Abstract

Cyber security is becoming a crucial issue in the digital age, especially with the increasing number of cyber attacks on information systems in the public and private sectors. Ethical hacking or ethical hacking is one of the approaches that is beginning to be widely applied to identify and close security gaps in systems. This article discusses the basic concepts of ethical hacking, the process of its implementation, and its urgency in securing information systems. This study was conducted through a literature study approach from various academic and technical sources. The results show that ethical hacking can significantly reduce the potential for cyberattacks with a systematic preventive approach. The study also highlights the importance of legality and Ethics in its implementation, as well as the need for supportive policies at the institutional level.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategies implemented by Gozeal, a local Indonesian fashion brand, in shaping a positive brand image among Generation Z. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, social media observation, and digital documentation. The findings indicate that Gozeal effectively builds emotional engagement through two-way digital interactions, relevant storytelling, collaborations with influencers, and community-based activities. These strategies have successfully shaped a brand image perceived as creative, trendy, and communicative—aligned with Generation Z’s values such as originality, self-expression, and participation. The study emphasizes the importance of authentic, personalized, and interactive marketing approaches in fostering brand loyalty and a positive brand perception in the digital era.

Abstract

The phenomenon of flexing on social media is increasingly developing as a form of self-image, especially among students. Flexing is a behavior that displays certain achievements, wealth, or lifestyles with the aim of gaining social validation. This study aims to explore the subjective meaning of the flexing phenomenon on social media and its impact on the digital identity and social relations of Communication Science students at Malikussaleh University. Using a qualitative approach and phenomenological method, this study serves the experiences and meanings of students purposively from Communication Science students of the 2022 intake who actively use social media. The data collection technique was carried out through in-depth interviews, which were then analyzed thematically. The results of the study showed that students interpreted flexing as part of personal branding but also as a form of social pressure. Flexing can increase self-confidence and motivation, but also cause anxiety and feelings of insecurity due to social comparison. In the context of social interaction, flexing has ambivalent impacts, such as expanding social networks but can also create social distance. This study emphasizes the importance of digital literacy and reflective awareness in using social media in a healthy way.

Abstract

This study explores the representation of moral values in the movie Budi Pekerti using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. The film portrays various moral challenges in the digital era, such as cyberbullying and the erosion of ethical behavior on social media, through the story of a main character who faces a personal moral crisis. The objectives of this research are to identify the moral values depicted in the film through the levels of denotation, connotation, and myth. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with semiotic analysis used to interpret visual signs and dialogues in the film. The findings reveal six key moral values reflected in the narrative: (1) upholding justice, (2) honesty in speech, (3) moral courage, (4) mutual assistance, (5) realism and critical thinking in facing situations, and (6) responsibility. These values are analyzed not only as literal messages but also as social symbols that reflect contemporary societal issues. The study concludes that Budi Pekerti effectively conveys profound moral messages through its strong narrative and symbolic structure.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has revolutionized how humans can communicate, including in Islamic preaching activities. Preaching, which used to be conventional, has now expanded into the digital realm through various social media platforms, one of which is Instagram. The @memeislam.id account has succeeded in implementing framing elements, namely defining problems, identifying causes, providing moral assessments, and offering solutions in conveying a message about Islam in a light, communicative, and contextual way. By combining humor, attractive visuals, and popular language, this account is able to create strong emotional resonance and encourage spiritual reflection among the audience. The success of this strategy is also shown by the high level of audience interaction in the form of reflective comments and emotional involvement.

Abstract

Podcast “LOGIN” with Habib Husein Ja’far as a form of contextual and transformative digital da’wah. Moderate Islam or wasathiyah is understood as a balanced, fair, and tolerant approach to diversity, and is relevant to the challenges of the times. In this context, podcasts become a new medium that allows da’wah to be carried out in a dialogical, reflective manner, and touches the emotional aspects of the audience, especially the younger generation. Habib Husein combines Islamic values ​​with a cultural approach through humor, modern analogies, and inclusive and humanist pop language. This strategy shows that da’wah is not just about conveying dogma, but also building understanding that is constructive and relevant to everyday life. Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis is used to see how the production and consumption of discourse in this podcast represents participatory, creative, and responsive religious practices to social dynamics. Da’wah through podcasts is not only a means of conveying messages, but also a forum for interaction, contestation, and reinterpretation of religious meaning in the digital era.

Abstract

The film Tuhan Ijinkan Aku Berdosa presents an in-depth description of moral and spiritual conflict through the inner turmoil experienced by the main character. This abstract explains that the factors underlying the conflict are complex and interrelated, including psychological conditions, social backgrounds, and religious aspects that underlie the lives of the characters. Conflict does not only arise from external events, but also as a result of the clash between values that are normatively believed by a Muslim and the reality of life that takes actions that deviate from Islamic teachings. The main character grew up in a stressful environment, marked by poverty and social alienation, so that he felt he had no other choice but to take a path that was considered morally wrong. A deep sense of guilt also emerged as a consequence of behavior that was contrary to religious values, which then triggered a spiritual conflict that further complicated his inner state. In addition, a weak understanding of religious teachings and a lack of spiritual guidance also played an important role in exacerbating the conflict. When individuals grow up without strong religious direction or feel alienated from the religious community, they tend to seek meaning and salvation in deviant ways, thus becoming further from the path that is approved by God.

Abstract

Many consumers rarely read nutrition labels on food packaging due to difficulty understanding the information. This research develops a mobile application that can scan nutrition labels using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology to address this issue. The application was developed using Flutter and RAD methodology. Its main features include nutrition label scanning, health monitoring, and alerts when consumed nutrients exceed recommended limits based on age and health conditions. From testing results, OCR accuracy reached 74% for text detection and 72% for nutritional value identification. The highest accuracy of 90% was achieved under bright lighting conditions with flat labels. However, accuracy dropped dramatically to 47% with curved labels or poor lighting. Other features such as login, user profile, health monitoring, and scanning history all function properly. The developed application is expected to help consumers more easily read and understand nutritional information on food labels. Future development requires enhanced OCR algorithms to detect text more accurately under various lighting conditions and image capture angles.

Abstract

Politeknik Katolik Mangunwijaya (Polteka Mangunwijaya) is a higher education institution formed by the merger of three academies in Semarang. These three academies combined to become popular study programs among the community, offering Diploma III programs in Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, and Health Analysis. Over time, Politeknik Katolik Mangunwijaya encountered challenges in managing inventory to support organizational effectiveness and decision-making by the structural leadership. To optimize asset management, a web-based inventory information system application was developed. The choice of the web platform was based on its compatibility with all devices. The system was built using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method with PHP programming language, the Laravel framework, Tailwind CSS, and a MySQL database. This application primarily supports the vice director, superadmin, and program study admins in stock recording, item identification using barcodes, and detailed inventory transaction reporting. This system replaces the manual recording method, which was previously considered inefficient and prone to data loss or inaccuracies. After functional testing and user acceptance, the system has proven to operate smoothly as planned and provides an effective solution for managing inventory at Politeknik Katolik Mangunwijaya.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed the way religious values are broadcast, including in the context of preaching. Platforms such as YouTube have become a new space for preachers to convey religious messages to the wider community. One channel that has attracted public attention is @NussaOfficial. This channel carries a moderate preaching approach with a modern and creative presentation style. This study aims to analyze the representation of moderate Islam in digital preaching content on the @NussaOfficial YouTube channel using the perspective of Stuart Hall's discourse theory. The critical discourse analysis method is used to understand how meanings are formed and represented through word choice, narratives, and visualizations. The results of the study show that NussaOfficial has succeeded in representing Islam as a religion that is peaceful, tolerant, inclusive, and relevant to modern life, while also forming a moderate Islamic identity amidst the flow of digital information.
