Abstract

This study aims to describe parenting patterns in families with early marriages and analyze their influence on the social development of early childhood in Mulyorejo Village. The focus of the study is on how parenting practices are applied by parents who married at a young age, and how these patterns shape children's social behavior, interaction skills, and self-adjustment in their peer environment. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that early marriage families apply three main parenting styles, namely authoritarian, permissive, and democratic, each of which has a different impact on social development. Democratic parenting tends to produce children who are independent, communicative, and able to interact positively; authoritarian parenting is associated with closed-mindedness, low self-esteem, and passivity in socializing; while permissive parenting influences a lack of self-control and understanding of social boundaries. This study recommends improving parenting education for parents of early marriages, especially regarding democratic parenting, which better supports the optimal social development of young children

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of theme-based motor activities at TK Labschool UPI Tasikmalaya, identifying supporting factors, barriers, and their impact on child development. Integrating motor activities into thematic learning is crucial for stimulating holistic development, yet it is often not consistently implemented. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method, collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects included the principal, teachers, and students. The results indicate that gross and fine motor activity programs are systematically designed and integrated into the Weekly Learning Plan (PPM) aligned with specific learning themes. Evaluation is conducted continuously using checklists and anecdotal notes. The findings demonstrate that this approach effectively improves children’s motor skills, self-confidence, and active participation. The program’s success is further supported by strong collaboration between the school and parents. This study recommends the theme-based motor integration model as a reference for Early Childhood Education (ECE) institutions to enhance learning quality

Abstract

Religious moderation is a fundamental concept in maintaining social harmony within a multicultural society such as Indonesia, and early childhood education represents a strategic stage for instilling values of tolerance, inclusivity, and respect for diversity. This article aims to analyze the concept of religious moderation, identify challenges in its implementation, and formulate strategies for strengthening religious moderation in early childhood education. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method using a literature-based integrative review approach, analyzing 15 sources consisting of national and international journal articles, academic books, and official government policy documents. The findings indicate that religious moderation in early childhood education can be effectively implemented through thematic learning integration, teacher role modeling, inclusive school culture, and collaboration among schools, parents, and the wider community. However, several challenges persist, including limited teacher understanding, insufficient continuous training, the influence of social media, and resistance from local cultural norms. The originality of this article lies in its comprehensive synthesis of conceptual and practical perspectives on religious moderation that specifically focuses on early childhood education by linking Indonesia’s national policy framework with global multicultural and citizenship education discourse. The study concludes that strengthening religious moderation from an early age requires collaborative strategies, curriculum reinforcement, and sustained capacity building for educators to foster tolerant character development and prepare children to engage constructively with global diversity

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of a physical motor skills development program for early childhood, with a particular focus on evaluation and follow-up at Pertiwi Kindergarten DWP. The program is designed to understand how this development is systematically implemented to support holistic child development. The research method used is a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of daily activities. This approach allows for authentic and comprehensive data collection on the motor skill development process. Implementation results indicate that gross and fine motor skill development is carried out in a structured manner and adapted to the child's developmental stage, using engaging and experience-based methods to increase child participation. Program evaluation is carried out continuously by educators through observation sheets and daily checklists that include motor development indicators, with assessments carried out by educators who are most competent in understanding the child's abilities. The evaluation results then serve as the basis for formulating follow-up learning, such as providing additional activities for children who have met the indicators or additional guidance for those who need it. Overall, this program demonstrates systematic, authentic implementation and is tailored to the child's individual abilities, thus contributing to optimal motor development

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of parents in monitoring the growth and development of early childhood children and the forms of monitoring conducted at home. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach through in-depth interviews with five parents of children aged 4–5 years in Medan Denai District. The results indicate that parents play a role in three main ways: observing their children's development at home, providing stimulation as needed, and utilizing health services such as integrated health posts (Posyandu). Monitoring is carried out on speaking, walking, playing, and physical growth, while stimulation is provided through play, reading, chatting, and drawing. However, monitoring is not comprehensive because parents tend to focus on physical aspects, while social-emotional development, independence, and cognitive development are less considered. The use of Posyandu is also limited to physical examinations, resulting in incomplete information on children's development. These findings provide theoretical contributions to the study of Early Childhood Education and parenting, particularly in strengthening the concept of family involvement in monitoring child development. Practically, the results of this study can form the basis for developing parent education programs and collaboration with health workers for more comprehensive monitoring. The study recommends improving parents' understanding of development indicators through ongoing education and support from health workers so that child growth and development monitoring can be carried out optimally

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of parents in shaping early childhood character amid the rapid development of the digital era and globalization. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the research involved 10 parents and 3–6 teachers from Raudhatul Athfal (RA) Al-Fajar in Medan as participants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and literature review. The findings show that parental involvement—particularly in monitoring children’s digital media use, providing behavioral modeling, and maintaining open communication—significantly contributes to the development of moral, social, and emotional character in children aged 4–6 years. Parents who consistently supervise gadget use and instill values such as empathy, discipline, and responsibility demonstrated greater effectiveness in strengthening children’s character. However, limited digital literacy and time constraints remain major challenges for parents. This study highlights the need for collaboration between families, schools, and communities to create a supportive environment for character education. The results provide practical implications for strengthening family-based character development strategies in navigating digital challenges and global cultural influences
