Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurship education and family support on students’ entrepreneurial intention, with entrepreneurial experience as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed using Path Analysis. Data were collected from 108 university students through an online questionnaire distributed via Google Forms, utilizing a Likert scale to measure four main variables: entrepreneurship education, family support, entrepreneurial experience, and entrepreneurial intention. Respondents were selected using a probability sampling technique. The results indicate that entrepreneurship education does not have a direct significant effect on entrepreneurial intention but has a positive influence on entrepreneurial experience. Family support shows a positive effect on both entrepreneurial experience and entrepreneurial intention. Furthermore, entrepreneurial experience positively affects entrepreneurial intention and serves as a mediator in the relationship between entrepreneurship education and family support on entrepreneurial intention. These findings highlight the crucial role of entrepreneurial experience as a bridge between entrepreneurial learning and family support in shaping students’ motivation to pursue entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Students in entrepreneurship study programs possess substantial potential to become future entrepreneurs. However, their entrepreneurial intention is influenced by various internal and external factors. This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effects of academic motivation and parental socioeconomic status on students’ entrepreneurial intention, with self-efficacy as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with a descriptive explanatory design was employed to analyze the relationships among variables. The population consisted of students enrolled in the Entrepreneurship Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Makassar (FEB UNM). A total of 75 students were selected using proportional random sampling. Data were processed using SPSS version 27. The findings revealed that academic motivation does not have a direct effect on entrepreneurial intention but has a positive and significant effect on self-efficacy. Parental socioeconomic status significantly and positively affects both self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention. Although self-efficacy shows a positive influence on entrepreneurial intention, the effect is not statistically significant. However, both academic motivation and parental socioeconomic status have positive and significant indirect effects on entrepreneurial intention through self-efficacy. The study suggests that the Entrepreneurship Study Program should place greater emphasis on strategies that enhance students' self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of social media and entrepreneurship education on students’ entrepreneurial interest at Makassar State University, with entrepreneurial mentality serving as a mediating variable. In the context of Indonesia’s economic development—where the number of entrepreneurs plays a critical role—the relevance of entrepreneurship education at the university level becomes increasingly important. A quantitative research approach was adopted using a survey method, involving 139 student respondents. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire measuring four key variables: entrepreneurship education, social media usage, entrepreneurial mentality, and entrepreneurial interest. The analysis results indicate that both entrepreneurship education and social media have a significant and positive impact on students’ entrepreneurial interest. Moreover, entrepreneurial mentality functions as an effective mediator, strengthening the relationship between independent variables and entrepreneurial interest. These findings offer valuable insights for enhancing entrepreneurship curricula in higher education and utilizing social media as a strategic tool to foster entrepreneurial aspirations among students. This research contributes to academic discourse and offers practical implications for educators and policymakers seeking to cultivate entrepreneurial potential in the younger generation.

Abstract

Entrepreneurial interest refers to an individual’s desire to engage in business activities, driven by feelings of enjoyment and perceived personal benefit. Self-confidence represents a person’s belief and positive attitude toward their own abilities, the environment, or anticipated situations. Family support is the assistance provided by family members to help address challenges more effectively. Motivation is a condition that triggers behavior and is closely related to the work environment. Meanwhile, entrepreneurship education serves as a learning platform to enhance knowledge, competence, and the intention to develop one’s entrepreneurial potential. This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effects of self-confidence, family support, and motivation on entrepreneurial interest, with entrepreneurship education acting as a mediating variable. The research employed a quantitative descriptive-explanatory approach and involved 121 respondents selected through proportional random sampling. The findings reveal that self-confidence, family support, and motivation significantly influence entrepreneurial interest both directly and indirectly through entrepreneurship education. These results offer valuable insights for educators to better guide students in developing entrepreneurial skills. Students are encouraged not only to focus on product creation but also to deepen their skills in business management, marketing, and decision-making to support business growth. Future researchers are recommended to further expand this study by exploring additional variables and methodological improvements.

Abstract

Economic growth is widely recognized as a long-term and cumulative process shaped by institutional quality, human capital, and the effectiveness of national economic systems. While previous studies focus heavily on macroeconomic indicators, this research highlights the interconnected roles of economic education and human resource development as foundational drivers of sustainable growth. This study employs a qualitative descriptive design supported by structured questionnaires and semi-structured interviews involving accountants, tax consultants, teachers, business actors, students, and economists to examine perceptions of the importance of economic education and taxation literacy. The findings show strong consensus across professional groups that economic education enhances societal understanding of national income, consumer prices, taxation systems, and development policies. Moreover, human resource development particularly through training, technical skills, and organizational support emerges as a significant contributor to economic performance and institutional stability. The study concludes that economic education and human resource capabilities function not only as supporting components of growth but as central mechanisms that strengthen fiscal capacity, improve public policy compliance, and enable long-term development. The novelty of this research lies in integrating economic education, taxation literacy, and human resource development into a unified framework explaining how knowledge-based capacities accelerate economic progress in emerging economies.
