Abstract

This research explores the application of a customer-centric approach in new product development to meet the needs of a dynamic market. Using qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and analysis of company documentation, this study identifies the best strategies, challenges, and impacts of implementing this approach on product success. The results show that the integration of customer feedback and the effective use of analytical data can improve customer satisfaction and product sales performance. However, companies face challenges in terms of resource constraints, internal resistance, and consumer data collection. The study recommends companies to allocate adequate resources, involve teams in decision-making, and use advanced technology for data optimization. For further research, it is recommended that the focus be on applying a customer-centric approach across various industries and company scales, as well as solutions to overcome specific obstacles faced.

Abstract

Cost is one of the important parameters of the success of a construction project. Rising costs are the biggest challenge faced by the construction industry around the world. There are six groups that cause the increase in construction, namely, Technical, Financial, Management, Political, Resources, and Environment. The research aims to identify the factors that cause the increase in costs and how these factors affect the increase in costs. The research was conducted on one leading construction company, where 5 infrastructure projects were selected as the object of the research. The research is a qualitative research that uses two types of data, secondary data from documentation studies and primary data from questionnaires. Secondary data was obtained from the study in the document and poured into  a fishbone diagram. The results of the initial identification were then outlined in a questionnaire to measure the Relative Importance Indices (RII). RII is a method to determine the relative importance of various factors causing cost increases. From the results of data analysis, 10 main factors were obtained which were grouped into 3 groups; Very Important, Important and Quite Important. In addition, an additional analysis was carried out by measuring RII based on 4 types of projects, namely road construction, water buildings, pipeline installations, and runways. The land acquisition factor is a very important factor in 2 types of projects, namely roads and water buildings. This is because both types of projects involve a long or large implementation area.

Abstract

The research reveals that power turbulence in Southeast Asia is caused by the involvement of major states in the region. Such involvement has implications for two levels of analysis, where there is a balance of power of intrusive states and a balance of power of regional states. The anomaly is that regional security is created with a high tendency for conflict and politics. The effort to deconstruct this anomaly uses the governmentality power approach and the genealogy method initiated by Michel Foucault. Philosophical debates arise when disciplining and normalizing the history of power and knowledge of intrusive systems. He confirmed that regional order is related to global power. In this regard, this research is limited to revealing the involvement of countries outside the Southeast Asian region carried out since the pre-colonial era by India and China. There is disciplining and normalizing through the censorship of panopticon governmentality and genealogy of power so that the relations of power and knowledge of intrusive systems carried out by countries outside the region gain population approval as contemporary patterns of power produced throughout history and have implications for power.

Abstract

Infrastructure development is crucial for economic progress, and Indonesia has witnessed significant advancements in this sector, especially in toll road projects over the past decade. The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), is dedicated to infrastructure development to achieve the "Golden Indonesia" 2045 vision. Despite this commitment, many projects face delays, adversely affecting costs, quality, and timelines. This study investigates the causes of delays in toll road projects with case studies on two projects in Sumatra, one in Java, and one in Kalimantan. The research methods include literature review, data collection, and surveys distributed to project owners, supervision consultants, and contractors, followed by analysis of the survey results. Among 24 respondents, the predominant delay factors identified are unresolved land issues, improper scheduling, resource shortages, and unforeseen circumstances. Further analysis revealed that among the 16 delay causes related to land, five stem from non-technical aspects and 13 from technical aspects, with overlapping causes such as incomplete contract work types and unforeseen situations. The average risk value indicates that land-related delay factors have a higher impact compared to others. Specifically, the technical aspect risk value is 10.75, and the non-technical aspect is 12.33 on a maximum risk value scale of 25. These results highlight the critical need for effective land risk management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in toll road project execution. This research aims to assist future project management, enrich civil engineering knowledge, and support the continuous growth of infrastructure development in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a developing archipelagic country, emphasizes infrastructure development to boost the economy and enhance inter-island connectivity. Significant state budget allocations for construction annually underscore the sector's importance. However, in X Regency, many construction tenders have failed, leading to unabsorbed budgets and wasted resources. This study aims to identify factors causing tender failures and develop strategies to minimize them. Utilizing quantitative methods, the research includes questionnaire surveys and secondary data analysis from literature studies. The Relative Importance Index (RII) is employed to identify tender failure factors, and Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) is used to develop strategy implementations. The findings reveal ten critical factors contributing to tender failures: insufficient time for bidding document preparation, incomplete documents, failure to upload documents, unawareness of schedules, bidders' technical specifications not meeting requirements, Service User setting HPS too low, personnel qualifications not matching selection criteria, non-compliance with legal requirements, insufficient information causing multiple interpretations, and delayed learning of bid announcements.  Consequently, 46 strategic implementations are recommended. The top five strategies include: optimizing personnel rotation with appropriate qualifications for different projects, adding an article in the Regent Regulation regarding an Electronic Procurement Service hotline for system errors, recommending Service Providers re-examine auction activity requirements before registering, including an article in the Regent Regulation for evaluating tender processes to identify and address participant constraints,  and advising Service Users to conduct thorough market price surveys. These strategies aim to enhance tender processes, ensuring better absorption of allocated budgets and effective project execution.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the GO-Expert application on student satisfaction at Ganesha Operation using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) approach. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a survey design and linear regression analysis. Data were collected through a closed questionnaire filled out by students using the e-learning system. The results indicate that the ease of use of the GO-Expert application positively influences perceived usefulness and attitudes toward its use. Although students recognize the benefits of the application, mandatory usage diminishes their interest in continuing to use the system. Overall, the findings suggest that behavioral attitudes positively affect behavioral intentions, which in turn influence the actual use of the GO-Expert application.

Abstract

Economic success is often measured by material possessions, but obtaining these materials can sometimes harm others and neglect their needs. This was seen in the 2008 milk factory incident in China and the manipulation of TPS financial reports in Indonesia in 2019. Buddhism offers an alternative approach that emphasizes ethical and spiritual values in all aspects of life, including business. Using a phenomenological approach, this study explores how Buddhist entrepreneurs in Indonesia apply Buddhist ethics and economics in their business practices. Two themes emerged from the research: business ethics and Buddhist economic interpretation. These two themes can be elaborate into 6 (six) subthemes. While similarities can be found between Buddhist and modern economic theories, Buddhist entrepreneurs still face challenges in implementing their values in practice. Apart following the regulations, traditions and  business influences along with social interaction that apply within the society of a region country. The research is not to prove whose implementation is most correct.

Abstract

The study examines toxic communication in Mobile Legends Bang Bang among female players using Mark Obe's co-cultural communication theory. Employing a qualitative approach using constructivis paradigm, including interviews with eight female players, the research identifies how these players encounter and address toxic behavior. The findings reveal that most participants use an assertive accommodation approach. They actively challenge and attempt to change the prevailing norms in the game by reprimanding and educating those who engage in toxic behavior. They also utilize reporting and blocking features to manage these interactions, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to fostering a fairer gaming environment. Other participants adopt a non-assertive separation strategy. They avoid or isolate themselves from toxic situations, preferring non-confrontational methods to minimize interaction with those displaying toxic behavior. A smaller group uses an aggressive assimilation approach. These players conceal their virtual identities to blend in with the dominant group, adapting to the toxic norms rather than challenging them. The study highlights the various strategies female players use to cope with issues like sexual harassment, racism, insults, and trolling. This behavior includes trashing such as sexual harassment, racism, insults, intimidation, gender discrimination, and trolling (contextually inappropriate threats). Insults like n**b, janc*k, bngs*t, and cewek gbl*k are examples of toxic communication in online games. It underscores their awareness of the causes of toxic behavior, such as poor gameplay or social media influence, and their diverse methods of responding, from active confrontation to avoidance and adaptation.
