Abstract

This study examines the influence of the role of Civic Education (Civics Education) on the penetration of foreign cultures into Indonesian culture among adolescents. In the era of globalization, Indonesian teenagers are increasingly exposed to various foreign cultures through social media, entertainment, and direct interaction. This study aims to identify the extent to which Civics Education can shape adolescents’ attitudes and behaviors in dealing with foreign cultural influences and maintaining Indonesian cultural values. The methodology used in this study includes surveys and in-depth interviews with a sample of teenagers from various schools in Indonesia. The results showed that Civics Education plays a significant role in raising adolescents’ awareness of the importance of maintaining national cultural identity. In addition, it was found that adolescents who have a good understanding of Civics Education tend to be more selective in accepting foreign cultural elements, and are better able to filter negative influences that can damage local culture. Overall, this study confirms the importance of strengthening the Civics curriculum in schools as a strategic effort to protect and promote Indonesian culture in the midst of globalization. Thus, it is hoped that Indonesia’s young generation can become agents of change who not only appreciate, but also maintain the nation’s cultural heritage.

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by increased blood sugar due to decreased insulin secretion by the body's pancreatic beta cells which cannot use the insulin produced effectively. Kersen leaves contain saponins and flavonoids which can inhibit the absorption of blood sugar from the intestines. This research aims to determine whether there is an effect of boiled water from cherry leaves on reducing blood sugar levels. The research design used was quasi-experimental with a research design (two group pretest-posttest design). The research sample was 30 respondents suffering from diabetes mellitus at the Makrayu Community Health Center. Data analysis was carried out using the paired sample t-test. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, the average value of decreasing blood sugar levels between before and after consuming cherry leaf boiled water was 73.26 mg/dl, supported by a significance value (p-value) of 0.00<0.05. It can be interpreted that there is an effect of boiled cherry leaf water on reducing blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus sufferers at the Makrayu Health Center. The conclusion is that there is a significant effect of boiled cherry leaf water on reducing blood sugar levels in the intervention group. The average decrease was 73.26 with a standard deviation of 28.45 after administering the boiled cherry leaves, whereas in the control group the average decrease was 13.13 with a standard deviation of 37.80.

Abstract

Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) must start from the household structure, because a healthy household is a capital asset for future development that needs to be maintained (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2009). The management of improving PHBS is attempted starting from the smallest order, namely households, targeting individuals and families, then it will develop towards villages/sub-districts, sub-districts/health centers and healthy districts/cities until finally nationally it will be realized that all Indonesian people behave in a clean and healthy lifestyle. Healthy households are households that carry out 5 PHBS in the household, consisting of giving birth assisted by health workers, giving exclusive breast milk, weighing babies/toddlers every month, using clean water and washing hands with clean water and soap. PHBS indicators at the household level are very dependent on the awareness and active role of the community in their respective living environments.Efforts to increase healthy behavior in households have not shown optimal results, this can be seen, among other things, from the results of the 2018 Basic Health Research (RISKESDAS) which shows that in Indonesia only 39.1% of Indonesian households practice PHBS.
