Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem caused by a lack of nutritional intake over a long period of time. Dietary habits are healthy and balanced eating patterns that help control blood glucose and balance body weight. The cause of the increase in stunting rates is due to the lack of knowledge in adolescents who will become future mothers about good nutritional intake, due to a poor economy that makes it difficult for people to get nutritious food to fulfil children's nutrition during their growth and development. For this reason, stunting prevention can be done since adolescence. This study aims to determine the relationship between perceptions of stunting and dietary habits of adolescent girls at SMA Nurul Falah North Jakarta. This study used a quantitative research design with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 76 female students. Samples were taken with simple random sampling technique. The instrument used was a stunting perception questionnaire and dietary habits and validity and reliability tests were carried out, obtained the results of the stunting perception questionnaire (0.847) and the dietary habits questionnaire (0.645). The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between perceptions of stunting and dietary habits of adolescent girls with a p-value of 0.001 and a value of r=0.376. There is a relationship between perceptions of stunting and dietary habits of adolescent girls at SMA Nurul Falah Jakarta. It is hoped that the school can provide education about stunting and prevention methods that adolescents can do to break the chain of stunting in the future and provide education on how to carry out a good and healthy dietary habits programme.

Abstract

The use of Salbutamol for the treatment of asthma has been a part of regular therapy as a short-acting β2-agonist since the 1960s. In the GINA 2024 guidelines, it is indicated that the use of salbutamol in monotherapy has been associated with increased mortality and poor asthma control. Therefore, the development of alternatives that allow rapid identification of its overuse is of great interest for the management of the disease. In order to achieve this objective, it was proposed to develop the technological tool, Auto Asthma Alerts “AAA”, with the aim to identifying in the clinical history and in real time the overuse of SABA (more than 3 inhalers per year) and thus alert physicians. The platform was successfully trialled on a pilot scale in a healthcare institution in Montería, Colombia, MediSinu IPS.

Abstract

Early adolescents who are unable to deal with stress well will trigger maladaptive coping mechanisms such as self-harm. Self-harm behavior has become an adolescent trend that can endanger lives. This research aims to explore self-harm behavior among early adolescents at the Agricultural Area in Jember. The method used is quantitative descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was obtained using a proportional stratified random sampling technique with a total sample of 376 respondents. Data was collected using the Deliberate Self-Harm Inventory (DSHI) questionnaire and data analysis using univariate analysis. The research results showed that almost all the respondents carried out self-harm in the low category; namely, 319 respondents (84.8%) and the remaining 27 respondents (7.2%) carried out self-harm in the medium category, two respondents (0.5%) did self-harm in the high category, 28 respondents (7.4%) never did self-harm. The low category of self-harm behavior that early adolescents often carry out is deliberately preventing wounds from healing, and the least common is intentionally breaking bones. Early adolescents who engage in low levels of self-harm behavior do not mean that these early adolescents will not attempt suicide. Psychiatric nurses and community nurses are expected to be able to coordinate with schools to develop appropriate nursing interventions for early adolescents who engage in self-harm behavior.

Abstract

In the health sector related to maternal and infant mortality, one of the causes is infection which many mothers experience, most of which are the result of pregnancy complications/complications such as fever, chorioamnionitis, urinary tract infections and 65% are due to premature rupture of membranes (PROM). which causes many infections in mothers and babies. At Salak Bogor Hospital, all cases of premature rupture of membranes in 2016 were 240 cases. This research is to determine the factors associated with the incidence of premature rupture of membranes in women giving birth at Salak Bogor Hospital in 2016. This research is an analytical descriptive study with a case control study approach. The total sample in this study was 300 people divided into a 1:1 ratio, which consisted of 150 respondents in the case group and 150 respondents in the control group, using simple random sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using secondary data taken in the maternity ward at Salak Bogor Hospital in 2016. Data analysis used the chi square test with the SPSS version 24.0 program. The results of a study of 300 samples showed that the largest group of respondents in multigravida parity was 161 (53.7%), pregnancies without twins were 280 (93.3%), pregnancies without PROM were 295 (98.3%), mothers gave birth with normal position were 247 (82 .3%). The results of analysis using the chi-square test showed that twin pregnancies (p>0.247) and PROM (>1.000) were not proven to be related with PROM. Parity (p<0.005) and fetal position (p<0.001) were found related to PROM. It is hoped that the results of this research can be used as a source of information to increase mothers' knowledge about the factors associated with the incidence of premature rupture of membranes.
