Abstract

Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease that affects the airways and is commonly found in adults. The condition is characterized by bronchial hyperresponsiveness, airway inflammation, and reversible airflow obstruction triggered by various internal and external stimuli. Clinically, asthma presents with recurrent episodic symptoms such as wheezing, persistent coughing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. These symptoms often lead to the accumulation of mucus or secretions in the respiratory tract, which can obstruct the airways and result in ineffective airway clearance. If not properly managed, this condition may worsen respiratory distress and significantly reduce the patient’s quality of life. Therefore, comprehensive nursing care is required to help maintain airway patency and improve respiratory function in patients with bronchial asthma. This study employed a descriptive case study approach to examine the nursing care provided to a patient diagnosed with bronchial asthma in the Bethesda Room at Monompia General Hospital GMIBM Kotamobagu. Data collection was conducted through patient interviews, direct observation, and physical examination to identify the patient’s clinical condition and nursing problems. The primary nursing diagnosis identified was ineffective airway clearance related to airway hypersecretion. Nursing interventions included the implementation of effective coughing exercises as a non-pharmacological therapy, patient positioning, monitoring of sputum production, and collaboration with pharmacological therapy when necessary. The results of the nursing intervention showed improvement in the patient’s airway clearance ability, indicated by increased effectiveness of coughing and reduced sputum retention. In conclusion, the application of effective coughing techniques combined with comprehensive nursing care can support airway clearance and improve respiratory comfort in patients with bronchial asthma. These findings highlight the important role of nurses in implementing non-pharmacological interventions to optimize respiratory management in clinical settings.

Abstract

Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is a leading aquaculture commodity in Indonesia, with high market demand for both domestic consumption and export. However, cultivation continues to fail, primarily due to water quality problems. Water-quality parameters play a crucial role in the ecosystem of intensive shrimp ponds. This study aimed to determine the effect of stocking density on water quality and production outcomes. The research was conducted over one shrimp culture cycle at PT Shihe Udang Industry Indonesia. The results showed that the water-quality dynamics in all three observed ponds tended to increase as the day of culture progressed, and the parameters that most strongly influenced shrimp growth and production were NH4⁺, total organic matter, and total Vibrio count. The data indicate that higher stocking densities strongly affect water quality: Pond A1 (361 shrimp/m²) had more stable water quality than ponds A5 (637 shrimp/m²) and C (1,296 shrimp/m²). Production in Pond A1 was the most optimal at 11,220.31 kg, with a survival rate of 68% and a feed conversion ratio of 1.47. The lowest production occurred in Pond C at 1,484.56 kg, with a survival rate of 25% and a feed conversion ratio of 2.43. The poor production performance in Pond C was driven by the very high stocking density, which deteriorated water quality; the high total Vibrio count also contributed to shrimp mortality.

Abstract

The policy of increasing fuel prices has occurred several times from time to time during the leadership at that time. The reciprocal relationship between rising production costs and declining people's purchasing power has weakened the overall economic cycle in Indonesia. In carrying out life, people in their daily lives certainly cannot be separated from basic necessities and can be said to depend on the fulfillment of these basic needs. This is indeed natural because in life, people need to consume food that comes from basic needs to meet nutritional intake. Based on the Pearson correlation value in the correlation test, it is known that the correlation value is 0.844, so the level of relationship between the increase in fuel prices and the price of basic necessities is in a very strong position.

Abstract

Production is an activity carried out by a company to add use to an object or create new objects that are more useful for everyone to meet their needs. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact on the textile sector. During this pandemic, demand in the local market has decreased significantly. The stock of goods owned by the local market cannot accommodate the decrease in demand. For convection or garment companies, the price of raw materials has increased by up to 30%. This increase certainly has an impact that makes it difficult to get raw materials for the production process. These results indicate that when the price of raw materials increases, there will be an increase in production, but when the price of raw materials decreases, it will make production decreases. An increase in production when the price of raw materials increases is a sign that garment business actors are still trying to meet consumer needs for garment products. This also indicates that garment entrepreneurs continue to increase production when raw material prices increase, which indirectly indicates that the garment industry has good potential to survive the COVID-19 pandemic.
