KABASTRA adalah sebuah jurnal double blind peer-review yang didedikasikan untuk memublikasikan hasil penelitian di bidang bahasa dan sastra. Semua publikasi dalam jurnal KABASTRA bersifat akses terbuka yang memungkinkan artikel tersedia secara bebas online. Pada awal didirikannya, KABASTRA dikelola dan diterbitkan oleh UPT Bahasa Universitas Tidar, lalu selanjutnya melakukan kerja sama dengan HISKI Kedu untuk membantu para dosen, akademisi, praktisi, peneliti, guru, dan masyarakat umum dalam menyebarkan hasil penelitiannya. Jurnal KABASTRA terbit 2 kali dalam satu tahun, yaitu bulan Juni dan Desember. Abstract

Literary works, including folklore, reflect the thoughts of the people who support them. Stories containing curses are also expressions of the supporting community. This study attempts to reveal the background of the emergence of curses in several folklore in Java. Second, it reveals the dominance of the background for the emergence of the curse in Java. Third, to describe the dominance of the emergence of curses in folklore in West Java, Central Java, East Java and Yogyakarta. This study departs from the background problem of what underlies the emergence of curses in Javanese folklore. The method used is a qualitative description method with careful and thorough reading and recording. The result of this study is a description of the background of the emergence of curses in folklore, related to family, moral, social, and political problems. The conclusion that can be formulated is that the presence of curses in Javanese folklore is motivated by family, social, moral or ethical, and political issues.

Abstract

Night Visions is Imagine Dragons’s debut album released on 4th September 2012. The aims of this study are to identify and analyze the figurative language and the contextual meaning found in the songs lyrics in Night Visions (Deluxe Version) album by Imagine Dragons. The method applied in this study is qualitative research method. The data for this study was gathered by carefully reading the song lyrics and listening to the tracks from Imagine Dragons album Night Visions (Deluxe Version). Grouping data and eliminating data are two further steps in data collection. Following the study, it was discovered that the lyrics of the song in Night Visions (Deluxe Version) album by Imagine Dragons contain a total of seven types of figurative language as well as the meaning of the figurative language. Personification, Metaphor, Hyperbole, Idiomatic Expression, Simile, Metonymy and Irony. Also by utilizing the generalized meaning for each song lyrics in Night Visions (Deluxe Version) album by Imagine Dragons, the album expresses about the struggle of the musician to build and mantain his career as a ordinary people who has recently made his musical debut. How the musician has struggled in life, and also reveals a part of himself that is rarely seen by others. Also the musicians struggle to keep his relationship with his loved ones.

Abstract

The background of the thesis writing is the low learning outcomes of students in the Indonesian language subject matter of debate texts. The application of learning models and learning media that are not appropriate in learning results in low student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Everyone Is A Techer Here learning model assisted by the media padlet on the learning outcomes of debate texts at SMAN 12 Tangerang Selatan City, in class X MIPA 3 and X MIPA 4. The method used was quantitative with a nonequivalent control group research design. design. The results showed that there was an influence of the Everyone Is A Techer Here learning model assisted by the media padlet on the learning outcomes of the debate text. Based on the results of the experimental class hypothesis test obtained (t count ) -13.857 <0.05 (t table) 1.703, Based on these criteria that t count < t table then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the results of the control class hypothesis test obtained (t count ) -3.307 <0.05 (t table) 1.703 Based on these criteria that t count < t table then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be stated that there is a difference between the average value of the results overall control class student learning.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the lack of availability of learning media to write Pantun in class VII. This research and development was carried out to produce: 1) Scrapbook media in learning to write rhymes for class VII, 2) the level of feasibility and response to the developed media. The research method adopts the steps of Research and Development (R & D) Borg & Gall in Emzir which limits research in a small scale in seven stages, namely: (1) research and information gathering, (2) product design, (3) product validation, (4) product revision, (5) product trial, (6) product revision, and (7) product results. Scrapbook media is validated by two experts, namely material experts and media experts. The results of product validation were obtained: 1) The percentage of material expert validation obtained a score of 95% with very decent criteria, 2) The percentage of media expert validation obtained a score of 96.66% with very decent criteria. The overall results in general, both the validation of material experts and media experts on Scrapbook media, are very feasible to be used without improvement. In addition, the results of student responses in the initial trial obtained a score of 93.12% with very feasible criteria and the results of student responses in the limited trial obtained a score of 90.33% with very feasible criteria. Based on the data obtained, it shows that the development of Scrapbook media on rhyme writing skills in class VII gets a very good response and is suitable for use as a medium for learning to write rhymes in class VII.

Abstract

This study aims to present a post-independence picture that is displayed in literary and artistic works, examples of drama scripts. As can be seen in the drama script "Awal & Mira" by Utuy Tatang Sontani which has a post-independence setting. The research method used is the personality approach method and the sociology approach. The result of this research is that Indonesia which was already independent at that time was not yet fully independent as described in the drama script "Awal & Mira" which raised the suffering of post-independence Indonesian citizens.

Abstract

Language style in short stories is an important element in building a unique story. The choice of language and story development in a collection of short stories of a pair of old shoes by Sapardi Djoko Damono has a deep meaning. One of them is the personification style used to describe various conditions and feelings. The disclosure of the contents of the short story collection book is wrapped in a distinctive language style. Deep messages can be felt from the use of a unique language style. It is not only the imagination in the story that is conveyed but also the feelings of the author that are poured out properly. The existence of phenomena related to current conditions is a special attraction because it is presented in a unique style of language. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with observing, note-taking and literature study techniques.

Abstract

The use of woman language has distinctive characteristics that are different from the language used by man both in reality in life and in cyberspace. As for the content of the speech title on Najwa Sihab's Youtube channel, a woman speaker named Kiki Saputri is a representation of woman's language. The research method uses descriptive qualitative. The data such as words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that indicate woman language features. The source of the data comes from impressions that focus on Kiki Saputri's words. Data collection techniques are carried out by reading notes. The intepretative data analysis technique is description of the researcher in the woman language features of Lakoff's perpective. The results showed that a woman guest star named Kiki used seven of ten language features which included lexical hedges founded 5 data, increased intonation 4 data, intensifier 3 data, use of language according to the rules of 3 data, empty adjectives, emphatic stress, and polite speech each founded 1 data.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the value of local wisdom in the legend of Ki Buyut Batisari, Pabedilan District by the local community, (2) its use as a drama learning module in grade VIII junior high school. This type of research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The data from this study is the legend of Ki Buyut Batisari. Data collection techniques indirectly affect the acquisition of research data, therefore data collection techniques must be adapted to the research objectives. In this study, in obtaining data, the authors used data techniques in the form of: (1) Listening techniques, (2) Recording techniques. The results of this study can be concluded that the value of local wisdom in the legend describes research data related to the problem that has been formulated, namely the value of wisdom in the legend of Ki Buyut Batisari, Pabedilan District, Cirebon Regency in the form of: (1) mutual cooperation, (2) honesty, (3) Commitment, (4) Confidence, (5) Politeness, (6) Authority, (7) Honesty. Using it as a module contains KD 3.16 Examining the structure and language of local dramas that are read and heard, KD 4.16 Acting out the contents of local regional dramas that are read and heard. The implications of the value of local wisdom in the legend of Ki Buyut Batisari, Pabedilan Sub-District, can make it easier for teachers to explain cultural values ​​that can be used as lessons and students and generations will always preserve their local culture, especially local wisdom in the legend of Ki Buyut Batisari.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the habit of reading literature, (2) the skill of writing poetry, (3) the relationship between the habit of reading literature and the skill of writing poetry in class IX students of SMPN 3 Losari Brebes. This research is a qualitative correlation research. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques, the results of this study are as follows. First, based on the results of data analysis on the habit of reading literary works, it can be obtained that 4 students (12%) are in the very good category, 12 students (36%) are in the high category, 14 students (43%) are in the low category and 3 are in the very good category. students (9%) in the very low category. The reading habit of class IX students of SMPN 3 Losari Brebes can be said to be moderate. Second, based on the analysis of poetry writing skill data, information can be obtained that there are 8 students (24%) in the very high category, 7 students (21%) in the high category, 15 students (46%) in the low category and 3 students ( 9%) in the very low category. The skill of writing poetry for class IX students of SMPN 3 Losari Brebes can be said to be moderate. Third, there is a positive and significant relationship between reading habits and poetry writing skills in SMPN 3 Losari Brebes students. Pearson Correlation value of 0.918 (perfect category). The implication of the results of this study is that poetry writing skills are determined by several factors, one of which is the habit of reading literary works. To improve students' poetry reading skills, it is necessary to make efforts to increase the habit of reading literature which has a positive and significant relationship between the habit of reading literary works and the skill of writing.

Abstract

Menjaring Mata Angin is a novel by Triman Laksana. In the novel, the character Pertiwi is shown to be pregnant without having sex with men. Throughout her life, Pertiwi has experienced a lot of mental and physical stress due to her pregnancy. This article attempts to describe family domination or pressure on Mother Earth, namely pressure from father, mother, and siblings. In general, they cannot accept the condition of Pertiwi which is considered to have dishonored their extended family. The research data is in the form of words, sentences, paragraphs in Menjaring Mata Angin which contains domination or pressure exerted by the family on Mother Earth. This study uses intrinsic literary theory, namely examining things that are in literary works autonomously or objectively. The method used is the method of observing and noting. After reading in depth, the research data is recorded which will be used as material for analysis. After that the data is interpreted with inductive descriptive techniques to reach research conclusions. From the results of the study, it can be stated that the family put pressure on Pertiwi who got pregnant out of wedlock. However, Pertiwi remained strong in enduring suffering and was determined to protect the fetus she was carrying. It is the rigidity of women who become pregnant out of wedlock in maintaining the pregnancy that is the pressure in this study.
