Abstract

Hyaluronic acid as a socket preservation material can absorb large amounts of hydration and regulate appropriate pressure in the surrounding tissue, resulting in expansion of the extracellular space. The socket preservation technique used is a solution to bone loss due to tooth extraction. However, research on the hyaluronic acid (Gengigel) material in sockets with periodontitis has not yet been clearly studied. In this study, we will see an increase in the number of osteoblasts in the alveolar bone after tooth extraction in Wistar rats with periodontitis. To determine the increase in the number of osteoblasts after administering Hyaluronic acid to the tooth sockets of Wistar rats with periodontitis. An increase in the number of osteoblast cells was observed using a multi-head light microscope in 5 areas of the preparation at 400x magnification. The measurement results from 5 areas are averaged and a calculation is obtained for one preparation. There are 2 groups that will be used in this research, namely the Control group (without treatment), HA (given Gengigel). Each group was tested at 14 and 21 days after administering the material. The research results showed that the Hyaluronic Acid (Gengigel) group had a higher number of osteoblast cells than the control group. The one-way ANOVA test showed an average significance result of 0.000 (p < 0.05) for all groups. This indicates that there was a significant change in each treatment group. Giving hyaluronic acid to the tooth sockets of Wistar rats with periodontitis can increase the number of osteoblast cells.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of tax risk and leverage on firm value, with corporate governance acting as a moderating variable. The research focuses on manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period of 2017 to 2021. By using a purposive sampling method, the study selects companies based on specific criteria, including those that have consistently published audited financial statements in Rupiah. The independent variables in this study are tax risk and leverage, while corporate governance serves as the moderating variable. The dependent variable, firm value, is measured using Tobin’s Q, a widely accepted indicator. The analysis is conducted through panel data regression, with the Fixed Effect Model used to estimate the relationships among the variables. The results reveal that tax risk positively affects firm value, suggesting that effective tax management can enhance firm value by stabilizing cash flow and reducing tax penalties. However, leverage has a negative effect on firm value, as high debt levels increase financial risk, which may deter investors. Corporate governance significantly moderates the relationships, enhancing the positive effect of tax risk and reducing the negative impact of leverage on firm value. These findings underscore the importance of sound corporate governance practices in maintaining firm value by managing financial and tax-related risks. The study provides valuable insights for policymakers and corporate management on improving governance structures to optimize firm value.

Abstract

Kalianda Sub-District is one of the areas that is vulnerable to earthquakes and tsunamis because it is located on the west coast of Sumatra Island and the Sunda Strait has a potency from the eruption of Anak Krakatau Volcano. Increasing population growth also increases the risk of disaster impacts that are difficult to predict. This research aims to analyze the spatial dynamics of tsunami-prone areas in Kalianda District. This research uses multi-temporal land cover data, driving data on built-up land development factors, existing roads, slope, distance from the coastline, and distance from rivers. The method used is Cellular Automata Markov Chain which is used to model the development of built-up land, and the Berryman method for tsunami hazard analysis . Based on modeling results for 2031, the type of built land cover will experience a large increase. The tsunami danger level in Kalianda District is dominated by the low level covering an area of 4,741.80 ha, then the high level covering an area of 3,047.29 ha and the medium level covering an area of 1,243.66 ha. According to research results, the number of tsunami-prone areas increases every year. Therefore, we need to improve education and outreach to the public about tsunami dangers and effective evacuation procedures. The development and maintenance of evacuation support infrastructure, as well as the implementation of a reliable early warning system, are also very important to increasing community preparedness for tsunami disasters.

Abstract

This study investigates the reasons behind resistance to using the payment functionalities of proptech apps among users who have adopted the search features but not the payment feature. To explore this, the study employs Innovation Resistance Theory (IRT), mixed with variables from UTAUT2. Previous research showed that various barriers can influence user resistance to app payments. A mixed-methods approach is used in this research, combining qualitative preliminary testing and quantitative main testing. The study adopts convenience sampling to gather data. Data were collected through questionnaire and analyzed using Multiple Linear Regression Analysis in SPSS 27.0. The findings reveal that three main barriers—Risk, Tradition, and Image—significantly influence users from making payments through proptech apps. The Risk Barrier pertains to concerns over security and privacy. The Tradition Barrier involves users' preference for conventional method ways over alternatives. The Image Barrier relates to the perception of the app's reputation and trustworthiness. Future research recommendation include conducting discriminant analysis to compare non-adopters of proptech app payments distinct groups, incorporate demographic elements such as age, income, and gender as moderating variables and including additional independent variables that can expand the research scope. This study contributes to the existing literature by addressing user resistance to increase the adoption of digital payment functionalities in proptech applications. The findings can help app developers and marketers design better strategies to overcome these barriers and promote wider acceptance of proptech app payments.

Abstract

Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) represents a transitional stage between normal cognitive function and dementia, affecting memory and other cognitive abilities. This systematic review explores the impact of essential oils and mindfulness exercises on gene expression involved in MCI. Despite the prevalence of pharmacological treatments, they offer limited prevention of MCI progression to dementia. Non-pharmacological interventions, such as mindfulness exercises, have demonstrated cognitive benefits, albeit with moderate efficacy. Essential oils, used in aromatherapy, show promise in supporting cognitive improvement through their impact on amyloid-beta and cholinesterase pathways. This review synthesizes findings from multiple studies between 2017 and 2024, highlighting that combining essential oils and mindfulness exercises may offer enhanced therapeutic outcomes for individuals with MCI. Further research is needed to establish the efficacy of this integrative approach, which could slow the progression of MCI and improve patients' quality of life.

Abstract

This study examines the compliance of multinational companies with the Regional Minimum Wage (UMR) regulations in Indonesia and the factors contributing to violations. Although UMR is designed to protect workers' welfare, many companies still pay below the established standards. A qualitative research method was employed to collect data through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that UMR violations occur across various industrial sectors, with violation rates ranging from 10% to 20%. Factors contributing to these violations include a lack of oversight, ineffective law enforcement, and legal uncertainties related to regulations that vary between regions. The research also identifies that UMR violations significantly impact workers' welfare, including difficulties in meeting basic needs and increased stress due to financial uncertainty. To enhance compliance, the study recommends improving oversight and law enforcement, harmonizing UMR standards across regions, and developing an anonymous complaint system for workers. These findings are expected to provide insights for policymakers, company management, and workers to improve the implementation of UMR regulations and enhance workers' welfare in Indonesia.
