Abstract

One of the main challenges in mining activities is environmental issues, especially the risk of damage to natural resources. In general, mining activities aim to maximize the utilization of mining resources that exist on the earth. PT Bumi Suksesindo (PT BSI), as the first national private company in Java Island engaged in high sulfidation epithermal gold mining, strives to implement good environmental management and monitoring practices in every stage of its mining activities, from exploration to production, by applicable regulations. This study aims to review the water quality at PT Bumi Suksesindo, Banyuwangi, East Java. It is found that PT Bumi Suksesindo carries out water quality monitoring consistently and refers to the regulation, namely the Regional Regulation of East Java Province Number 2 of 2008 concerning Water Quality Management and Water Pollution Control in East Java Province.

Abstract

Langam Village in Sumbawa Regency has been designated as a pilot project for community-based waste management to address the challenges of ineffective waste management practices. This study aims to analyze the generation, composition, and current waste management practices in the village. A survey approach and quantitative analysis were employed to estimate the average daily waste generation, amounting to 2 tons per day. Organic waste dominated the composition, with food waste accounting for 33% and garden waste for 31%. Most households (76%) disposed of waste improperly due to limited facilities and a lack of awareness regarding environmentally friendly waste treatment. Further analysis highlights the urgent need for more efficient waste management through the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) approach. Establishing 3R-based Waste Management Facilities (3R WMF) in each hamlet is recommended as a sustainable solution tailored to the geographic and social characteristics of Langam Village. The implementation of community-based waste management will not only reduce waste destined for the landfill but also raise public awareness and contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly sustainable cities and communities

Abstract

flexible pavement is a type of pavement that uses asphalt as a binder between the aggregates and has a good level of roughness so that it can be used for high vehicle speeds and has traffic that is not too dense so that it can reduce the maintenance process. One type of mixture in flexible pavement is AC-WC. This research was carried out to determine the effect of adding rattan ash to the AC-WC asphalt mixture by making normal samples and using rattan ash additives with variations of 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8%. Next, marshall testing and analysis is carried out which includes cavity values, stability, flow and marshall quontient. The results of this analysis were then compared with the AC-WC asphalt mixture reference standard in the 2018 revision 2 specifications. From the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the results of using variations of rattan ash will influence the void values ??in the asphalt mixture. From the use of rattan ash variations of 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6% and 0.8% according to specifications. Of the 4 variations of rattan ash, the variation that got the optimum value was a variation of 0.8%, producing a void value of 4.58%, a void value in the aggregate was 18.35%, a cavity value filled with asphalt was 75.03%, a flow value was 3.60 mm, a marshall stability value of 991 kg, and residual marshall stability was 96.86%.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to create a descriptive model of environment-based reclamation recommendations for ex-mining land in the Sumbawa region that is easy to understand and consider. This research consisted of three stages: literature studies from previous researchers were used as a basic reference to strengthen the background and discussion in the research, especially with regard to environment-based reclamation engineering, mapping of open hole points from former community mining, and environment-based reclamation recommendation models. well and precisely in the corn plantation while still considering the initial shape of the topography. Effective reclamation to restore agricultural land damaged and with holes caused by mining without permits by providing recommendations in the form of a descriptive model includes backfilling of openings, planting trees, or revegetation, considering it for agrotourism, and economical fish-farming ponds.

Abstract

The leaching of gold from amalgamated tailings using the wet chlorination method has been successfully carried out. In this study, the gold leaching process was undertaken with percent solids varying at 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% by using 30% H2O2 as an oxidizer. Subsequent leaching with 25% of solids without using 30% H2O2 oxidizer. For other operating conditions, it was kept constant with an operating temperature of 60°C, sample weight of 100 grams, and particle size of 200 mesh. The results showed that the highest gold recovery was 58.68% at 25% of solid. Meanwhile, the lowest gold recovery was 10.94% at 10% of solid. The use of H2O2 has a significant effect on the value of gold recovery, i.e using H2O2 the gold recovery is 58.68% compared to without using H2O2 of 1.15%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to analyze the control of raw cowhide inventory carried out by the home industry "Kerupuk Mikong Khas Sumbawa," to analyze the control of raw cowhide inventory in the home industry "Kerupuk Mikong Khas Sumbawa" using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method, to compare the total inventory cost using the EOQ method with the total inventory cost calculated conventionally in the home industry "Kerupuk Mikong Khas Sumbawa," and to propose improvements to the total inventory cost incurred by the home industry "Kerupuk Mikong Khas Sumbawa.". The method used in this study is the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method. The results of this research show that the control of raw cowhide inventory using the EOQ method yields an optimal order quantity of 6,544 kilograms, with an ordering frequency of 19 times per year. The ordering cost is IDR 94,850 per year, the holding cost is IDR 94,888 per year, the safety stock is 288 kilograms per year, and the reorder point (ROP) is 688 kilograms. The comparison of total inventory costs using the EOQ method and conventional inventory cost calculation reveals a reduction in inventory costs when using the EOQ method. This is due to a decrease in the ordering frequency from 48 times to 19 times, reducing the ordering cost from IDR 240,000 per year to IDR 94,850. Additionally, the holding cost decreases from IDR 3,600,000 to IDR 94,888 per year, with the total inventory cost dropping from IDR 3,602,040 to IDR. Abstract

The use of rice husk ash as a substitute material for sand with a percentage of rice husk ash addition of 5%, 7.5% and 10% with the aim of determining the optimal percentage of the use of rice husk ash from the volume of sand with concrete without using additional rice husk ash or normal concrete and the age of the planned concrete to be tested for compressive strength is 7 days, 14 days and 21 days. The results obtained from this test showed that the compressive strength value of normal concrete at the age of 7 days had reached the targeted average compressive strength as well as the ages of 14 and 21 days had achieved the desired results. While concrete with a mixture of rice husk ash at the age of 7 days at each percentage did not reach the targeted average value, the highest value obtained was 16.59 with a mixture of rice husk ash as much as 7.5% of the weight of the sand as well as at the age of concrete with a mixture of rice husk ash with a concrete age of 14 days has not reached the desired value with the highest value of 19.70 from 7.5% of the mixture of rice husk ash from the weight value of sand. While concrete with a mixture of rice husk ash at the age of 21 days only one percentage of the mixture of rice husk ash can reach the desired average value of 21.12 from 7.5% of the mixture of rice husk ash from the total weight of sand.

Abstract

Mechanical strength in weld joints is important in construction strength. This research takes the issue of SMAW weld joints strength when receiving bending loads on hopper products made from stainless steel 304. Two types of bending loads identified: root bend and face bend load. This research aims to obtain welding process parameters that are able to maximize the bending strength value of SMAW welding joints on stainless steel 304 material. Taguchi's experimental design uses current strength factors and electrode diameter, with an L8 (4121) Orthogonal Array. The novelty of this research is the use of response variables for root bend and face bend strength values which are optimized simultaneously. Multi-response optimization using Grey Relational Analysis method. The results of multi-response optimization are applied in confirmation tests to obtain actual results. The combination of a current strength of 65 A and an electrode diameter of 2.6 mm produces an optimal bending strength value with a desirability of 0.7475. These parameters produce actual face bend strength response of 1071.01 MPa (an increase of 5.38%) and a root bend strength of 1065.86 MPa (an increase of 17.36%).

Abstract

This research develops an IoT-based machine condition monitoring system capable of real-time monitoring of machine power consumption to enhance operational efficiency and predictive maintenance in industrial settings. The system utilizes the ACS712 current sensor to detect electrical current consumed by the machine. Using the Thingspeak platform, data collected from the sensor is periodically sent to a cloud server and displayed in a dashboard format, enabling remote monitoring. The monitoring program is designed to reduce the data load on the server, with data being transmitted every 10 seconds to minimize irrelevant data redundancy. In testing, the system successfully transmitted data to the Thingspeak server stably, despite occasional connectivity disruptions between the microcontroller and server. Over a total testing duration of one hour, 100 data samples were successfully uploaded, showing an average current of 2.8 Amperes and power of 550 Watts, with an operational voltage range of 220-235 Volts. The uploaded data is not only used for monitoring machine conditions but can also be further integrated into analysis to support better data-driven decision-making in industrial environments.

Abstract

This research examines the potential of automating flowchart creation by combining ChatGPT, an advanced language model, and Draw.io, an intuitive diagramming tool. The process begins with inputting a workflow description into ChatGPT, which generates Mermaid code to be converted into a visual flowchart in Draw.io. This approach was tested in discrete manufacturing systems courses, where students often struggle to design flowcharts for complex processes. The study is categorized as development research and involves needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. Results indicate that this method significantly reduces the time and effort needed to create flowcharts, particularly for students without an IT background. Although manual adjustments are still required to meet certain standards, the offered automation provides a solid foundation for further development. The integration of ChatGPT and Draw.io has the potential to enhance understanding of complex systems across various fields, allowing students to focus on analysis and problem-solving rather than time-consuming diagram creation.
