Abstract

Learning interest is an important affective factor because it is closely related to attention, enjoyment, and students' willingness to participate in classroom activities. This article aims to describe the contribution of visual learning media to elementary school students' learning interest. The study employed a structured literature review by examining open-access journal articles published between 2021 and 2025. The selected literature covered static images, interactive video, digital comics, digital presentations, interactive multimedia, and augmented reality. The synthesis shows a consistent pattern: visual media can attract attention and make learning materials easier to understand when the visual elements are relevant to the lesson and accompanied by meaningful learning activities. Interactive video was reported to increase learning interest with an overall N-gain of 0.64, while an experimental study on augmented reality reported a significant difference in learning interest between experimental and control groups (p = 0.042). Other studies indicate that digital comics, images, and interactive presentations support reading interest, motivation, and classroom engagement. These findings suggest that visual media should not be treated merely as decoration. Its effectiveness depends on clarity, relevance, interaction, teacher guidance, and the availability of appropriate learning facilities.

Abstract

Traditional language is an essential element of Minangkabau cultural identity that functions as a medium of communication, cultural transmission, and social identity reinforcement. Globalization, technological development, and changes in communication patterns have contributed to the declining use of traditional language, particularly among younger generations. This study aims to analyze strategies for preserving the use of traditional language in Kenagarian Kambang Barat, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, religious leaders, community leaders, and youth, as well as documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that traditional language remains actively used during customary ceremonies, village deliberations, weddings, religious events, and traditional dispute resolution. However, its daily use has gradually decreased due to the dominance of the Indonesian language, digital media influence, changes in family communication patterns, and limited youth participation in customary activities. Preservation strategies include strengthening the role of families, empowering customary institutions, integrating traditional language into educational activities, involving youth organizations, and utilizing digital media as a platform for cultural education. Collaboration among all community stakeholders is essential to sustaining the traditional language as an important component of Minangkabau cultural identity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the economic impact of cultural festivals on the regional economy, using the anniversary celebration of Bulungan Regency as a case study. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach supported by simple quantitative data obtained through a Likert-scale questionnaire. The study involved 30 respondents consisting of MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise) owners, local community members, and other relevant stakeholders. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation, and were analyzed using an interactive analysis model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the cultural festival has a significant economic impact on the regional economy. Directly, the festival increased the number of customers, business revenues, and profits, with the level of respondent agreement exceeding 80%. In addition, the festival contributed to market expansion, improved business promotion and reputation, and created opportunities for new business partnerships and networks. The indirect impacts included increased business capacity, product innovation, and the strengthening of the local economy through the multiplier effect. In the long term, the cultural festival was found to support business sustainability, increase demand for local products, and strengthen the identity and attractiveness of the region. However, several aspects still need improvement, including facilities, venue management, and event organization, so that the economic impacts generated can be optimized. Therefore, the cultural festival held as part of the anniversary celebration of Bulungan Regency serves not only as a ceremonial event but also as a strategic instrument for regional economic development based on local potential.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of eco-labels and environmental awareness on purchasing decisions of bottled drinking water (AMDK) among consumers in Pati Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The population consisted of bottled drinking water consumers in Pati Regency, and a sample of 100 respondents was determined using the Lemeshow formula and a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics. The results showed that eco-labels had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, with a t-value of 7.931 and a significance value of 0.000. Furthermore, environmental awareness also had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, with a t-value of 5.699 and a significance value of 0.000. Simultaneously, eco-labels and environmental awareness significantly influenced purchasing decisions, as indicated by an F-value of 64.403 and a significance value of 0.000. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.562 indicates that both variables explain 56.2% of the variation in purchasing decisions, while the remaining proportion is influenced by other factors outside the research model. These findings indicate that the presence of eco-labels and higher consumer environmental awareness can increase purchasing decisions for bottled drinking water products; therefore, companies should strengthen green marketing strategies and environmental education for consumers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of good governance principles, with a focus on the dimension of community participation, in the management of TK PKK 3 Gunungsari, a community-based Early Childhood Education (ECE) institution in Pasuruan Regency managed under the guidance of the village Dharma Wanita/Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) organization. This research employs a qualitative approach using a single case study design. Primary data were collected through semi-structured interviews conducted on June 25, 2025, with the kindergarten principal as the key informant, supplemented by triangulation of perspectives from the supervisory board (PKK), teachers, and parents/guardians. The analysis refers to Cohen and Uphoffs (1980) four dimensions of participation: participation in ideas, labor, material contributions, and supervision. The findings indicate that community participation at TK PKK 3 Gunungsari is relatively well institutionalized. This is demonstrated through scheduled deliberation forums held every two months, the preparation of an activity calendar involving multiple stakeholders (the teaching staff, the village PKK Team, the village head, parents/guardians, and the district kindergarten supervisor), an installment-based contribution mechanism for parents/guardians experiencing financial difficulties, and financial reporting at the end of each semester and each year. The main supporting factor is the communitys sense of ownership of the institution as a village asset, while the inhibiting factors include the limited availability of working parents and a shift in patterns of community interaction toward digital platforms (WhatsApp groups), which has reduced the frequency of face-to-face meetings. These findings contribute to the discourse on public administration concerning the implementation of good governance at the micro-level of community-based public services. They also demonstrate that the success of participatory governance is strongly influenced by stable institutional leadership and support from village institutional structures. This study recommends strengthening the documentation of financial reporting through standardized written procedures, as well as conducting further research with a broader range of institutions and informants to obtain a more general understanding of participatory governance in community-based ECE institutions in Pasuruan Regency.

Abstract

This study examines how the YouTube video "Gritte Buka Praktek" constructs meaning around disability through the story of Maureen, a woman living with severe scoliosis and a tracheostomy, using Roland Barthes's semiotic framework combined with a qualitative framing approach. At the denotative level, the video records an intimate dialogue between host Gritte Agatha and Maureen, marked by warm lighting, close-up shots, and a calm conversational rhythm. At the connotative level, the analysis identifies three dimensions shaping a transformative narrative: psychological resilience expressed through Maureen's body language and vocal tone; empathetic, non-paternalistic relationality between host and guest that positions Maureen as an autonomous subject rather than an object of pity; and cultural counter-discourse that dismantles the "perfect versus imperfect body" dichotomy. At the mythic level, the video naturalizes three ideological mythsunbreakable courage, happiness beyond physical limitation, and self-acceptance as emotional strengthwhich frame disability as a source of humanistic meaning. The findings show that the video shifts disability representation from a medical-individual model, centered on limitation and suffering, toward a socio-affirmative model that emphasizes agency and dignity, thereby contributing to a broader discourse of inclusivity in Indonesia's digital public sphere.
