Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teachers in shaping the religious character of early childhood through the habituation of Duha prayer at PAUD Al-Vatnoor in Serang City using a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects were classroom teachers and Group B children aged 5-6 years. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that teachers play an essential role as mentors, role models, and facilitators in habituating children to perform Duha prayer regularly. The Duha prayer activity is conducted every morning after exercise and breakfast and is enthusiastically attended by most children. Through this activity, children exhibit religious behaviors such as praying before and after activities, saying "Bismillah" and "Alhamdulillah," showing respect to teachers, and expressing gratitude. Challenges encountered include children's lack of focus and limited parental support, which teachers overcome through a loving and motivational approach and collaboration with parents. The implications of this research emphasize that Duha prayer habituation can serve as an effective strategy for forming religious character from an early age, providing practical guidance for PAUD teachers in integrating spiritual values into daily routines. This study contributes theoretically to the field of early childhood character education based on religious values and practically offers a replicable model for other educational institutions seeking to develop children's spiritual foundation through consistent, enjoyable, and age-appropriate religious habituation practices

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low visual spatial ability in children aged 5-6 years in Darussalam Kindergarten. It is seen in some children who do not yet know colors, do not fully understand the concept of space, direction, and shape, when asked to explain the left or right direction, the route to their house, objects or buildings they encounter (strong in spatial memory), make designs and like to imagine. This study aims to analyze how the implementation of puzzle games in developing visual spatial intelligence in children aged 5-6 years in Darussalam Kindergarten, Serang City and analyze whether puzzle games in developing visual spatial intelligence in children aged 5-6 years in Darussalam Kindergarten, Serang City. and . This research is a classroom action research carried out in three cycles using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using observation, tests, interviews, and documentation. Based on the qualitative data analysis conducted in three intervention cycles, it can be concluded that puzzle games are a very effective and useful tool for improving children's visual spatial intelligence

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the singing method in developing reading skills of children aged 5-6 years at RA Cahaya Cemerlang, Serang City. The research was motivated by low reading interest and challenges in letter recognition among early childhood learners. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the singing method was effectively implemented through the selection of educational songs relevant to learning themes and children's developmental stages, supported by visual media and physical movements. Key findings demonstrate a 75% increase in child participation, 80% improvement in letter recognition, and 70% enhancement in reading simple words over three days of observation. The singing method also positively influenced children's learning motivation, self-confidence, and social skills. The implications of this research provide practical contributions for early childhood teachers in designing enjoyable and contextual reading learning strategies, as well as serving as a foundation for developing arts-based curricula in early childhood education institutions. Theoretically, this study reinforces multimodal learning theories in early childhood education. The study concludes that the singing method is an effective strategy for teaching reading to young children

Abstract

Early childhood education requires learning activities that are appropriate to children's developmental characteristics. One important component in supporting meaningful learning is the use of learning media. This article aims to analyze the use of media in early childhood learning, the types of media that can be utilized, their benefits for children's development, and the factors that need to be considered by teachers in selecting learning media. This study employed a qualitative approach with a literature review method. Data were obtained from scientific journal articles and books discussing early childhood education, learning media, digital learning, interactive multimedia, and educational media. The data were analyzed through content analysis by identifying, comparing, and interpreting findings from relevant literature. The results indicate that learning media can facilitate the delivery of learning materials, increase children's attention and motivation, provide concrete learning experiences, and stimulate various aspects of child development. Learning media may include concrete materials, visual media, audio-visual media, educational games, interactive multimedia, digital media, and culturally based media. However, the use of media should not be oriented merely toward technological sophistication. Teachers need to consider children's age, developmental stage, learning objectives, safety, accessibility, attractiveness, ease of use, and the suitability of media with the learning environment. Therefore, the use of learning media in early childhood education needs to be planned, contextual, interactive, and accompanied by appropriate teacher guidance.

Abstract

Nature-based learning is an educational approach that utilizes the natural environment as a learning resource and provides children with direct, meaningful, and contextual learning experiences. This article aims to examine strategies for implementing nature-based learning to enhance learning experiences among early childhood learners. The study employed a qualitative approach using a literature review method. Data were collected from relevant scientific journal articles, books, and academic publications discussing nature-based learning, outdoor learning, early childhood education, environmental awareness, and children's development. The collected literature was analyzed through content analysis by identifying, classifying, comparing, and synthesizing relevant findings. The results indicate that nature-based learning can provide children with opportunities to explore, observe, experiment, communicate, solve simple problems, and interact directly with their surroundings. Effective strategies include outdoor activities, gardening, exploration of natural objects, environmental observation, field trips, nature-based play, environmental projects, and the use of natural materials in learning activities. Nature-based learning can support cognitive, language, physical-motor, social-emotional, creative, and naturalistic development. Its implementation requires careful planning, appropriate selection of activities, attention to children's safety, teacher facilitation, and systematic assessment. Therefore, nature-based learning should be implemented as an active, contextual, enjoyable, and child-centered approach that connects learning objectives with children's real experiences in the natural environment

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of string pull painting using tote bags on developing children’s creativity at Al-Azhar Ranah Kindergarten, IV Koto District, Agam. Based on initial observations, it was found that 8 out of 12 children had not yet demonstrated creativity, and stimulation was still limited to drawing and coloring activities. Most children tended to imitate the teacher's drawings or their peers' artwork and were unable to develop ideas, explore colors, or create shapes based on their imagination. Therefore, activities that provide opportunities for children to explore and sexpress their ideas are needed, one of which is string-pulling painting using tote bags. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 12 children from Class B (5–6 years old). Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The results showed that the average creativity score increased from 9.67 in the pre-test to 12.75 in the post-test. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test yielded significance values of 0.386 for the pre-test and 0.134 for the post-test, indicating that the data were normally distributed. Furthermore, the Paired Samples T-Test resulted in a t-value of -9.172 with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that string pull painting using tote bags has a significant effect on developing children's creativity at Al-Azhar Ranah Kindergarten, IV Koto District, Agam
