Abstract

Financial technology (fintech) has experienced rapid growth in recent years, with mobile banking being one of the main services widely adopted by Indonesians. One of the innovative strategies used in mobile banking applications is gamification, which is the application of game elements to increase user engagement and encourage positive financial behavior. This study aims to analyze how gamification elements, such as reward, competition, immersion, enjoyment, and sense of presence, influence the purchase intention of mobile banking app users in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative method with a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach to test the relationship between variables. Data was collected through a survey of mobile banking application users who have used gamification features in their financial transactions. The sample of this study amounted to 284 respondents with some specific criteria. The questionnaire was measured with a 7-point Likert scale. The findings provide implications for the fintech industry, particularly in developing effective gamification-based marketing strategies to increase user adoption and retention. The study also provides insights for app developers in designing interactive features that can strengthen user experience and encourage more active transaction behavior.

Abstract

The pharmaceutical industry faces growing regulatory challenges and financial constraints when expanding into new markets. This study evaluates the financial feasibility of the Garuda Project, a strategic initiative by PT Asgardian Muda to build a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility meeting European Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards. The aim is to determine the most suitable funding structure to ensure financial sustainability and regulatory compliance. The research uses both qualitative and quantitative methods, including financial performance analysis, stakeholder evaluation, and investment feasibility assessment. Key financial metrics, such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC), are applied to compare different funding options: internal financing, debt-based funding, and hybrid models. Sensitivity analysis also examines the impact of factors like interest rates, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), demand fluctuations, and delayed regulatory approval on financial viability. Findings indicate that all scenarios are financially feasible, with IRRs surpassing the WACC. The 50% equity and 50% debt hybrid model performs best, offering the highest NPV (up to IDR 226 billion), a lower WACC (8.74%), and the shortest payback period (2044). Sensitivity analysis shows the project is most sensitive to regulatory approval delays and market demand fluctuations. The Garuda Project is both economically and strategically viable, with the hybrid funding model providing an optimal balance between profitability and risk. If the company adheres to its zero-debt policy, the project remains feasible under a 100% equity structure, although with reduced financial efficiency.

Abstract

This study aims to develop strategic scenarios through in-depth interviews using thematic analysis as the foundation for formulating rescue measures for a company experiencing financial distress, specifically the integration of PT B (Persero) Tbk into PT A (Persero). The analysis produced 11 combined scenarios, categorized into three outlooks—pessimistic, moderate, and optimistic—each forming the basis for financial and key ratio projections. These projections are subsequently used to conduct a company valuation employing the Scenario Discounted Cash Flow (SDCF) approach, encompassing both levered and unlevered methods through Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and constant growth valuation models. The primary differences among the scenarios are reflected in fundamental factors such as integration continuity, market optimism, cost efficiency, and restructuring success. These factors directly impact the company’s profitability, solvency, and liquidity. The findings reveal that the optimistic scenario indicates a successful integration and comprehensive financial recovery; the moderate scenario shows limited improvement with ongoing risks; and the pessimistic scenario underscores a standalone operation of PT A. Practically, the study offers strategic insights for policymakers in designing restructuring policies, risk mitigation plans, and business continuity strategies. In terms of originality, this research makes a significant contribution by integrating scenario planning, financial ratio analysis, and SDCF-based valuation to assess distressed company valuation, an approach rarely applied in academic studies related to Indonesia’s construction sector.

Abstract

This study examines the dissemination of policy information through QR Code Do's and Don'ts to foreign tourists in Badung Regency, Bali. The main issue is the high rate of rule violations by foreign tourists despite the policy’s implementation to control behavior during visits. The study aims to analyze the effectiveness of QR Codes as a public communication medium for conveying rules and to evaluate tourists’ responses to this information. Using a qualitative case study approach, primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with immigration officials, tourism agencies, public communication experts, and foreign tourists. Analysis was guided by Harold Lasswell’s Public Communication Strategy theory to understand the communication dynamics between the government as sender and tourists as recipients. Findings indicate that although the QR Code policy is implemented in multiple languages and supported by digital flyers and social media, the information delivery is ineffective in reaching all target audiences. Many tourists are either unaware of or do not scan the QR Codes due to unclear directions and inconsistent communication strategies. The study concludes that a re-evaluation is necessary, involving various stakeholders and combining conventional and digital media. This integrated approach can ensure the message is delivered comprehensively, improving tourists’ awareness and compliance with Bali’s rules.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of membership loyalty programs in increasing customer retention using Net Promoter Score (NPS) with the support of information systems. Loyalty programs are one of the effective strategies in maintaining long-term relationships with customers. However, its success relies heavily on the right measurement of customer satisfaction, one of which is through NPS. NPS provides clear insights into customer loyalty levels by distinguishing between "promoters" and "detractors". Information systems play an important role in supporting the collection and analysis of customer data in real-time, enabling companies to create more personalized and relevant offers. Through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this study reviewed various literature related to the implementation of loyalty programs, NPS measurement, and the role of information systems in improving customer retention. The results show that a combination of relevant loyalty programs, effective NPS measurement, and supportive information systems can create a better customer experience, increase satisfaction, and strengthen customer loyalty. This research also provides recommendations for companies in optimizing the use of information technology and periodic evaluation of loyalty programs to achieve maximum results in customer retention.

Abstract

Increasing regional competitiveness is a crucial factor in supporting sustainable economic development. One key strategy for enhancing competitiveness is through regional innovation. This study aims to analyze strategies that can be implemented to improve the regional competitiveness index through innovation based on local potential. The approach used in this study is qualitative, with case study analysis of several regions that have successfully implemented regional innovation to enhance their competitiveness. The results show that the implementation of regional innovation, such as the development of superior local products, the use of digital technology, and improving the quality of human resources, can significantly increase regional competitiveness. Furthermore, collaboration between the government, the private sector, and the community also plays a crucial role in creating an innovation ecosystem that supports increased competitiveness. This study suggests the need for policies that support the development of regional innovation through the provision of adequate infrastructure, increased access to technology, and training for local human resources. Thus, regional innovation can be a key driver in increasing regional competitiveness and encouraging inclusive economic growth.

Abstract

Metformin is a first-line therapy for type 2 diabetes mellitus (Type 2 DM), but its primary excretion through the kidneys raises concerns about the risk of nephrotoxicity, particularly in geriatric patients. This study aims to assess the relationship between metformin use and renal function in geriatric patients with Type 2 DM at Prof. Dr. J. A. Latumeten Ambon Level II Hospital. This study used a retrospective and prospective observational design of 150 geriatric patients receiving metformin. Data were collected through medical records and questionnaires. Kidney function parameters are assessed through GFR values and creatinine levels. The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents were aged 66–74 years (88.7%), with a prevalence of metformin use of 100%. No significant association was found between the duration of metformin use and a drastic decline in kidney function (the average creatinine value remained < 1.3 mg/dL). However, comorbidities and age were found to be factors that affect kidney function more significantly. Metformin is relatively safe to use in geriatric patients with close monitoring of renal function. The decline in kidney function is more influenced by age factors and comorbidities than by the use of metformin itself.

Abstract

Indonesia is facing increasing water demand due to rapid urbanization, industrialization, and population growth. To address this challenge, the government is prioritizing the development of Sistem Penyediaan Air Minum (SPAM) as part of its Vision Indonesia 2045*, aiming to ensure universal access to clean water while reducing groundwater dependency and environmental degradation. This study evaluates the feasibility of SPAM investment by* Perum Jasa Tirta II (PJT II), a state-owned enterprise tasked with water resource management. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study combines qualitative PESTLE analysis with quantitative financial assessments, including NPV, IRR, PBP, and PI, supported by sensitivity testing. The financial analysis reveals a positive NPV of IDR 58.3 billion, an IRR of 16.8% (exceeding the 12% WACC), a payback period of 6.2 years, and a profitability index of 1.42, confirming strong financial viability. The findings reveal that strong political backing, economic recovery, rising public health awareness, and PJT II's operational mandate support the strategic relevance of SPAM. Despite challenges such as aging infrastructure, the investment is found to be both financially and strategically viable. This study offers practical insights for aligning public infrastructure investment with national development goals and sustainable resource management.

Abstract

This study aims to design and implement a Kubernetes Risk Management Framework (Kube-RMF) tailored to Bank XYZ’s digital banking environment in compliance with Indonesian financial regulations. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the research integrates industry best practices such as CIS Kubernetes Benchmarks, OWASP Kubernetes Top 10, and NIST SP 800-190 with the requirements of POJK 11/POJK.03/2022. Data collection was conducted through document analysis, in-depth interviews with IT security, DevOps, and compliance teams, and technical vulnerability scanning using tools like Trivy and kube-bench. Risks were identified and assessed by mapping threats and vulnerabilities to Kubernetes assets, defining Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and applying scenario analysis based on ISACA’s Risk IT Framework. A gap analysis compared current practices to the designed Kube-RMF, followed by a pilot implementation on AWS EKS to evaluate effectiveness. Results show that misconfigurations are the most prevalent security risk, followed by exposed APIs, insufficient access control, and unscanned container images with critical vulnerabilities. Implementation of Kube-RMF reduced high-risk vulnerabilities, improved compliance readiness, and shortened detection time from weeks to hours. Embedding security into CI/CD pipelines also enhanced collaboration across teams without slowing development cycles. Despite challenges such as change resistance, skill gaps, and limited monitoring resources, Kube-RMF effectively bridges regulatory compliance and operational needs, strengthening resilience against evolving cloud-based cyber threats.

Abstract

This study explores the practice of religious moderation within the framework of interreligious social interaction in Rejoagung Village, Jember, East Java, a community distinguished by its unique demographic composition of a Christian majority and a Muslim minority. Employing a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design, the research identifies forms of social engagement that embody the principles of religious moderation. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, field observations, and participatory documentation, and analyzed using Talcott Parsons’ structural functionalism framework with a particular emphasis on the AGIL scheme (Adaptation, Goal Attainment, Integration, and Latency). The findings reveal that religious moderation in Rejoagung is rooted not merely in formal tolerance but in deeply internalized shared values embedded within the village’s social fabric. This harmony is maintained through cross-group adaptation, sustained collaborative activities, and the leadership of influential local figures who reinforce social cohesion. The study offers a context-specific contribution to the discourse on religious moderation by illustrating how the synergy between cultural norms, religious ethics, and local institutional practices can serve as a sustainable foundation for peaceful coexistence in a diverse society.
