Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the relationship between competent parental involvement in caring for, handling, and educating children with birth impairment children. It involved 185 Bandung-based parents of children with a birth impairment. Skala Evaluasi Diri Kompetensi-Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus or SEDKO-ABK (Self-Evaluation Competence Scale for Parents with Children with Special Needs) was used as the instrument to measure the sense of competence, while parental involvement was measured using Kuesioner Keterlibatan Orang Tua dalam Pengasuhan Anak or KUKOPA (Questionnaire on Parental Involvement in Caring for Children). The results show that parental involvement in caring for, handling, and educating children with special needs. Based on the results of this research, training for parents is important to their understanding and skills in caring for children with a birth impairment.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of the 2024 general election on the stock prices of companies affiliated with presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs in Indonesia. The methodology used in this study is an event study to measure abnormal returns before and after an election. The sample includes companies listed on the IDX, with as many as 34 companies listed based on connection politics. The research period comprises 40 estimation periods and 20 event periods. The statistical tools used for hypothesis testing were the t-test, paired sample t-test, and Wilcoxon signed-rank test. This study found that election-related information does not significantly impact average abnormal returns (AAR) before and after. However, the event study results show that political connections between companies with presidential and vice presidential candidates affect market reactions to new information during the event period. This study is essential for investors and capital market practitioners when formulating investment decision-making strategies during the general election period. These results are expected to serve as a reference for further studies on the influence of politics on the capital market in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of intrinsic motivation and parenting style on personality stability among students at the Defense University. Personality stability is a crucial component in shaping resilient, consistent, and adaptive character, especially in a military educational environment that demands a high level of discipline. Intrinsic motivation is defined as the internal drive to engage in activities perceived as meaningful, enjoyable, and challenging. Meanwhile, parenting style, whether delivered by regimental caregivers or peer mentors (senior cadets), plays a vital role in shaping the attitudes and behaviors of students. Emotional stability reflects an individual's ability to process and express their emotions in a manner consistent with their developmental stage. This research employed a quantitative approach using a multiple linear regression design. The population consisted of 250 students, with 153 active students selected as the sample. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that measured the variables of intrinsic motivation, parenting style, and personality stability. The findings revealed that intrinsic motivation and parenting style simultaneously significantly influence personality stability, with a standardized coefficient of 0.83 and a t-value of 18.59. Intrinsic motivation alone had a significant effect, with a coefficient of 0.71 and a t-value of 12.29, whereas parenting style had a significant effect, with a coefficient of 0.18 and a t-value of 3.23. These results reinforce the importance of autonomy, competence, and relatedness, and support the two-dimensional parenting theory. The study also highlights the significant roles of permissive and authoritarian parenting styles within the military university context. This research provides theoretical contributions to the development of personality and motivation in higher education, particularly in military academic environments. The findings serve as a basis for institutions to design learning strategies and character-building programs that promote intrinsic motivation and support the development of a stable personality. This study also provides a foundation for future psychosocial interventions and initiatives aimed at enhancing student character.

Abstract

Inadequate access to antenatal care (ANC) is a public health problem promoting maternal and child mortality in many developing countries. In Niger, the utilization of ANC is a requirement for achieving some of the targets of the third Sustainable Development Goal (SDG3). This study analyzed the impact of maternal education on the intensity and timeliness of ANC use. The data were drawn from the 2021 Malaria Indicator Survey (MIS). Data were analyzed using an exponential mean model, and regression adjustment Average Treatment Effect (ATE)/ Average Treatment Effect on the Treated (ATET) estimators. The results showed that 68.66% of the women attended ANC three or four times, whereas 48.58% did not visit health centers up to four times. Only 27.09% of pregnant women attended ANC during the first trimester. The results from Poisson regression showed that ANC visits significantly increased with women’s age, education levels, urban residence, listening to radio, wealth index, and use of Fasidar medication. Moreover, the first ANC pregnancy month was associated with the women’s age, education level, and wealth index. The ATEs and ATETs were positive for ANC use intensity and negative for use timeliness, respectively. It was recommended that efforts to promote ANC use in Niger should, among others, promote maternal education through media programs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work motivation on employee engagement with integrity as a mediating variable, as well as to examine its implications for the development of an anti-corruption culture among permanent employees of PT. KAI. The study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 224 permanent KAI employees. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the assistance of LISREL software. The results indicate that the structural model with integrity as a mediator meets the goodness-of-fit criteria. Work motivation does not have a direct effect on employee engagement, but it requires integrity as an ethical foundation. Furthermore, work motivation has a positive influence on integrity, which in turn strengthens employees’ attachment to their work. However, integrity alone does not have a direct impact on employee engagement and requires the support of motivational and organizational factors. These findings suggest that motivation without integrity may lead to opportunistic behavior. The combination of motivation and integrity fosters stronger, more productive, and ethically grounded employee engagement. Practically, this study highlights the importance of strengthening work motivation framed by integrity to build a sustainable anti-corruption culture within state-owned enterprises.
