Abstract

The movement of people from rural areas towards urban units is understood as rural-to-urban migration. Women empowerment is the process that leads women to ownership of resources, improves their ability to control their lives and families, and allows them to make decisions to develop new strategies in life. The rural-to-urban migration in Pakistan changes the socioeconomic status of women through their engagements in formal job markets and increases earning sources through paid or professional work. In the Philippines, the economic driver is one of the primary and dominant forces for rural-to-urban migration. This study aimed to assess the impacts of migration on women’s socio-economic status. Also, it focused on exploring migration trends and women’s engagement in the labour market after migration in both countries.

Abstract

Syria and Yemen are countries that have been hit by prolonged conflict. This conflict occurred because of demands to revolutionize the corrupt government. The demands for revolution in Yemen initially succeeded in overthrowing Ali Al Saleh as president of the country. Instead of the overthrow of Ali Al Saleh, the situation in Yemen became conducive to the opposite, namely a condition where Yemen became a country that lost its political orientation. This is different from Syria where Hafez Assad handed over full military power in order to continue his power so that Syria is still fully controlled by Hafez Assad. This study discusses the comparison of the situations of the two countries during the revolution that occurred in the Middle East.

Abstract

This study highlights the increasing discrimination and religious intolerance in Indonesia, which requires awareness of the importance of religious moderation. This research explores the values of moderation in Manganan traditional rituals in Blingoh Village, Jepara, through descriptive qualitative methods with in-depth interviews and documentation studies. The results show that Manganan strengthens societal harmony by highlighting the values of tawassuth (middle attitude) and tawazun (balance). This tradition reflects the principles of Islamic moderation as in the QS. Al-Baqarah: 143, emphasizes tolerance and balance. Eating together (sego katan) strengthens social relations, cooperation and interfaith dialogue. This ritual preserves the values of togetherness and tolerance as a cultural heritage that fosters love and peace in people's lives.

Abstract

Philosophy of science is useful for the development of legal science, with assumptions about ways of thinking, empirical results, and their limitations. Philosophy questions and analyzes the basis of observation, reasoning, including conclusions that underlie scientific methods in legal science. Through literature research, it can be seen that the epistemological and logical approaches, philosophy of science help understand the limitations and validity of scientific knowledge, and debate concepts such as objectivity, truth, and the reality of scientific methods to reveal current ways of developing legal science, such as abductive, deductive, and inductive. Philosophy of science and scientific methods complement each other and expand legal theory and practice.

Abstract

Based on case data received at the Sleman Regency Religious Court in 2021–2022, there has been an increase in the number of divorce cases, with 76% of the total cases being divorce lawsuits filed by wives, while 24% were divorce lawsuits filed by husbands. This empirical legal research found that from the perspective of Islamic Law, divorce is permitted if household life can no longer be maintained. However, Islam still prioritizes mediation and peaceful resolution before a divorce decision is made. The Compilation of Islamic Law and the Marriage Law in Indonesia also regulates the age limit for marriage and the divorce lawsuit mechanism to protect the rights of married couples. This research is expected to provide insight to the public and policy makers regarding the impact of early marriage and the importance of mental and economic readiness before marriage. In addition, the results of this study can be a reference in formulating divorce prevention policies among young couples.

Abstract

The government policy regarding school/madrasah accreditation and its implementation has been reported by mass media. Kompas, as one of the largest mass media outlets in Indonesia, has covered the policy and its implementation in two ways: criticism and support. These reports were analyzed using critical discourse analysis, facilitated by Atlas.ti software. The analysis results indicate that Kompas criticizes the policy and its implementation by featuring critical news articulated by education activists. On other occasions, Kompas supports the policy by directly quoting statements from officials.

Abstract

This paper intends to explore the hadith on the method of educating children to formulate important points in instilling anti-violence ideas to school. The exploration is limited to the text of the hadiths narrated in the kutus tis'ah to be analyzed through content analysis. In the hadith, the method of Islamic religious education emphasizes empathetic interaction to be felt as a necessity in anti-violence education . This role model can be deliberate to act consciously imitated by the children. Another form is behavior in accordance with the values ​​and norms that will be instilled in children so that they unintentionally become role models for children. All can be adapted in school outside the family by considering the factors of the giver, recipient, material and context.
