analyze the effect of using the speed reading method on the reading speed ability of fourth-grade students at SD 104185 Sei Semayang. The Skimming technique is a crucial skill that enables students to quickly filter essential information and enhance their comprehension of reading materials. This research employs a quantitative approach with an experimental method. The study subjects consist of 33 fourth-grade students. The findings indicate that the use of the Skimming technique significantly influences students' reading speed ability. This is evidenced by the comparison of pretest and posttest scores, where the average pretest score for effective reading speed (KEM) was 90.50, categorized as moderate. After implementing the speed reading method, the average posttest score increased to 144.61, classified as high. Additionally, the results of the t-test analysis showed that the t-value (tcount = 5.722) exceeded the critical t-value (ttable = 3.622), leading to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of H1. These findings confirm that the speed reading method significantly enhances students' reading speed ability at SD 104185 Sei Semayang. Therefore, this method can be effectively utilized as a teaching strategy to improve elementary students' reading skills.

The research utilized a quasi-experimental design with a control and experimental group. The results indicate that Prototype Learning falls within the good category, as does student independence, with the experimental class achieving an average score of 82.2. In contrast, students who did not use Prototype Learning obtained an average score of 51.67. The standard deviation values were 9.06 for the experimental group and 7.18 for the control group. Hypothesis testing revealed a calculated t-value (th) of 0.06, which was compared to the t-table value of 0.245 at a 5% significance level with N = 60. Since 0.245 > 0.06, the hypothesis was accepted, confirming the significant effect of the cooperative Talking Stick learning model on student independence. These findings suggest that implementing cooperative learning strategies can enhance student autonomy in primary education settings.
