Abstract

The construction of flood control structures in the area of the Isimu Solar Power Plant (PLTS Isimu) in Molowahu Village, Gorontalo Regency, requires continuous environmental monitoring to ensure the sustainability of the structures and to minimize environmental impacts on surrounding communities. However, community involvement in environmental monitoring around the project area remains limited, highlighting the need to strengthen the role of local communities through participatory-based approaches. This Community Service Program aims to enhance community knowledge, awareness, and capacity in conducting environmental monitoring around the flood control structures of PLTS Isimu. The program was implemented through socialization activities, environmental education, participatory discussions, and community assistance in understanding simple environmental monitoring indicators, including water flow conditions, sedimentation, and environmental cleanliness. The target beneficiaries were residents living in the vicinity of the flood control structures in Molowahu Village. The results indicate an improvement in community understanding and awareness of the importance of environmental monitoring, as well as increased community participation in maintaining the function of flood control structures and the surrounding environment. This program is expected to support sustainable environmental management and strengthen collaboration among communities, village authorities, and relevant stakeholders in flood mitigation efforts in Molowahu Village, Gorontalo Regency.

Abstract

The cultivation of Pancasila values from elementary school is a strategic step in shaping the character of the nation’s future generation. This study aims to describe how activities that promote Pancasila values are implemented through game-based learning for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 050 Cibiru, Bandung City. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a qualitative approach focused on internalizing the values of Divinity, Humanity, and Unity. Learning activities included lectures, discussions, Q&A sessions, contextual learning, and role-play, which allowed students to actively and practically engage in understanding each principle. The results indicate that the game-based learning model can boost students’ confidence in sharing opinions, foster tolerance, appreciate differences, and practice mutual cooperation during class activities. Additionally, students showed high enthusiasm and were able to connect Pancasila values to everyday life. Therefore, game-based learning is effective in reinforcing understanding and appreciation of Pancasila values among elementary students and can be recommended as an alternative method in character education.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a communicable disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted through the bites of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. The high incidence of DHF in Indonesia highlights the need for continuous prevention and control efforts, one of which is the 3M Plus Mosquito Nest Eradication Program (PSN) that actively involves community participation. This community service activity aims to support DHF prevention and control through mosquito larva inspections in the household environment of residents in Mayangan Village, Jombang Regency. The method used was door-to-door inspection of mosquito larvae in household bathroom water containers, involving the Mayangan Health Center (Puskesmas), health cadres, and students from the D3 Medical Laboratory Technology Study Program. The target of the activity was household bathrooms in Mayangan Village. The results showed that out of 33 bathrooms inspected, 7 bathrooms (21.2%) were positive for mosquito larvae, while 26 bathrooms (78.8%) had no larvae. For the houses where larvae were found, larvicide (Abate) was applied as a control measure. The PSN activities were carried out smoothly and received positive responses from the community. It can be concluded that the PSN program plays an important role in raising public awareness and reducing the risk of DHF transmission through sustainable vector control.

Abstract

Pancasila is the fundamental ideology of the Indonesian state and should serve as a guiding principle in national and civic life; however, the implementation of its values within society remains limited. In the educational context, Islamic boarding schools pondok pesantren play a crucial role in character formation based on Pancasila values, particularly the Second Principle, “Just and Civilized Humanity,” which aligns with the pesantren’s mission to develop generations with akhlaqul karimah (noble character). These values are believed to be implemented through moral development and residential routines at Pondok Quran Boarding School. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and describe specifically how the values of the Second Principle of Pancasila are actualized in efforts to build students’ character at Pondok Quran Boarding School. This study employs a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach with a qualitative design that emphasizes active involvement and collaboration between the researchers (university students) and participants (students). The actualization of Pancasila values, particularly the Second Principle, was carried out through socialization activities and a series of stages, including planning, preliminary observation, implementation of educational activities in the field, and reflection. The findings indicate that the PAR approach through interactive educational programs is effective as a medium for the actualization and internalization of the Second Principle of Pancasila among junior high school students. These activities make a tangible contribution to strengthening students’ character by fostering respect for human dignity, building civilized relationships, and creating a culture of mutual respect and a healthy learning environment within the school.

Abstract

Metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hyperuricemia, and hypercholesterolemia have become a significant global health burden, particularly among adults. Low awareness in rural communities regarding routine health check-ups remains a major obstacle to controlling non-communicable diseases. This community service activity aimed to map the health risk profile of residents of Mayangan Village through screening of blood glucose, uric acid, and cholesterol levels. The method used was a descriptive observational approach with direct examinations employing Point of Care Testing (POCT) devices. The results showed variations in metabolic conditions among 25 respondents, with several cases presenting values above reference levels that required further medical follow-up. This screening proved effective as an early educational instrument to encourage healthier lifestyle changes within the community.

Abstract

Maps are strategic instruments in presenting spatial information, functioning not only as visualization media but also as analytical tools to understand regional conditions, identify potentials, and formulate directions for sustainable development. In Busung Village, Seri Kuala Lobam District, Bintan Regency, local potentials remain poorly documented and difficult to access, resulting in suboptimal utilization in both development planning and tourism promotion. This condition poses a challenge for local authorities and communities to provide spatial information that is accurate, attractive, and easily understood. To address this issue, a Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) was carried out through QGIS-based mapping using a descriptive and participatory approach involving local communities and village officials. Data were collected through field observation, interviews, documentation, and satellite imagery processing using QGIS software. The mapping results not only display the administrative boundaries but also visualize the distribution of public facilities, natural attractions, cultural heritage sites, and conservation areas such as mangrove plantations. This activity expands access to spatial information for the community and stakeholders to better understand the geographical characteristics of Busung Village. Through this program, local residents gain hands-on experience in utilizing spatial technology to support decision-making, tourism promotion, and environmental conservation. Therefore, QGIS-based mapping serves not only as an educational and promotional medium but also as a strategic instrument to strengthen village identity and to promote inclusive, participatory, and sustainable development at the local level.
