Abstract

The purpose of this study was to categorize the soil fertility status in Teluk Elpaputih District, Central Maluku Regency. This case study uses the National soil classification system and Soil Taxonomy. The study area is placed on flat-wavy physiography (slopes 0–15 %) by the flexible observation method of the grid. In order to ensure the ground association, observation lines are 800 meters apart and checking paths are located every 400 meters. According to the National Soil Classification System, four types of soil are found: Regosol, Alluvial, Gleisol, and Cambisol. The equivalent of Soil Taxonomy has two orders Entisol and Inceptisol, four suborders Psamment, Aquent, Fluvent, Udepts, four great group Udipasmments, Hydraquents, Udifluvents, Dystrudepts, and four subgoups Aquic Udipasmments, Typic Hydraquents, Typic Udifluvents, and Oxic In addition, the soil fertility status in the study area units ranged from low to high, namely PL0G1 (high), PL0G2 (medium) land units, PL0G3 (medium), and UL1G3 (low).

Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine the physical properties of gembili starch from local area, taking into type of gembili and the duration of annealing time treatments. A factorial randomized design was employed, consisting of two factors - the type of gembili (ordinary and kapok) and the duration of annealing time (0, 12, 16, and 20 hours) with three replications. This resulted in eight treatment combinations, and various parameters were analyzed, including water content, ash content, swelling power, water absorption, pH, and amylose content. The results of the physical property analysis revealed that annealing-modified gembili starch had a moisture content ranging from 10.25% to 13.48%, ash content ranging from 0.11% to 0.36%, swelling power ranging from 19.25 to 33.41 g/g, water absorption ranging from 15.3% to 20.9%, pH ranging from 6.2 to 6.5, and amylose content ranging from 20.89% to 26.2%. Overall, this study provides valuable insights into the physical properties of gembili starch in relation to the type of gembili treatment and the duration of annealing time.

Abstract

Rengginang hotong seeds are a traditional Indonesian snack made from Setaria italica seeds. Corn flour was added to rengginang hotong seed formulations to diversify the uses of dry corn seeds. This study aimed to determine the optimal formulation of rengginang hotong seeds with corn flour in terms of chemical and organoleptic properties. A randomized complete block design with three replications was used to evaluate five formulations of rengginang hotong seeds with varying proportions of corn flour (20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%). The chemical properties measured were water content, protein content, fat content, ash content, and carbohydrate content. The organoleptic properties measured were color, taste, aroma, texture, and overall acceptability. The results showed that the formulation with 60% corn flour had the highest overall acceptability, with the following chemical composition: water content 10.373%, protein content 9.321%, fat content 6.150%, ash content 8.251%, and carbohydrate content 76.132%. The organoleptic properties of the formulation with 60% corn flour were as follows: color 3.64, taste 3.88, aroma 3.72, texture 3.36, and overall acceptability 3.2.

Abstract

is research aims to study nutrients status of N, P, and K in Savana Jaya Village, District of Waeapo, Buru Regency. This research was descriptive and using survey method in the field. Soil samples were composited taken from 5 subsites with 25 m distance from sampling center point. Respondents were selected by using a purposive sampling method, and production data was collected by interviewing farmers. The results showed that the total N status in the Savana Jaya village was low (0,10-0,12%) to very low (0,09%), total P status was moderate (23-38 mg/100 g) to very high (68 mg/100 g), and total K status was low (10-13 mg/100 g) to moderate (30 mg/100 g). The proposed balanced-fertilizer management to support rice fields in the study area is site-specific nutrient management (PHSP) using NPK compound fertilizers combined with urea, Ponsta and Pelangi fertilizers based on nutrients and soil fertility status in the study area, including adding lime to increase soil pH, adding petrorganic organic matter to increase soil C-Organic and soil CEC.

Abstract

The aim of this research is that hotong seeds can be preserved for a long time so that they can be stored and used for cultivation in the next planting season. This research was conducted at the Tissue Culture Laboratory and Plant Physiology Laboratory at the Faculty of Agriculture, Pattimura University, Ambon, which took place from February to May 2021. Completely randomized design method, two factors, three replications. The first factor was seeds in open space (A0), seeds in aluminum foil (A1), seeds in glass bottles (A2), seeds in clear plastic (A3), and seeds in white cloth (A4). Another factor is the retention time (B) which consists of three stages, namely: 1 month (B1), 2 months (B2), and 3 months (B3) storage. BNJ test and Anova analysis at 95% confidence level. The treatment to maintain the quality of the hotong seeds was the 3rd month storage aluminum foil (A3B3) which could maintain a moisture content of 9.4%, PTM 80.67%, and the growth rate and vigor of hotong seeds at 81%, and the worst treatment in maintaining the quality of viability and vigor. seeds were calico fabric treated in the 3rd month of storage (A1B3).

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the proper drying time to produce dried sweets banda nutmeg with the best chemical and organoleptic properties. This study used a completely randomized design with one factorial with four treatment levels: sun drying, drying cabinet dryer 18, 19, and 20 hours. The parameters analyzed were chemical tests (moisture content, ash content, and total sugar) and organoleptic tests (color, aroma, taste, texture, overall). The results showed that treatment with a drying time of 18 hours produced the best-sweets banda nutmeg with chemical characteristics of 11.44% water content, 0.84% ash content, 45.89% total sugar, and based on the hedonic organoleptic test showed like color (3 .20), liking (3.04), liking texture (3.08). In contrast, for hedonic quality, it offers a brown-yellow color (2.48), nutmeg flavor (3.36), and slightly chewy texture (2.16 ).

Abstract

his study aims to identify the morphological and developmental characteristics of the soil and classify the soil type in a toposequence in Negeri Assilulu, Central Maluku Regency. This research used a survey method with transect observation distances and profile observation types. The results showed that there were differences in color characteristics both between layers and between profiles. The three profiles have a distribution of texture classes from loam to dusty clay. The structure of the soil is rounded cuboid, fine-medium in size, and the level of development is weak to moderate. The consistency of the soil is slightly sticky to sticky, has ABwC genetic horizon. Soil type categories in the three soil profiles are Cambisol, including developing soil.
