Abstract

The rapid adoption of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education has changed how university students learn, write, and complete academic tasks, while simultaneously raising new ethical questions that existing codes of academic conduct have not fully anticipated. This article examines student perceptions of the ethics and codes of conduct surrounding AI use in digital learning through a structured literature review of credible academic sources published between 2021 and 2026. The review indicates that students generally hold positive attitudes toward AI as a learning aid, yet they also express concern over academic integrity, algorithmic bias, and limited transparency. A persistent gap is found between the pace of AI adoption and students' awareness of formal institutional guidelines or codes of ethics. The article concludes that strengthening ethical AI use among students requires a combination of AI literacy education, explicit institutional policy, authentic assessment design, and continuous socialization across academic communities.

Abstract

Background: Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is a highly contagious enteroviral illness that most commonly affects children younger than five years. Although the classic clinical pattern is readily recognizable, changing viral epidemiology and atypical cutaneous phenotypes may complicate diagnosis and contribute to unnecessary testing or treatment. Case presentation: A 4-year-old previously healthy girl presented to the emergency department of a district hospital in Rokan Hulu, Indonesia, with three days of intermittent low-grade fever, mild upper respiratory symptoms, painful oral ulcers, and a vesiculopapular eruption involving both palms and soles. She was hemodynamically stable, had preserved peripheral perfusion, no respiratory distress, and no neurologic abnormalities. Examination showed three small sublingual ulcers and bilateral palmar and plantar vesicles with superficial erosions and erythema. The diagnosis of classic HFMD was made clinically; herpangina and varicella were considered less likely. She received outpatient treatment and caregiver counselling regarding hydration, nutrition, hygiene, surface disinfection, and warning signs. Conclusion: The case illustrates the diagnostic value of morphology and distribution in classic HFMD and the need for therapeutic stewardship. In uncomplicated disease, supportive care is the standard; microbiologic testing, antibiotics, and unproven antiviral or immunomodulatory therapies are generally unnecessary unless atypical features, severe disease, or bacterial superinfection is present.

Abstract

This interdisciplinary study investigates the intersection of biblical wisdom and classical economic theory by analyzing Proverbs 19:2 in dialogue with David Ricardo’s Law of Diminishing Returns. Proverbs 19:2 underscores the primacy of da‘at (knowledge or practical wisdom) as a guiding principle, cautioning against impulsivity and haste, which lead to errors, inefficiencies, and resource mismanagement. Correspondingly, Ricardo’s law demonstrates that the unregulated addition of inputs results in diminishing marginal productivity, highlighting the necessity of strategic balance in resource allocation. Drawing on liberal Christian theological perspectives, Jewish wisdom scholarship, and economic theory, this research elucidates the functional equivalence between ethical prudence and productivity optimization. Findings indicate that wisdom operates both as a moral regulator and as a practical instrument for enhancing organizational and personal efficiency. The study further explores implications for contemporary work ethics, time management, and the conceptualization of labor as a vocation (vocatio) rather than a mere input-output process. By bridging theological reflection and economic reasoning, this research contributes to the emerging field of theology-economics, offering a framework wherein ethical discernment and strategic action converge to promote sustainable productivity and holistic human flourishing.

Abstract

This study examines Psalm 90:10 through a hermeneutic approach to understand the phrases "Shiv'im Shanah" (seventy years) and "Koach Gvurot" (eighty years of strength) in the context of Hebrew theology and literature. This study highlights the traditional interpretation that often interprets this verse as a limit on human lifespan, and explores its historical, literary, and theological context. Using qualitative research methods based on literature study and a Gadamerian hermeneutic approach, this article offers a new perspective that considers the original author's intent, contextual relevance, and theological implications for the contemporary church. This study shows that this verse does not simply set a limit on human lifespan, but highlights the existential limitations of humans before the eternal God. These findings provide new insights into how this verse can be applied in the theological teaching of the contemporary church, especially in reflections on wisdom, mortality, and dependence on God.
