Abstract

Corn is one of the agricultural sector food crop commodities that is widely cultivated by farmers in Indonesia. Corn is included in the group of National food ingredients which is positioned as the main staple food after rice so that it is called a buffer for National food security. This study aims to analyze the productivity and income of corn farming / Ha / MT in Sukanalu Village, Barus Jahe District. The research methods used are observation, interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis used is productivity and income analysis. The results of the study showed that the productivity of corn farming in Sukanalu Village, Barus Jahe District was 7.7 tons / / Ha / MT and the level of net income of corn farming for an average per hectare of Rp 20,296,666 / ha / planting season.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1. Analyze the cost of production of Arabica coffee farming. 2. Analyze the income of Arabica coffee farming. 3. Analyze the feasibility of Arabica coffee farming. The research was conducted intentionally in Paraduan Village, Ronggurnihuta District, Samosir Regency, which is one of the coffee producing areas in Ronggurnihuta District, Samosir Regency. The research population as well as a sample of 30 farmer families, was determined by census. The results of the study showed that the total production cost per hectare was Rp 16,721,658.80 and the income was Rp 42,866,267.94, so that the net income per hectare was Rp 26,144,609.14. The R/C ratio per hectare was 2.56. This figure can be interpreted that by sacrificing a cost of Rp 1, farmers get an income of Rp 2.56, and the farmer's net income is 1.56, obtained from (Rp 2.56 - Rp 1). This shows that Arabica coffee farming in Paraduan Village is feasible

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the availability of rice in Medan City, (2) Explain the conditions of rice availability in Medan City before and during the Covid-19 pandemic and (3) Explain the negative impact of Covid-19 on the availability of rice in Medan City. This study was conducted in Medan City, North Sumatra with descriptive analysis. This study uses secondary data such as population, Number of Rice Field Areas in Medan City, Number of Rice Harvests, Imports, Exports, Stocks and Rice Production in Medan City. Data was taken for 4 years, starting from 2019 to 2022. Data sources from the Central Statistics Agency of North Sumatra Province, the Central Statistics Agency of Medan City, the Food Security Service, Agriculture of Medan City, Perum Bulug Medan City and supplemented with several literature related to this study. The results of the study show that the need for rice consumption has increased every year during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the collection of documents of the Medan City Food Balance Update Report, the condition of the level of rice supply during and before the Covid-19 pandemic fluctuated, but the condition of the level of rice supply during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021 experienced a shortage. Based on the research results, the author assumes that the amount of rice needed in Medan City can be met by areas around Medan City and outside North Sumatra. This is confirmed by the results of written interviews at the Medan City Food Security Service, namely Deli Serdang, Asahan, Toba, Serdang Bedagai and Langkat for areas around Medan City, while for areas outside North Sumatra are Java, Aceh, and Sulawesi. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the availability condition experienced a surplus. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the availability of rice in Medan City in terms of imports and rice stocks has increased every year, while in terms of rice production it has fluctuated.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the income of cabbage farmers in Lobu Tolong Village, Peranginan District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, North Sumatra; (2) measure the level of diversification of farmers' income; and (3) analyse the factors that influence the diversification. The sampling method used Simple Random Sampling. Data were analysed using income analysis, diversification index (HHI and SID), and multiple linear regression. The results showed that the average income of cabbage farmers was IDR 2,115,308.33 per growing season. The Herfindahl Index (HHI) value is 0.74117 and the Simpson diversification index (SID) is 0.25883, which indicates that the level of income diversification is in the medium category. Statistically (simultaneously and partially), the factors of age, education, number of family members, and land area have no significant effect on the level of income diversification of farmers.

Abstract

The germplasm of red durian from Banyuwangi Regency, East Java Province, began to be publicized in 1997 and later became widely known as 'Banyuwangi Red Durian'. Since its publication, a number of farmers have been observed cultivating it in monoculture plantations, particularly spread across the sub-districts of Glagah, Songgon, Licin, Kalipuro, and Giri. Therefore, it is quite interesting and important to conduct a financial feasibility study of the Banyuwangi Red Durian monoculture plantation investment project. The financial feasibility analysis was examined using 6 feasibility criteria: NPV, net B/C ratio, gross B/C ratio, PR, IRR, and PP. The economic life of the investment project was set at 30 years, based on a land area of one hectare, a planting distance of 10 x 10 meters, and seedlings originating from vegetative propagation (cuttings). It was estimated to begin yielding fruit (production) in the 6th year, with a discount rate of 9% per annum. Based on the analysis results, it was determined that, across all feasibility criteria, the Banyuwangi Red Durian plantation investment project per hectare is financially recorded as 'feasible'. Furthermore, based on a sensitivity analysis of the financial feasibility results, specifically by examining the NPV, gross B/C ratio, and IRR criteria, even if a decrease in production quantity and price levels by up to 30%, as well as an increase in fertilizer costs by up to 30%, are considered (assuming other factors remain constant), the Banyuwangi Red Durian monoculture plantation investment project is still deemed 'financially feasible'.
