Abstract

The implementation of an effective quality management system is essential in improving the quality of education in high school. This study aims to illustrate the implementation of the Total Quality Management (TQM) model in supporting the work quality culture at SMAN 1 Kelumpang Utara. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. In-depth interviews, participant observations, and documentation were carried out on the principal, 15 teachers, 3 staff, 1 head of sub-division, and 15 students. The data was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman Models, which include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The findings show that TQM has been implemented at SMAN 1 Kelumpang Utara with an emphasis on creating consistency of goals, improving the quality of graduates and services, improving the quality and productivity of school stakeholders, leadership in education, eliminating fear and obstacles to success, creating a culture of quality, process improvement, helping students succeed, commitment, and responsibility. However, there are still obstacles in the total involvement of all school members and continuous improvement. A TQM implementation model is necessary to support a quality work culture that involves staff engagement, leadership, partnerships, reward systems, and organizational quality. These components must be based on a system of values, norms, and culture formulated in a vision, mission, and goals that are understood by all members of the organization.

Abstract

Technological developments in the health sector, especially in surgery, have encouraged hospitals to adopt robotic-based operating systems. The use of robotic surgery provides clinical benefits such as increased precision, 3D visualization, and faster patient recovery. However, the adoption of this technology requires the support of significantly different operating room infrastructure compared to conventional operating rooms. This study aims to conduct a systematic review of the literature that compares the specifications of robotic and non-robotic operating room construction, focusing on design aspects, mechanical-electrical systems, and construction costs. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on the PRISMA protocol, with data sources from Scopus, ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases. A total of 25 scientific articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study showed that robotic operating rooms require a larger area (≥60 m²), Laminar Air Flow (LAF) ventilation systems, additional radiation protection, as well as more complex electrical systems such as HMI and UPS. In addition, the cost of building a robotic operating room is reportedly much higher compared to a non-robotic room. The study also identifies the limitations of the literature in Indonesia that discusses the technical planning of robotic operating rooms, thus providing opportunities for further research in the field of health facility design. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for hospitals, construction planners, and policymakers in developing advanced technology-based operating room infrastructure.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology in healthcare has fostered the emergence of telemedicine powered by artificial intelligence (AI), particularly within medical practice. In Indonesia, however, this rapid development has not been matched by clear legal safeguards for either patients or medical professionals. The central issues concern the extent of patient protection and the allocation of liability when errors occur in AI-assisted telemedicine services. This study employs a normative juridical approach, supported by statutory analysis, conceptual inquiry, and comparative legal study. The findings reveal that Indonesia’s health regulations remain general in nature and do not specifically define liability boundaries in AI-based medical practice. The absence of a lex specialis and ambiguity regarding legal subjects create potential injustice. This article recommends establishing regulations grounded in precautionary principles, incorporating algorithmic safety, independent audits, and a shared liability framework among physicians, platform providers, and developers to ensure accountability and patient protection in digital healthcare.

Abstract

Tourism managers and the government are constantly striving to monitor and encourage every tourism activity to adhere to reasonable limits and principles of sustainable tourism. On the other hand, the pandemic has reshaped people's travel preferences, particularly due to numerous digital changes and a wider choice of attractions and activities that are no longer concentrated in cities. People are increasingly venturing out of their homes in safer and more comfortable ways, often choosing natural outdoor spaces as their destinations. This research aims to explore tourist experiences within the context of the sustainable glamping experiencescape, using Bobocabin West Java as the case study. The analysis focuses on natural, functional, social, sensory, and cultural dimensions. The research employed a literature review and in-depth interviews with 10 visitors categorized as solo travelers, family travelers, and group travelers. Data were analyzed using an open coding approach to identify relevant thematic patterns. Findings reveal that natural landscapes serve as the main attraction, distinguishing glamping from conventional accommodations, complemented by modular facilities and smart technologies that enhance comfort. Social aspects, such as friendly service and safety assurance, alongside the inclusion of local SMEs and cultural representation, enriched visitor experiences. Nonetheless, limitations remain in communicating sustainability agendas, accessibility, and the availability of communal spaces. These results underscore the importance of managing glamping through comprehensive sustainability principles to deliver economic, social, and environmental benefits while enhancing tourism competitiveness.

Abstract

The aging process in the elderly affects not only physical capabilities but also cognitive function. Cognitive impairment in older adults is thought to be associated with physical activity and neurotrophic factors, particularly the serum level of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF). Majejaitan—a traditional form of activity involving fine motor coordination and repetitive hand movements—is hypothesized to exert a protective effect against cognitive impairment by increasing serum BDNF levels. This study aimed to examine the role of Majejaitan activity and elevated serum BDNF levels as potential protective factors against cognitive impairment in elderly individuals. An observational case-control study was conducted from November 2024 to January 2025 at the East Denpasar 1 Primary Health Care Center. The participants were women aged 50–60 years, divided equally into two groups: a case group (with cognitive impairment) and a control group (without cognitive impairment), each consisting of 19 participants. Cognitive impairment was assessed using the Indonesian version of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA-Ina), with scores below 26 indicating impairment. Majejaitan activity was defined as performing the activity at least three times per week for 30–60 minutes, and participants were classified as either active or inactive. Serum BDNF levels were measured using a sandwich-type ELISA with the Human BDNF ELISA Kit (BT LAB) and were categorized as high or not high based on receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis.

Abstract

Infrastructure project investments tend to face challenges related to risk, schedule delays, and cost efficiency, which can affect the project's financial feasibility. This issue is crucial because appropriate investment decisions are crucial to project success and returns for stakeholders. This study aims to analyze the influence of risk management, schedule performance, and cost efficiency on the investment feasibility of infrastructure projects. The research method used is quantitative, with a population of individuals with direct experience in infrastructure project management. The sample was selected using purposive sampling with the criteria of a minimum of one to three years of experience on related projects. Data were collected through questionnaires, tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using multiple regression and the R² value to measure the contribution of independent variables to investment feasibility. The results show that risk management, schedule performance, and cost efficiency simultaneously have a significant effect on the investment feasibility of infrastructure projects. The R² value indicates that the independent variables together are able to explain most of the variation in investment feasibility. These findings emphasize the importance of good risk management, proper schedule monitoring, and cost efficiency to improve investment feasibility. The implications of this study can be used as a reference for project management and stakeholders in making more effective infrastructure investment decisions and reducing the risk of financial loss.

Abstract

Global public administration is currently gripped by a techno-solutionism narrative, in which digitalization is seen as a panacea for bureaucratic inefficiency. This article presents a critical analysis of one of the most ambitious manifestations of this narrative in a developing country: Indonesia's Core Tax Administration System (PSIAP). Through the lens of critical legal theory and procedural justice, we centrally argue that the top-down, technology-driven implementation of PSIAP creates a juridical dissonance—a fundamental friction between the deterministic logic of algorithmic efficiency and the dialogic, certainty-based principles of business law. Using a juridical-empirical approach, this research unpacks how this dissonance manifests in three critical arenas: (1) the diffusion of accountability within an integrated data ecosystem that obscures legal accountability; (2) the erosion of due process through automated, "black-box" audits; and (3) the contestation between corporate data privacy regimes and increasingly expansive state fiscal prerogatives. Rather than simply identifying risks, this article examines the root causes and proposes a normative model for equitable digital tax governance. Its primary contribution is a critical deconstruction of claims of technological neutrality in tax reform and a reformulation of the discourse from technocratic efficiency to procedural justice in the digital age.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of oral administration of purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) extract on serum and tissue TNF-α levels in the gaster and duodenum, as well as on gastrointestinal damage in Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) with major burns. This experimental research used a Randomized Post-Test Only Control Group Design with Wistar rats as subjects, divided into a control group (P0) and a treatment group (P1). The results showed that serum TNF-α levels were significantly lower in the treatment group compared to the control group (p = 0.002). Tissue TNF-α levels also decreased significantly (p = 0.049), suggesting a local anti-inflammatory effect on the intestinal mucosa. Statistical analysis demonstrated that mucosal thickness was higher in the treatment group, with a mean difference of 270.32 µm (p < 0.001). However, there was no significant difference in villi width between groups (p = 0.129). Significant differences were observed in mucosal necrosis lesions (p < 0.001), hemorrhage lesions (p < 0.001), and inflammation lesions (p = 0.001) between the treatment and control groups. In conclusion, oral administration of purple sweet potato extract effectively reduced serum and tissue TNF-α levels, increased intestinal mucosal thickness, and protected against mucosal damage in rats with major burns. These findings indicate the potential of purple sweet potato extract as an adjuvant therapy to reduce systemic inflammation and improve intestinal mucosal integrity in burn conditions.
