Abstract

As the part of vulnerable groups, elderly people hold the rights to social security according to the constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This study has been launched for the purpose of revealing the picture of the facts and figures of the deprivation of social security as human rights violation of the elderly people in Bangladesh. The study has been done based on both primary and secondary sources of data. It reviewed the social security programs regarding elderly people such as, old age allowance, widow allowance and disability allowance. The study found that the government has taken several programs. But these programs have not been successful to achieve cent percent success due to corruption, nepotism and inadequate national economy. Most of the elderly people of Bangladesh cannot enjoy properly the rights to social security. For raising awareness about rights and responsibilities, enhancing proper ethical education can be helpful to remove these obstacles. Raising massive social movement against corruption and nepotism can also be helpful as the beacon of hope in the way of ensuring social security of the elderly people in Bangladesh.

Abstract

This study aims to examine religiosity, spirituality, and paternalistic leadership's direct influence on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) or through job satisfaction variables in the Creative Industry sector in Indonesia. This research can be categorized as explanatory research. This research was conducted in Indonesia's creative industry, divided into 16 business fields with a total sample of 406 employees. This study found that religiosity, spirituality, and paternalistic leadership positively and significantly affect OCB. However, suppose through the moderating variable of job satisfaction, the correlation coefficient is smaller than the direct correlation coefficient. In that case, it can be concluded that job satisfaction is not an appropriate moderating variable for the variable religiosity, spirituality, and paternalistic leadership towards OCB. From this study, we can conclude that religiosity, spirituality, paternalistic leadership, and job satisfaction in employees and organizational leaders need to be improved because they are proven to affect OCB directly. Thus, it will also affect individual and organizational performance.

Abstract

Single- Use Plastic manufacturing and use have risen steadily since its invention, spurred by the rising urbanization of the world. Ever since its introduction, and driven by rapid urbanization, there has been an increase of plastic production and consumption. The government, organizations, and other institutions should perform various investigations to explore the many limits, in any aspects, in order to address plastic waste and its underlying problems. It involves implementing many strategies and efforts throughout the entire community, including in institutions. A meta-synthesis of the challenges and initiatives faced by schools with relation to single-use plastics is essential to providing a complete awareness of the existing situation and development of sustainable practices in educational institutions. After extensive investigation of the synthesized articles the challenges were categorized into seven themes: manpower, equipment/facility and space, administrative support, financial, lack of information dissemination, attitude/behavior, and curriculum integration. Meanwhile, the initiatives were classified into six themes: environmental goals, rewards and motivation, disciplinary measures, knowledge and awareness, educational approach, and the equipment and facilities. This meta-synthesis concluded that the various difficulties faced by universities in managing single-use plastic hinder the implementation of those solutions as well as the various initiatives employed by universities to promote the spread of environmentally conscious and responsible people. School administration and teachers collaborate in integrating the reduction of plastic waste to the teaching instruction. In addition, incentives and disciplinary actions are among the finest ways to instill routines, practices, and habits in the reduction and generation of plastic trash. To lay a solid basis for environmental education and awareness, policies that set expectations for behavior and offer direction to faculty, staff, and students are established.

Abstract

The growing frustration among different disenchanted regions of Nigeria raises the question; if Nigeria’s current federal structure is delivering the full benefits of citizenship to every region? This study investigates the practicability of Nigeria’s federalism, taking stock of different challenges confronting the nation-state which are mainly economic and political. The study revealed that the current system of federalism fails to meet the standards of true federalism. This is based on the idea that the autonomy advocated for states and regions is not respected in law or practice. The study therefore recommends restructuring and autonomy, which are meant to give every state and region a sense of belonging, improve unity, create healthy competition and help citizens achieve their aspirations. This will safeguard against a heavy-handed and unfair central government, which will allow states to maintain a degree of autonomy and make decisions that they believe best serve local interests. The study concludes that Nigeria must focus on restructuring and autonomy to drive a decentralized governing structure, which creates balance, preserve the country's national unity and cohesion.

Abstract

Through its impact on a variety of societal factors, such as personal psychological health (PH), community involvement, political debate, and social connection, social media significantly shapes national well-being. Evaluating social media's influence on molding national well-being is essential for resolving its impacts and optimizing its advantages, despite the fact that it may have both good and bad consequences. This research investigates the relationship between adolescents’ psychological health (PH) and social media utilization. The information was collected over the course of several years as part of a research project known as "The Korean Youth Panel Survey (KYPS)." It is anticipated that hierarchical linear models (HL) will be used to investigate the psychological effects of using the Internet. The analysis demonstrates that social media usage on the internet has a negative correlation with students' mentalwell-being as indicated by self-expressed psychological health issues and thoughts of suicide (TOS) while retaining steady “a variety of time-lagged control factors at the individual (student) and contextual (school) levels." Since much prior research on the benefits and drawbacks of using digital social media relies on cross-sectional information, causal inference is not possible. This study provides more convincing proof of the direction of causality by employing longitudinal information.
