Abstract

Utilizing econometric modeling and data from thirty-three observations, the study investigates how important economic variables affect LFPR.GDP growth, the FDI ratio, inflation, and trade ratios are among the variables. The findings show a relationship between long-term fixed rate mortgages and foreign direct investment (FDI), but not between total lending. The effects of inflation and GDP growth are less evident. The study highlights the complexity of labor market behavior modeling while taking into account potential problems with econometric models, such as heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation. The results also significantly close knowledge gaps in the economic dynamics underlying labor force participation and provide policymakers with recommendations for improving the efficiency and inclusivity of the labor market. The analysis's conclusions show that all the various social, demographic, and economic factors that affect labor force dynamics must be taken into account when creating policy.

Abstract

This multidimensional literature review explores the complex interplay between leadership styles, employee engagement, and organizational performance, providing a comprehensive analysis across various sectors such as healthcare, education, IT, and non-profits. It critically examines how transformational, transactional, and servant leadership paradigms distinctly influence employee engagement levels and, subsequently, organizational outcomes. The review delves into the mechanisms through which leadership practices shape organizational culture, employee motivation, and an environment conducive to innovation and high performance. It further investigates the mediating and moderating roles of innovation climate, knowledge sharing, and high-performance work systems in the relationship between leadership styles and organizational effectiveness. By synthesizing empirical findings and theoretical insights, this review highlights the strategic importance of leadership in enhancing employee engagement and propelling organizational performance. The findings suggest that transformational and servant leadership are particularly effective in creating engaging work environments that drive superior organizational results. This study underscores the necessity for leaders to adopt adaptable, people-centered approaches that foster employee well-being and development, thereby contributing to the achievement of strategic objectives and sustained organizational success. The review concludes with recommendations for future research, emphasizing the exploration of emerging trends and contextual factors that may influence the dynamic relationship between leadership, employee engagement, and organizational performance.

Abstract

This study analysed contending views over interpretation of Islam in politics between two major Malaysian Islamist political parties; Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) and Parti Amanah Negara (AMANAH), and how the differing discourses taken were reflected electorally. It explored the historical dynamics of conservatism and progressivism within PAS, and by extension AMANAH as its splinter party. Primary and secondary documentation analysis was conducted on resources ranging from writings and speeches of respective party figures, official documents and extensive literatures written on the subject. The research concluded firstly, a preference over Malay communalistic ideas in PAS was the main factor that led to the systematic elimination of AMANAH. Secondly, while PAS has a long historical root centred upon creation of Islamic state, implementation of hudud, and exclusivist attitude towards others, AMANAH views Islam from the higher objectives of syariah that emphasizes good governance, justice, and inclusivity regardless of religious and ethnic differences. Thirdly, a mutual contestation existed, id est not only AMANAH challenged the conservative Islamist narrative of PAS, PAS also challenged the progressive Islamist narrative of AMANAH. Finally, electoral contestation between PAS and AMANAH shown that AMANAH managed to edge over PAS in 14th General Election (GE14). However, PAS capitalized on ethnic sentiments to gain unprecedented electoral success in 15th General Election (GE15). While this research was limited to existing data in the field, future studies could utilize quantitative methods to explore how electorates on the ground grasp respective parties’ ideas and contestation.

Abstract

Indonesia as an archipelagic country with diverse tribes, races, cultures, and languages faces challenges in preserving the sustainability of its traditional culture, including traditional musical instruments that are important in various regions, such as West Java. Traditional Sundanese musical instruments, such as angklung, gamelan, kecapi, and kendang, have important philosophical and spiritual values for the Sundanese people. However, knowledge and development of traditional musical instruments is still lacking among the Indonesian people, especially the younger generation. Conservation efforts involve various programs and initiatives from the government, related institutions, and local communities, but the challenges of globalization and modernization require more intensive efforts to promote, preserve, and develop traditional Sundanese musical instruments to the younger generation and the outside world.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the comparison of public administration between China and Indonesia with a focus on institutional structures, policy processes and public service mechanisms. The methodology used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach with analysis of secondary data from various sources, including government reports, journal articles and academic publications. The research results show that public administration in China and Indonesia has significant differences in terms of institutional structure and policy processes. China, with its strong one-party government system, exhibits high levels of policy coordination and consistency. On the other hand, Indonesia with a multiparty democratic system shows greater flexibility and dynamism in the policy-making process. In terms of public service mechanisms, China tends to prioritize a top-down approach with a focus on efficiency and control, while Indonesia prioritizes a participatory approach with an emphasis on accountability and transparency. This research concludes that although there are fundamental differences in the public administration of the two countries, each system has its own advantages and challenges that can be used as lessons to improve the quality of public administration.
