Abstract

Management of Muslim household finances contains several characteristics that distinguish it from non-Muslim household economic systems. In this study, the indicators are the knowledge of financial planning, experience of financial problems, knowledge of faith, and knowledge of Islamic financial instruments. The Respondents are married Muslims or Muslim individual who can manage Islamic family finances. The data were analyzed descriptively and continued with the SEM model estimation. The results showed that most respondents had not adjusted their financial budgets to the pandemic conditions. Meanwhile, from the SEM model, it is known that knowledge of financial planning, experience of financial problems, knowledge of Islamic financial instruments has an effect on Islamic financial planning with the greatest influence from knowledge of Islamic instruments of 0.48. The SEM Model of Islamic Family Financial Planning is a good enough model to describe the condition of respondents during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study determined the sustainability of Barangay Micro Business Enterprises (BMBEs) in Banna, Ilocos Norte. The research design for this study was descriptive-correlational. Data were gathered using a self-constructed questionnaire, which has been pre-tested to 30 other microenterprises and validated using Cronbach alpha. The participants were the owners of the 60 registered BMBEs in Banna, Ilocos Norte. This study was conducted from July to August 2020. The study found out that the BMBEs sometimes practice financial management, marketing, and manufacturing or trading practices. They have never availed of the different benefits and incentives that are provided in the BMBE Law. They sometimes experience problems that affect their operations. The BMBEs have moderate economic sustainability but high social and environmental sustainability. The business practices have a significant positive relationship with the BMBEs sustainability, while the benefits and incentives have a significant negative relationship with the BMBEs sustainability. However, the problems they encounter has no significant relationship with sustainability. The BMBEs are vulnerable, but by following different business practices, they manage to become sustainable despite their failure to avail the different benefits and incentives provided in the BMBE Law and the problems that they encounter in their business operations.

Abstract

This study described the challenges experienced by piña growers in the province of Aklan in areas where piña growing, and production activities were declining covering the from 2003 to present. Specifically, this study explored the problems encountered by the piña growers in piña fiber production, their views on the problems encountered and their coping strategies. The study used qualitative research design where phenomenology was used as research method. Data analysis was done using the process developed by Colaizzi’s (1978) as cited by Shosha (2012) to provide assistance in extracting, organizing, and analyzing to explore and understand the challenges encountered by the piña growers. Findings revealed that the piña growers encountered problems such as difficulty in the maintenance and cultivation, longer gestation period, no sustained market and interference of middleman, lack of planting material, natural calamities, infestation, shifting to another variety and lack of support. These resulted to decreased motivation, financial instability, and feeling of neglect but still have the contentment. In order to cope with these challenges, the piña growers turned to problem and emotion-focused strategies where problems are addressed pragmatically. The researcher recommends information dissemination and technology transfer of packaged technologies such as sustainable/sufficient supply of planting material, proper way of cultivation, maintenance, intercropping the SR Pineapple with other crops, improve fruit size and quality, efficient post-harvest handling of piña leaves, develop and improve the present fiber extraction method. It is further recommended that information dissemination should be made among concerned agencies such as the Local Government Units (LGUs), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Department of Agriculture (DA) for appropriate interventions in terms of market price of piña leaves, sustained market demands for piña leaves, and empowered piña growers, leaves processors, knotters and weavers through the formation of a cooperative. Future policies to address the dwindling piña growing activities and piña fiber production may use the proposed theoretical framework for relevant action.

Abstract

In creating employment opportunities and enhancing economic development in any given economy, it is not in doubt that small and medium scale enterprises (SME's) make an enormous contribution in those regards.this study aims to examine the impacts of government incentives on SMEs’ development in Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria. The study specifically applies the structural equation model as the main methodology for this research while adopting confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), for easier comprehension and emphasis. The study applied two manifest variables of human capacity building, financial incentives. From these overall manifest variables, the study applied 12-dimensional variables from which the study’s questionnaires emanate from. The questionnaire developed was administered by way of a questionnaire survey method to ascertain relevant data from the study area and population. The purposive sampling method was used to selected 360 participants of the study. From the study, the following findings were made of the dimensional variables: levels of participation in human capacity building are rated highest, Level 1 followed by Influences of human capacity building on decision making at Level 2, Applications of lessons learnt from the capacity building in business is at Level 3, Advances made in business following novel knowledge from the capacity building is at level 4, Observed enhancement in business following the applications is at level 5, and Frequency of human capacity building by the government is at the lowest level 6. stringent conditions to access the financial incentives is rated highest, Level 1 followed by Limited access to financial incentives at Level 2, Failures due to absence of Incentives is at Level 3, Observed Improvements in businesses as a result of the incentives is at level 4, frequency of the financial incentives by the government is at the second to the lowest, level 5 and finally, level 6 is the adequacy of financial incentives. The recommendations, amongst other things that adequate steps be taken to provide incentives in human capacity building and financial incentives, bring about development for SMEs. The investigation will aid in evaluating the workability and operations of SMEs in Yola, Adamawa State.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Indonesia needs suitable media and communicators to prevent the spread of the covid-19 virus. Therefore, as a social media with several users, Instagram has given birth to massive influencers to spread information digitally. Influencers' existence on social media Instagram can impact anyone, including their followers, by uploading content by inserting educational and socialization messages. This study explores the role of several influencers on Instagram to help the government prevent the spread of the covid-19 virus. The research was conducted qualitatively with a literature review approach and indirect interviews with influencer followers. The results show that influencers' role impacts their followers based on the content they have uploaded and the information they write on their Instagram social media. The educational content on Instagram influencers that are most viewed and responded to contains the importance of washing hands and using hand sanitizers, masks when going out, and education about the importance of social distancing. Influencers content that get the most reactions and viewers are disseminating education about according to the SOP when leaving the house. Several uploads of influencers who go directly to the field to help each other prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Abstract

Government is an institution that has the authority to create populist policies in dealing with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on society. Furthermore, Public Relations is an important part that can communicate government policies to the public. This study aims to analyze government policies and public relations to the Covid-19 public crisis in Banggai district. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. This study uses the purposive sampling technique; the informants arethe Regent of Banggai and the head of the Covid-19 Task Force, and the Head of Public Relations. Data collection techniques used through observation, interviews, documentation, and data analysis techniques used are the interactive model of Miles and Huberman in data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results of this study describe local government policies in the form of quick responses (quick win), health management, handling of economic impacts, and provision of social safety nets, as well as the contribution of Public Relations in the form of policy campaigning through print media, electronic media, social media (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), banners and conventional communication patterns (appeals through places of worship and BPU).

Abstract

Many salt-farmers in Pademawu lived in the middle to lower economic class because they still produced bad raw-salt. This study aimed to arrange a new model of developing salt-farmers skill to produce a high amount of salt in better quality. Qualitative method was used in this study. The data presented were the result of interview and observation. The researher acted as a research intrument that went directly to the fielt to obtain accurate data. The data analysis technique used was domain analysis, which sought to analyze general descriptions of research object at surface level but relatively intact about the object of research. The result analysis of this study was targetted to obtain complete description of the object without mentioned detail elements of the object research. This research only discusses the development of salt farmer skills competency. This research was expected to give valuable contribution of model of developing salt-farmers skills.

Abstract

Grooming products are now one of the daily necessities needed in human life. Not only women who use grooming products, but the majority of men also need grooming products to improve their appearance. The urgency of this research is to explore the values ??that influence the attitudes of men in Indonesia towards grooming products and their intention to purchase these grooming products, using the Value-Attitude-Behaviour (VAB) model. The research instrument used a questionnaire that was distributed online via WhatsApp and Telegram groups during June-July 2021, which resulted in 111 responses. Hypothesis testing was carried out using a variant-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) called Partial Least Square (PLS) and the SmartPLS application version 3.0 as a tool to analyze it. The results showed that self-concept (self-image and self-consciousness) and product involvement had a positive and significant effect on men's attitudes towards grooming products and their intention to purchase these products. Furthermore, the effect of men's attitudes towards grooming products on their intention to purchase products also obtained significant result. The results of this study illustrate that self-concept and product involvement have an important role in determining men's attitudes towards grooming products, which in turn will have an impact on their intention to purchase care products to improve their appearance. For further research, it is better to increase the number of samples that are able to represent the entire population and also refer to other factors that influence the purchase intention of grooming products and the use of other approaches in predicting purchase intention such as the TRA model. This study is expected to contribute to the development of male grooming product industry in the country by providing an overview to marketers about the important role of self-concept and product involvement in determining men's attitudes towards grooming products, which in turn will have an impact on their intention to purchase these products to improve their appearance.

Abstract

Digitalization has changed human behavior in carrying out various activities, one of which is consumer behavior in shopping. Nowadays, many consumers often make purchases of products online. However, certain products actually require a more in-depth product evaluation before consumers decide to buy the product, which can only be done by shopping offline, one of them is fashion products. This research is conducted to identify the factors that motivate consumers in Indonesia to shop online or offline and determine whether there are differences between these motivating factors based on the demographic characteristics of consumers. Data collection is carried out by distributing questionnaires online through whatsapp and telegram groups during June-July 2021, which resulted in 162 responses. Chi-Square, Mann-Whitney, and Kruskal-Wallis tests are used to test the hypothesis. The results prove that the relationship between the motivating factors to shop offline and preferred shopping method with the consumer demographic characteristics, most of them show insignificant results. Different results are shown in the relationship between the motivating factors to shop online with the consumer demographic characteristics, which most of them show significant results (age group, marital status and education level). Furthermore, research data also shows that more than half of the respondents still prefer to shop for fashion products offline rather than online although in the Covid-19 pandemic situation because they want to evaluate the product physically. Suggestions for future researchs to adopt a more representative sampling technique to replicate this research and adopt different product categories to explore how consumers behave in other product categories. This research provides a deeper understanding of consumer shopping behavior for fashion products both online and offline as well as provides an overview that there is still a future for offline fashion product stores to survive in competition with online stores by improving themselves to deal with consumer purchases in this new normal era.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology corresponds to the development of humans who increasingly need technology to facilitate their business. Currently, in addition to business development, the development of mobile games has also experienced a significant increase in terms of the number of users. The increasingly rapid development of game enthusiasts has an impact on the behavior of generation Z and the millennial generation in choosing the quality of the games they want. The main objective of this research is to analyze the determinants of mobile game adoption among Generation Z and Millennials. The study tool was an online survey that was given to 210 participants, all of whom were Millennial and Generation Z players of mobile game services. The researchers then put the theory to the test by utilizing the Partial Least Square (PLS) type of structural equation modeling (SEM) and the SmartPLS version 3.0 program to examine it. The study's findings demonstrate that perceived enjoyment, perceived ease of use, and habit have a significant and positive impact on usage intention. The managerial implications of this research conclude that one of the biggest effects of playing games service is to make people happy. Of course they feel happy because when they play games, they don't feel the pressures of life. As if they are in another world that makes them the main character.
