Abstract

The emergency department (ED) of a hospital plays a crucial role in managing emergency cases, including initial examination, resuscitation, and stabilization. Timely and precise intervention in the ED is vital, as prompt treatment can reduce mortality by up to 30%. Conversely, delayed response times can lead to permanent disability or death. An emergency is defined as a clinical situation requiring immediate medical action to save lives and prevent disability. In this study, the majority of patients (over 80%) admitted to the ED were victims of traffic accidents, including motorcycle, car, bicycle, and pedestrian incidents, while the remainder involved falls, impacts with objects, and violence-related injuries. This research utilized a total sampling method, where all members of the population were included as samples. The study results indicate that training significantly improves nurse response times in handling traffic accident cases in the ED of Semarang Regency Hospital. Additionally, triage skills have a significant positive impact on nurse response times, as does the work environment. However, the workload was found to have an insignificant positive effect on response times. These findings underscore the importance of training, triage proficiency, and a supportive work environment in enhancing nurse response times in emergency situations, particularly in traffic accident cases. Further research may explore additional factors influencing response times and the potential for improving patient outcomes in emergency settings.

Abstract

In the era of social media like today, one social media that is currently quite popular is Twitter. This study explores the use of the Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) method optimized with the Genetic Algorithm (GA) to detect hate speech in Twitter data in Indonesia. We use TF-IDF and GloVe feature extraction techniques to produce effective word vector representations in natural language processing. This study also introduces feature expansion and similarity corpus construction to improve the performance of the LSTM classification model. Evaluation is carried out through a confusion matrix to measure accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. The results show that the LSTM model with TF-IDF and GloVe feature extraction achieves the best performance with an accuracy of up to 92.91%. We also found that the combination of Unigram + Bigram + Trigram, max feature 10000, and Glove corpus with Top 20 similarity gave optimal results. In addition, parameter optimization using genetic algorithms has been shown to improve accuracy and F1-Score. The resulting LSTM model is able to classify test data with high accuracy, which has the potential to help in the detection and handling of hate speech on social media, as well as improving the model's ability to identify and understand text content in the Indonesian language context.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to reduce parenting stress in parents with children with congenital heart disease (CHD). This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test-post-test control group design. The participants in this study were 30 parents who had children with congenital heart disease, who were randomly divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was given MBCT intervention for 8 sessions, while the control group did not get any intervention. Parenting stress measurements were carried out before and after the intervention using the Parenting Stress Index (PSI). The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant difference in parenting stress scores between the experimental group and the control group after being given MBCT intervention (p<0.05). The experimental group experienced a greater decrease in parenting stress scores compared to the control group. The provision of MBCT intervention is effective in reducing parenting stress in parents who have children with congenital heart disease. The results of this study can be considered in the development of psychological interventions to overcome parenting stress in parents with children with CHD

Abstract

Total hip replacement is one of the most common and effective orthopedic surgical procedures to reduce pain and improve hip function in patients with severe conditions. This procedure has undergone many advances in the past few decades. However, there is debate among surgeons about which surgical approach is the most optimal to apply. This study aims to systematically assess and compare the outcomes of different surgical approaches in total hip replacement (THR) procedures. The method used in this study was a systematic literature review, in which literature was searched through academic databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar using relevant keywords. The collected data were then analyzed through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study show that each surgical method for total hip replacement has different advantages and disadvantages. The choice of surgical approach should be tailored to each patient's specific condition. Based on a review of the available literature, the anterior approach is often considered superior to the other approaches. The advantages include less surgical trauma, better postoperative pain reduction and a faster rehabilitation process. The anterior approach is considered safe, reliable and effective, and results in lower pain levels compared to other methods

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between cholinesterase levels and cognitive status in farmers in Village, Panti District, Jember Regency. High use of pesticides in the agricultural sector can increase the risk of poisoning, which has an impact on health, especially the nervous system and cognitive function. The research method used was observational with a cross-sectional design, involving 30 farmers who used organophosphate and carbamate pesticides. Cognitive status was measured using the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE). The results showed that there was a decrease in cholinesterase levels in some farmers, but the analysis with the Spearman correlation test showed no significant relationship between cholinesterase levels and cognitive status (p > 0.05). This research is expected to provide information about the impact of pesticides and the importance of using personal protective equipment for farmers

Abstract

This study examines the negotiation of identity and female resistance in the short story Mawar di Kanal Macan by Iksaka Banu, focusing on the dual oppression faced by women in colonial and postcolonial contexts. Using a descriptive-analytical method and a postcolonial feminist approach, the research explores how colonial and patriarchal power structures shape women's identities and incite resistance. Drawing on theories of identity, subalternity, and hybridity, the analysis investigates how women in subaltern positions negotiate their identities within dominant power structures. Furthermore, it examines how hybridity and intersectionality create spaces for resistance through both subtle and overt actions. The findings reveal that the main character, Adelheid Ewald, navigates complex identity negotiations due to the intersecting influences of colonial and patriarchal dominance, with resistance manifesting in legal and symbolic forms. These insights contribute to postcolonial feminist discourse in Indonesia, offering a deeper understanding of how women assert their agency despite operating within layered systems of oppression. The study suggests further exploration of other literary works that engage similar themes to expand discussions on identity and resistance in postcolonial societies.

Abstract

Academics have concluded that work meaningfulness is the basic need of employees that should be pursued. However, challenges arise in creating a perception of work meaningfulness caused by various factors in the workplace. Workplace ostracism is a potential factor that can affect the perception of work meaningfulness, this is because the condition of being isolated or ostracized is often categorized as an interaction that causes pain and harm to the victim. Individual differences, especially trait mindfulness, are thought to have a strong role in the relationship between the two. Researchers gathered 305 employees from various industries to give statements to the survey given online. The results of data analysis using Moderation Analysis model 1 in PROCESS macro show that workplace ostracism is negatively correlated with work meaningfulness (b = -0.5164). The results also showed that trait mindfulness can play a role as a buffer against the negative relationship between workplace ostracism and work meaningfulness (b = 0.1146). In addition, researchers have also found that the trait mindfulness was also able to predict the employees' work meaningfulness (b = -0.2786).

Abstract

Leea indica (Burm.f.) Merr, commonly known as Memaye, is a shrub utilized by the Besemah tribe in Lahat Regency, South Sumatra, for treating infectious diseases such as hepatitis and warts, as well as degenerative diseases like liver disorders. This plant's medicinal properties are primarily derived from its roots and fruits, which contain secondary metabolites like alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids. Anatomical studies are crucial to identify specific structures within the plant that may store these metabolite compounds. This research aims to analyze the anatomical structure and distribution of secretory structures in the vegetative organs (leaves, stems, and roots) of Leea indica. Using a descriptive method, the study employed Paraffin and Whole mount techniques to prepare samples for microscopic observation. Results revealed the presence of epidermal tissue, basic tissue, and vascular tissue. Additionally, internal secretory structures, including cavities and two types of idioblast cells, were found to function as storage sites for secondary metabolites. These secretory structures were distributed throughout the leaves, stems, and roots of the plant.

Abstract

The prolonged conflict between Hamas and Israel has significant impacts on the social and political dynamics in various countries, including Indonesia. This study aims to analyze how this conflict affects radicalization and the development of terrorism ideology in Indonesia. The methodology employed is a qualitative approach based on narrative analysis through document studies and secondary data. This research applies the Relative Deprivation Theory to explain the dissatisfaction felt by Indonesian Muslims regarding the conditions in Palestine, and the Framing Theory to understand how the conflict narrative is framed by radical groups. The findings indicate that the narrative of Palestinian suffering and the legitimacy of jihad are used by extremist groups to recruit new members and garner support. Additionally, this phenomenon contributes to an increase in anti-Israel sentiment among Indonesian society. The findings reveal the complex relationship between international conflicts and local radicalization, which calls for more serious attention from the government in addressing potential terrorism threats arising from these sentiments.
