The teacher in the education project is at the centre of the wheel, without which the efforts in the success story can never be sustained. This paper therefore examines the re-positioning of the teacher for sustainable education in post-COVID 19 era in Nigeria and Africa in general. To actualize this, the evaluation theory became the theoretical foundation; with a look at the African education retrospectively. A strong correlation was established between the “New Normal” and the teacher. In the end, the paper averred, among other things, that the teachers should become digital specialists, while education providers at all levels should prioritise remote learning process, revamp digital skills and education curriculum and enhance audio-visual learning. Among other recommendations were that the government should ensure inclusion of online teaching, provide the needed facilities, while the teachers themselves must be ready to move into the fast lanes of technology and protective teaching.

This study was motivated by the low level of computational thinking (CT) ability in students as witnessed by the author among prospective teachers, along with the changes that came about within the learning system in the move from face-to-face to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study specifically seeks to improve students’ mathematical computational thinking ability through the use of interactive multimedia-based teaching materials based on initial mathematical ability to support online learning. This quantitative study (quasiexperimental) was conducted at two universities, namely, Universities Islam Riau (UIR) and Universitas Pasir Pengaraian (UPP) in Indonesia. The research subjects were prospective mathematics teachers taking algebraic structure at the UIR (an experimental class) and the prospective mathematics teacher course at the UPP (control class) in the 2021/2022 academic year. The data were collected method through a computational thinking ability test and interview, and the test results data are processed using a statistical test. Normality is assessed using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test, and homogeneity is assessed using the Levene and two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) tests. From the two-way ANOVA test, a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 was obtained. This indicates that an increase is observed in the mathematical computational thinking ability of students who receive learning using interactive multimedia-based teaching material based on initial mathematical ability.

Abstract: Private universities in the Kopertis IV area of West Java and Banten for the Cirebon area face complex challenges and responsibilities, especially when it is associated with the national development expectations imposed on PTS towards a new Indonesian society. This study aims to determine the effect of self-development and individual competence on the performance of private university managers with organizational climate interventions and behavioral tendencies controlled. The type of research used in this research is the explanatory survey method. The population in this study were all managers of private higher education institutions Kopertis IV West Java and Banten for the Cirebon area, namely (1) Majalengka University, (2) Gunung Jati Swadaya University (UNSWAGATI), (3) Kuningan University and (4) Wiralodra University. . The sample used in this study was obtained by census from the population of this study which amounted to 159 people. An overview of the management practice of higher education in private universities in the Kopertis area IV West Java and Banten for the Cirebon area can be concluded that: (a) In general, the managers of private universities in the Kopertis area IV West Java and Banten for the Cirebon area are managed by people who have a tendency to STEJ behavior. (b) Self-development in four private universities in the Kopertis area IV West Java and Banten for the Cirebon area is classified as 'adequate' with a mean value of 3.92. Where most of the respondents view self-development as important. (c) Individual Competencies in four Private Universities in the Kopertis IV area of West Java and Banten for the Cirebon area are classified as 'very adequate' with a mean value of 4.02. Where most of the respondents view individual competence as very important. (d) Organizational climate in four private universities in the Kopertis area IV, West Java and Banten for the Cirebon area is classified as 'conducive' with a mean value of 3.43. Where most of the respondents view organizational climate as important. (e) The performance of individual managers at four private universities in the Kopertis area IV, West Java and Banten for the Cirebon area is classified as 'adequate' with a mean value of 3.96. Where most of the individual performance of PTS managers is adequate.

The Covid-19 pandemic is a tragedy that grieves the entire population of the earth. All segments of human life on earth are disturbed, education is no exception. Many countries closed schools, universities, including Indonesia. This study aims to reveal (1) the learning innovations teachers’ developed by teachers in learning English during the pandemic (2) the obstacles teachers' encountered during learning English during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a qualitative descriptive research design; the instruments are interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that the learning innovations developed by teachers during the pandemic were zoom meetings, WhatsApp and hybrid learning is a learning method that combines or combines online learning with face-to-face learning (PTM). Meanwhile Obstacles faced by teachers in using zoom meeting and WhatsApp were the internet issue students who do not affordances learning media facilities smart phones and laptops. This study may suggest teachers' to use the application media which is more exciting and interesting, furthermore the development of facilities to support teaching and learning using application media must be improved.

Higher-Order Thinking is a skill to be achieved to face the 21st century. Some previous research shows HOTS-oriented learning can improve students' higher-order thinking skills. This research aims to analyze the plan and implementation of HOTS-oriented learning by mathematics teachers. This research is a phenomenological research with a qualitative approach with the subject of 20 mathematics teachers in junior high schools who have attended the training. The teachers designed the lesson plan, implemented it in their school and then the FGDs are conducted to find out the experiences of each teacher. Research shows that mathematics teachers have tried to do HOTS-oriented learning, but still have many obstacles and difficulties in its implementation. Thus, HOTS learning must be done continuously to make students accustomed to doing HOTS-oriented learning activities.

Successful learning is when students change personally and interpersonally by being disciplined, managing emotions, and caring about others. Discipline in learning is a process in which some rules can shape student behavior. However, based on findings in the field, some students lack discipline in assignments, lack communication, speak harshly, and cannot manage their emotions. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and the learning discipline of class VI elementary school students in Kampung Bulak during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research design uses a quantitative approach with correlation analysis. The number of respondents used to be the sample was 85 students with data collection techniques using emotional intelligence and learning discipline questionnaires. The results of this study are that the value of r count is 0.576 compared to the r table obtained from 85-2 = 83 = 0.2133 then, r count > r table or 0.576 > 0.2133, where the results show that there is a positive relationship regarding intelligence emotional with student learning discipline. With a significant relationship at R square 0.331 or if it is represented equal to 33.1%, the relationship between the two variables is 33.1%. The remaining 66.9% is related to other variables. The study showed a positive relationship between emotional intelligence and learning discipline in class VI students at elementary school students in Kampung Bulak during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A common problem in mathematics education in Indonesia is the low interest in mathematics because students learning mathematics is learning to memorize formulas which they then formulate to solve problems. For elementary school students, this learning will be very boring and do not interact at all because they are far from those who still like to play. This paper will discuss the planting of math concepts for low-grade elementary schools through traditional games, according to local wisdom-based mathematics learning so that mathematics lessons are no longer a scourge for elementary students but become fun mathematics because children can learn mathematics from their games. Many studies have found that game strategies are effective in motivating children to learn mathematics and at the same time making the learning stop. The focus of this paper is on examples of traditional games that can support the learning process of mathematics and the role of the teacher in facilitating mathematics learning that isn’t directly integrated into the game.
