Abstract

In this research, we aims to examine how gender disparities among corporate leaders (executives) and their level of risk aversion can impact the organization's strategic risk-taking. A questionnaire survey method was employed to collect data from executives in Indonesia holding minimum positions of senior manager (BOD-1), director or commissioner (C-Level). Standard behavioral economics expected utility approach is employed to quantify the degree of risk aversion, while respondents will also make investment choices to assess their inclination towards strategic risk-taking. The research employed the t-test and linear logistic regression analysis to examine the hypothesis. The research findings indicate that female executives exhibit a higher degree of risk aversion compared to their male counterparts. In line with most st udies, risk averse executives prefer to engage in more cautious strategic risk-taking. Nevertheless, there are no discernible disparities between female executives and male execautives when it comes to engaging in strategic risk-taking.

Abstract

Performance appraisal is an important instrument in measuring the contribution of individuals and teams in achieving organizational goals. Digital transformation, including the implementation of e-performance, is an important strategy to optimize employee performance and improve organizational efficiency, especially in the context of local government. This research analyzes the implementation of e-performance at the Trade and Industry Office of Gowa Regency, as well as the factors that influence its success. Qualitative methods were used by taking samples of employees and leaders who mastered the e-performance system. The results show that the implementation of e-performance has improved compliance, smooth routines, and the expected impact in managing employee performance. Supporting factors include leadership awareness and commitment, adequate information technology infrastructure, and employee training. However, there is a lack of acceptance of the need for innovation as an inhibiting factor. Positive employee disposition towards change and management support in providing the necessary resources and guidance are key to successful implementation of e-performance.

Abstract

Indonesia’s involvement in peacekeeping missions has long been a key part of its foreign policy, contributing to world peace as outlined in Republic of Indonesia Law Number 37 of 1999 concerning Foreign Relations. This study aims to analyze the government's policy implementation regarding troop preparation for world peace missions, particularly in relation to Indonesia's role as a Troops Contributing Country (TCC) to the United Nations (UN). The research utilizes a qualitative descriptive approach to understand the intricacies of the troop preparation process through George Edward III's policy implementation model, which emphasizes the importance of disposition, communication, resources, and bureaucracy. Data were collected through document analysis, interviews, and observation of relevant practices in Indonesian military operations. The findings highlight that the personnel selection process for peacekeeping missions is highly structured, requiring compliance with rigorous standards set by both the Indonesian government and the UN. The pre-deployment training, supervised by the TNI (Indonesian National Army) Headquarters, ensures that selected personnel are adequately prepared for their assignments. This comprehensive preparation includes mental and physical readiness, as well as the necessary technical and language skills. The results also emphasize the importance of strong inter-agency coordination, particularly between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to ensure the success of these missions. Furthermore, the study reveals that budgetary and resource constraints remain significant challenges in sustaining peacekeeping operations. In conclusion, Indonesia's contribution to global peacekeeping missions underscores the nation's commitment

Abstract

Dental caries is still a major problem in dentistry and is the most common infectious disease in children. Caries is a microbiological infectious disease that can damage the hard tissue of the teeth. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of butterfly pea flower extract ( Clitoria ternatea ) on the growth of Streptococcus mutans in vitro. This type of research is laboratory experimental research using a post test only control group design approach The samples used were butterfly pea flower extract ( Clitoria ternatea ) diluted with DMSO to a concentration of 100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 3.125%, 6.125% and Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175. This research was conducted using the MIC test dilution method and KBM to see the effectiveness of the antibacterial extract against the test bacteria. Analysis of research data using the one way ANOVA test (p <0.05) to see significant differences between study groups with the number of test bacteria, followed by a double comparison test with the Post Hoc Least Significance Different (LSD) method to determine the average difference between treatment groups. Antibacterial effectiveness test results showed that butterfly pea flower extract ( Clitoria ternatea ) was effective in inhibiting Streptococcus mutans bacteria (p<0.05), at a concentration of 25% was the minimum inhibitory level (MIC) and 50% concentration was the minimum killing rate (MBC). ). The conclusion of this study is that the extract of butterfly pea flower ( Clitoria ternatea ) is effective in inhibiting and killing Streptococcus mutans bacteria.

Abstract

Based on KPU Regulation Number 1 of 2020 which regulates the nomination of regional heads and deputy regional heads in the 2020 simultaneous regional elections, there are changes to the nomination requirements from the individual path. Data on the results of the 2020 regional elections show that there were six individual candidate pairs who won the elections, one of which was in Metro City, Lampung province. The victory of individual candidate pairs in the Metro City regional elections can be said to break the dominance of candidate pairs from political parties who always win elections. This research examines the victory of candidate pairs Wahdi and Qomaru from the perspective of political, economic and social capital. The theory of capital refers to Pierre Bourdieu (1992), and is supported by the theory of political capital from John A. Booth and Patricia Bayer Richard (1998). The research method is qualitative with primary data collection through in-depth interviews. The research findings show that social capital (grassroots network), and economic capital (capital control) became the main factors of Wahdi and Qomaru's victory, which succeeded in defeating a pair of candidates from political parties, making it the first time Metro City was led by a mayor and deputy mayor not from a political party.
