Abstract

Background: Steel structures at tropical ferry ports deteriorate rapidly, yet field evidence on how salinity, pH, and temperature jointly govern the corrosion rate of shipbuilding-grade steel plates remains limited in eastern Indonesia. Objective: This study quantifies the corrosion rate of 8-mm KI-A steel plates immersed for two to eight weeks at Hunimua and Galala Ferry Ports, Ambon, and partitions the effects of immersion duration, location, salinity, pH, and temperature. Methods: Twenty-four coupons were exposed for weight-loss testing in accordance with ASTM G1. Data were analyzed using factorial ANOVA, two-sample t tests, and regression analysis at a significance level of 0.05. Results: Immersion duration had no significant effect (F = 0.49; p = 0.492), whereas location was highly significant (F = 33.93; p = 0.000) and explained 62.3% of the total variation. The mean corrosion rate reached 13.15 MPY at Hunimua compared with 7.42 MPY at Galala. Salinity (p = 0.000; R² = 60.0%) and pH (p = 0.000; R² = 46.65%) were significant in simple regression analyses but not in the multiple regression model (p > 0.05), indicating shared variance. Conclusion: Salinity and pH, rather than exposure duration, govern the corrosion of KI-A steel in tropical port waters. Cathodic protection and corrosion-resistant materials should be prioritized at high-salinity berths such as Hunimua, and further studies should measure dissolved oxygen, current velocity, and biofouling.

Abstract

Background: Post-coal-mining soils are typically characterized by severe edaphic degradation, including acidic pH, low cation exchange capacity (CEC), nutrient deficiencies, and reduced microbial activity. Methods: This study evaluated the effectiveness of compost, manure, and biochar applied at 0%, 2.5%, 5%, and 10% (w/w) in improving soil properties through a twelve-week ex situ bioremediation process. Measured parameters included pH, CEC, total N, available P and K, organic C, moisture, and microbial dynamics, with Zea mays used as an agronomic indicator. Results: Biochar produced the largest increases in soil pH and CEC, while compost and manure more effectively enhanced organic carbon and nitrogen mineralization. Soil pH improvement followed first-order kinetics with treatment-specific rate constants. The 10% amendment rate yielded the highest Zea mays growth. Conclusion: Overall, compost, manure, and biochar effectively improved post-mining soil quality, nutrient availability, and corn growth, with biochar showing the strongest overall effect. These amendments offer economical, environmentally friendly alternatives for sustainable bioremediation, reclamation, and revegetation of former coal mine land.

Abstract

Background: While F&B outlets are recognized as critical revenue drivers, menu management has often been treated as an operational function rather than a strategic capability. Building on the Resource-Based View (RBV), the Service-Profit Chain (SPC), and Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC), this study reframes menus as dynamic revenue systems that integrate analytics, customer voice, and design interventions. Objective: This study examines the strategic roles of menu engineering, customer-driven menu analysis (CDMA), and food and beverage (F&B) revenue management in enhancing sales performance and competitive advantage among star-rated hotels in Bali. Methods: Using purposive sampling, survey data were collected from 90 F&B managers, executive chefs, and operational supervisors across four- and five-star hotels in Ubud, Sanur, and Jimbaran. Reliability and validity tests confirmed the robustness of the measurement instruments, and multiple regression analysis was employed to test the hypothesized relationships. Results: The findings indicate that menu engineering significantly improves sales performance (β = 0.612, p < 0.001, R² = 0.374). Customer-driven menu analysis (CDMA) enhances competitive advantage through guest-driven menu design (β = 0.547, p < 0.001, R² = 0.312), while F&B revenue management practices including pricing strategies, bundling, and provenance storytelling further strengthen financial performance (β = 0.593, p < 0.001, R² = 0.352). Conclusion: The results highlight menu management as a low-capex, high-impact strategic lever for achieving competitive differentiation. Segment-specific insights reveal that Ubud’s wellness market favors sustainable menus, Sanur’s family segment responds positively to bundled offerings, and Jimbaran’s luxury market prioritizes provenance-driven seafood selections.

Abstract

Background: Digital wallet services depend on frequent software delivery while operating under stringent requirements for availability, security, and accountability. In such environments, extensive CI/CD automation does not necessarily imply an equally mature governance framework. Objective: This study assesses the extent to which technical automation in a CI/CD pipeline is accompanied by mature governance practices in an Indonesian digital wallet organization using five ITIL 4 practice domains. Methods: A single-case mixed-methods design combined Likert-scale maturity scoring with semistructured interviews, direct observation, and document review. The assessment covered Change Enablement, Release Management, Deployment Management, Continual Improvement, and Information Security Management, with quantitative findings triangulated against operational evidence. Results: Change Enablement (3.4), Release Management (3.0), Deployment Management (3.4), and Information Security Management (3.2) were classified at the Defined maturity level, whereas Continual Improvement (2.6) remained at the Repeatable maturity level. Gap analysis against an ideal score of 4.5 identified the largest gap in Continual Improvement (1.9), followed by Release Management (1.5), Information Security Management (1.3), and Change Enablement and Deployment Management (1.1 each). Conclusion: The case demonstrates that substantial CI/CD automation can coexist with uneven governance maturity. Governance is comparatively standardized across change, release, deployment, and security practices, but continual improvement remains less institutionalized, indicating that technical capabilities have advanced faster than systematic organizational learning and performance improvement.

Abstract

Background: UBP Labuhan Angin relies on the high-pressure (HP) pump in the seawater reverse osmosis system to maintain the availability of boiler feedwater and the readiness of the power plant. Repeated shaft failures may disrupt the water-treatment process and compromise the reliability of electricity generation. Objective: This study analyzed the factors contributing to the failure of the HP pump shaft at UBP Labuhan Angin. Methods: The study employed chemical composition testing, macrographic and micrographic examinations, scanning electron microscopy, and Vickers hardness testing. Results: The findings showed that the hardness values of Materials A and B were nonuniform and lower than the reference value for AISI 440A. Material A had a lower carbon content, whereas Material B had a lower chromium content than the specified ranges. Fractographic and microstructural observations indicated brittle fracture, crack initiation in the central area, chromium carbide precipitation, and nonuniform effects of heat treatment. Conclusion: The shaft failure was associated with deviations in chemical composition, insufficient and nonuniform hardness, brittle fracture characteristics, and an inappropriate heat-treatment process, which reduced the material's resistance to cyclic operational loads.

Abstract

Background: Clone phishing can exploit trusted message formats and user behavior, while delayed event ingestion into a SIEM can prolong the interval during which a Blue Team remains unaware of a credential-compromise attempt. This study addresses the operational gap between phishing simulation events and automated security monitoring. Objective: This study develops and evaluates an early-notification framework that integrates Gophish, Wazuh SIEM, API-based event forwarding, and Telegram notifications, with the measurable objective of reducing phishing-event detection latency relative to manual event injection. Methods: A controlled comparative experiment was conducted in a Docker-based simulation environment using Gophish, MailHog, a Python API-polling engine, Wazuh SIEM, a Python integrator, and a Telegram bot. Manual Injection served as the baseline, while API Polling Forwarding served as the proposed mechanism. Detection latency was operationalized as the interval from the Gophish click timestamp to the Wazuh detection timestamp; Telegram delivery occurred after detection and was therefore not included in the mean time to detection (MTTD). Results: The aggregate comparison reported in the experiment showed an average detection latency of 72.60 seconds for Manual Injection and 3.73 seconds for API Polling Forwarding, corresponding to a 94.86% reduction in mean detection latency and a mean-detection-latency ratio of 19.46. These figures describe detection latency, not notification-delivery latency. Conclusion: Automated API-based forwarding substantially reduced the observed detection latency between Gophish and Wazuh and enabled automated post-detection notification to the Blue Team. Because polling introduces an interval-dependent delay, the framework is appropriately characterized as near-real-time rather than real-time.

Abstract

Background: Inaccurate manual quantity take-off from two-dimensional drawings remains a documented driver of cost overruns and rework in Indonesian building projects, yet evidence on the accuracy of native BIM-based quantity extraction for heterogeneous, multi-story residential structures remains limited. Objective: This single-case study evaluates Autodesk Revit 2023 for automated structural quantity take-off (QTO), cost estimation, and schedule planning at the Point Homy Haji Nawi building in Jakarta. Method: A descriptive quantitative design was applied. A LOD 300 model comprising seven pile-cap types, ten column types, thirteen beam types, three slab specifications, and six levels was developed from the frozen DED revision. The model was validated through a dimensional audit against the DED and owner verification, and quantities were extracted using Revit’s Schedule/Quantities functionality. RAB tender unit prices were applied, and floor-level deviations were calculated using Deviation (%) = (Revit − RAB)/RAB × 100. Results: Revit returned 557.83 m³ of K-350 concrete, 61,206.99 kg of reinforcement, and 7,575.00 m² of wire mesh, totaling IDR 2,966,557,705.83. The aggregate deviation from the RAB was IDR 9,426,887.17 (−0.32%), with a mean absolute floor-level deviation of 2.31%, which falls within the ±5% tolerance commonly accepted for tender estimates. The derived 24-week S-curve peaks at 10.02% in Week 16 and indicates a concentration of cash flow between Weeks 9 and 19. Conclusion: For this project, Revit supported accurate and auditable QTO, cost estimation, and schedule planning; however, broader claims regarding construction risk mitigation require confirmation across multiple cases.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia's digital used-car market has expanded substantially, with used-car sales reaching 1.8 million units in 2024 and financing totaling IDR 117 trillion in 2025. Objective: This research compares technology acceptance across two B2C used-car platforms with different brand histories: OLX Mobbi, which inherits an established brand, and Caroline.id, introduced as a newer brand in 2022. The analysis extends the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by incorporating Information Quality (IQ), Trust, and Perceived Transaction Risk (PTR) as a moderating variable. Methods: A quantitative survey was conducted with 200 respondents selected through purposive sampling, with 100 users representing each platform. The model was evaluated using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) in SmartPLS 4, followed by Henseler's bootstrap-based Multi-Group Analysis (MGA). Results: Information Quality and the Behavioral Intention-to-Actual Use path were significant for both platforms, whereas Perceived Usefulness and the PTR × PU moderation effect were not significant. Perceived Ease of Use and Trust predicted Behavioral Intention only for OLX Mobbi. MGA indicated no significant between-group differences for seven of the eight paths; the only significant difference was observed in the path from PTR to Behavioral Intention (p = 0.041), with coefficients in opposite directions (OLX Mobbi: β = 0.099; Caroline.id: β = −0.108). Conclusion: Overall, the two platforms exhibit broadly comparable technology acceptance structures. Information Quality is consistently important, whereas Perceived Ease of Use and Trust play a stronger role for OLX Mobbi. Nevertheless, the between-group findings should be interpreted cautiously because of limitations related to measurement invariance and discriminant validity.
