Abstract

Stroke is when something goes wrong with the blood vessels in your brain, and it can cause serious problems like not being able to move or talk. The are two main types of strokes – one where the blood vessels get blocked (called ischemic) and another where they burst (called hemorrhagic). The blocked kind is more common and happens most often (almost 90% of strokes are ischemic). Meanwhile, hemorrhagic stroke is caused by a leak or rupture of blood vessels in or around the brain, thereby blocking blood flow to brain tissue. Based on preliminary studies, it was found that there was still a high incidence of depression in post-stroke patients at RSU ANNA Medika Madura. The research aims to determine whether there is a relationship between self-concept and post-stroke depression in stroke patients. This research method uses cross-sectional. The independent variable is self-concept, while the dependent variable is post-stroke depression. The total population was 94 stroke patients with a sample of 76 respondents. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The instruments used were self-concept questionnaires and HDRS. The statistical test uses the Spearman rank correlation test with a 0.05. The results of the Spearman rank test for the self-concept variable with post-stroke depression obtained a p-value of 0.000 < α 0.05. This research concludes that there is a relationship between self-concept and post-stroke depression in stroke patients. It is hoped that the researchers' suggestions can increase understanding about stroke, improve self-concept to avoid depression.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) cases in Indonesia and abroad are still a significant health problem. In Indonesia, ARI ranks first as a cause of death in infants and toddlers, with a mortality rate of around 20-30%. ARI can cause severe breathing difficulties, such as pneumonia, and ARI is also one of the leading causes of death in children under the age of five in developing countries. This study aims to analyze how to improve clean and healthy living behavior to prevent ARI in farmer families. The research method used was a literature review conducted through Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct in the 2019-2024 range. The keywords used in the search for articles were "ARI, Respiratory Disorders," "Unhealthy Living Behavior, Reduced Working Period, Well Ventilated House," and "Farmer, Family". Researchers found ten studies that met the inclusion criteria in the review. Prevention of respiratory tract infections (URI) in farming families involves practicing healthy behaviors, such as washing hands with soap, maintaining environmental hygiene, and avoiding exposure to cigarette smoke. The articles highlight the importance of understanding knowledge and adherence to clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) in reducing the risk of ARI. However, therapeutic communication is also essential, through providing clear information and emotional support to change unhealthy behaviors. The article still has obstacles, such as the underutilization of sanitation clinics, which calls for a more intensive and focused therapeutic communication approach to overcome these obstacles. Factors that increase the risk of Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) include cooking with biogas inside the house, high housing density leading to a lack of sanitation around the house, poor ventilation, heavy workload for farmers, which increases exposure to dust, smoke and toxic gases, intense smoking, lack of access or awareness of the benefits of local sanitation clinics, and lack of awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental sanitation. Nurses are expected to conduct community counseling to improve understanding of clean and healthy behavior in ARI prevention practices among farmers.

Abstract

The highest prevalence of chronic energy deficiency (CED) in pregnancy occurs in the third trimester of pregnancy. The impacts that occur are abortion, premature birth, premature rupture of membranes, histitis, postpartum hemorrhage, and low birth weight (LBW). To prevent negative impacts, giving Spirulina Platensis is believed to improve nutritional status. This study aimed to analyze the effect of spirulina platensis extract on improving nutritional status in pregnant women. Using a Quasi-Experiment with a pretest and posttest control group design with a sample of 60 participants consisting of an intervention group of n=30 participants and a control group of n=30 participants. The intervention group received treatment, namely being given Spirulina Platensis extract, 1 capsule containing 300 mg, taken once for 30 days and standard care, while the control group received standard care only. The sampling technique used was simple side random. Chi-Square test results in the intervention group mean pretest nutritional status (m=22.04, SD=1.170) and posttest (m=23.33, SD=0.922) p-value=0.000, while the control group showed pretest nutritional status (m=22.16, SD=1.104) and posttest (m=22.39, SD=1.016) p-value=0.150. The difference between the mean posttest nutritional status in the experimental and control groups shows (m=23.33, SD=0.922) vs (m=22.39, SD=1.016) p-value=0.000. There is an increase in the administration of Spirulina Platensis extract on the nutritional status of pregnant women. As input for health workers, especially midwives, to provide non-pharmacological therapy to pregnant women who experience chronic energy deficiency (CED) by administering Spirulina Platensis.

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical period in individual development marked by various physical, emotional, and social changes. Mental health at this age is very important because it can affect development and quality of life in adulthood. This research aims to identify and analyze factors influencing adolescent mental health through a literature review. The method used in this literature review is literature analysis from several international databases such as Scopus, Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Scholar. The results of the literature review show that adolescent mental health is influenced by various factors, including individual, family, school environment, and social factors. Individual factors include genetics, personality, and traumatic experiences. Family factors include family dynamics, parental support, and economic conditions. School environmental factors include academic pressure, peer relationships, and teacher support. Meanwhile, social factors include social media, community environment, and access to mental health services. This literature review found that the interaction between these factors plays an important role in shaping adolescent mental health. Strong social support, a stable family environment, and access to adequate mental health services can contribute positively to adolescent mental health. Conversely, high academic pressure, experiences of bullying, and lack of social support may be significant risk factors.
