Abstract

Contemporary educational challenges extend beyond academic quality to include a declining emphasis on character formation and spiritual values. The dominant focus on cognitive achievement and practical skills has created an imbalance in educational goals, contributing to moral crises and the fragmentation of knowledge. In this context, the thought of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas offers a holistic educational framework through the concept of ta’dib, which centers on the cultivation of proper conduct as the foundation of human development. This study aims to examine Al-Attas’s concept of holistic education and evaluate its relevance in addressing contemporary educational challenges. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research, drawing on Al-Attas’s works and related scholarly literature. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using content analysis, without involving field participants. The findings indicate that Al-Attas’s educational framework emphasizes the integration of intellectual, moral, and spiritual dimensions through the internalization of adab. It also rejects the dichotomy between religious and secular knowledge, positioning education as a process of forming a complete human being. These results suggest that a ta’dib based educational approach remains highly relevant in responding to globalization and ongoing character-related issues in modern education. Therefore, Al-Attas’s thought provides a strong conceptual foundation for developing an integrative, value-oriented, and contextually responsive educational system.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent of the effect of integrating motivational elements in the teaching of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) on muamalah using the Targhib Wa Tarhib book, as well as to measure the students' understanding and enthusiasm in the learning process. The method used is qualitative by conducting participatory observation, interviews, and documentation collection. This research was conducted at the Al-Manshur Popongan West Complex Girls' Islamic Boarding School, Klaten, with research subjects consisting of kyai, boarding school administrators, and students. The findings of the study indicate that teaching based on the Targhib Wa Tarhib book is effective in improving students' understanding of muamalah material, which is characterized by the students' ability to connect the concepts taught with everyday life and changes in behavior towards a more positive direction. Furthermore, students show very high enthusiasm for learning, seen from their desire to participate in activities, actively ask questions, and take part in discussions both inside and outside the classroom environment. Even though Targhib Wa Tarhib does not discuss muamalah in a technical way, the motivational values contained in it have the potential to shape the moral and spiritual awareness of students in interacting within muamalah. Thus, integrating motivational elements in the learning process has been proven to be able to create meaningful learning experiences, not only in the cognitive realm but also in effective and social aspects.

Abstract

Public services in the health sector are required to be more effective, efficient, and responsive to community needs. One effort to improve service quality is through information technology-based innovation. This study aims to analyze public service innovation through the Electronic Total Dewe Registration (E-Pentole) system at Bhayangkara Hospital Surabaya. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research analysis uses Everett M. Rogers' Diffusion of Innovation theory, which includes five indicators: relative advantage, suitability, complexity, trialability, and visibility of results. The results show that the implementation of E-Pentole can improve the efficiency of the patient registration process, reduce service queues, and simplify the management of hospital administrative data. This system is considered to have advantages over manual systems because it is faster, more practical, and integrated with patient medical records. However, challenges remain, such as varying levels of patient technology literacy and the need for increased public outreach. Therefore, continuous system development is needed through increased staff training, system maintenance, and the development of digital service features to support more optimal health services.

Abstract

The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology enables physical devices to operate intelligently through remote monitoring and control processes. One of its applications is an automatic plant watering system designed to assist in plant care without the need for manual watering at all times. This system is intended for users who enjoy gardening or maintaining plants but have limited time to water them regularly. This project develops a watering system based on ESP32, connected to a soil moisture sensor to monitor the condition of the growing media in real time. When the moisture level falls below a certain threshold, a water pump is automatically activated according to a predefined watering duration. The system integrates hardware components, namely the ESP32 and sensors, with the Firebase cloud service. In addition, users can manually control the system through a Wi-Fi-based mobile application. The project demonstrates that the system operates effectively. This solution has the potential for further development, such as optimizing the watering algorithm, integrating data storage, and improving water usage efficiency through long-term moisture pattern analysis.

Abstract

Vaginismus is a sexual dysfunction disorder in women characterized by the inability or difficulty to achieve penetration due to involuntary contraction of the pelvic floor muscles, often accompanied by pain as well as anxiety and avoidance responses. In the latest classification, this condition is included in genito-pelvic pain/penetration disorder (GPPPD). The prevalence of vaginismus varies and tends to be underdiagnosed due to stigma, embarrassment, and limitations in reporting and clinical examination. The etiology of vaginismus is multifactorial, involving the interaction of biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors. Its pathophysiology is related to a recurring pain–fear–muscle contraction cycle, which exacerbates symptoms and perpetuates the disorder. Diagnosis is established through targeted history taking, assessment of pain and anxiety related to penetration, and evaluation of the patient’s response to gradual examination. Management is carried out using a multimodal and stepwise approach, including education, progressive dilator therapy, pelvic floor physiotherapy, and psychological interventions such as sexual counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy. In severe or refractory cases, additional therapies such as botulinum toxin may be considered. A comprehensive and integrated approach is expected to improve treatment outcomes and patients’ quality of life.

Abstract

The advancement of science and technology demands interpretation of the Qur'an that remains relevant to contemporary times. As Muslims believe, the Qur'an is shalih fii kulli zaman wa makan—relevant for every time and place. The Qur'an not only contains verses of worship but also explicitly mentions plants as evidence of Allah's power and as sources of benefit for all living beings. This study aims to comparatively analyze the interpretations of Agus Purwanto and the Kemenag RI Tafsir regarding plant-related verses, as well as to identify their similarities and differences. The method used is qualitative-comparative (muqaran) with a library research approach. Primary sources include Agus Purwanto's works (Ayat-Ayat Semesta and Nalar Ayat-Ayat Semesta) and the Al-Qur'an dan Tafsirnya by Kemenag RI. The results show that both explain the functions and benefits of plants scientifically, use the Indonesian language, and reflect on Allah's blessings. Differences lie in the scope of verses interpreted—Agus Purwanto focuses on Q.S. Al-Insan: 17 (ginger), while the Kemenag RI Tafsir covers more verses—as well as differences in interpreting the taste and origin of ginger.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ammonia (NH3) levels in cigarette industry wastewater as an effort to monitor environmental quality at the Environmental Laboratory Unit of the Environmental Agency of Pasuruan Regency. The method used is phenate spectrophotometry based on the SM APHA 24 rd Ed. 5240 C.2023 standard, in which ammonia reacts with phenol and hypochlorite to form a blue indophenol complex compound measured at a wavelength of 640 nm. This research is descriptive quantitative in nature, utilizing a calibration curve as the basis for determining ammonia concentration in the samples. The analysis results show that the calibration curve has a good linear relationship with a coefficient of determination (R²) that meets the method validity requirements. The obtained data were then compared with wastewater quality standards according to applicable regulations to assess the level of pollution. Overall, the analysis of ammonia levels is important in supporting environmental pollution control and ensuring that discharged wastewater meets the established standards.
