Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of sustainability principles in customer service within the Bar Department through the application of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for waste management, as well as to identify the challenges and strategies adopted by bar staff at Jambuluwuk Oceano Seminyak Hotel . Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation involving informants from the HR Department, Bar Manager, and Bar Supervisor to obtain comprehensive insights from policy formulation to on-site operational practices. The findings indicate that sustainability efforts such as reducing single-use plastics, implementing a straw on request policy, and providing segregated waste bins have been introduced; however, these efforts are not fully integrated into formal SOPs, resulting in inconsistent implementation that largely depends on staff initiative, particularly during peak operational hours. Key challenges include limited supporting facilities, insufficient training on sustainability, and conflicts between rapid service demands and proper waste segregation. Nevertheless, bar staff have employed adaptive strategies such as end-of-shift waste sorting, reducing unnecessary plastic use, and maintaining internal communication to ensure compliance. This study highlights the need for a more comprehensive waste management SOP, continuous sustainability training, and improved facilities to strengthen consistent and systematic sustainability practices within bar service operations.

Abstract

This study analyzes community empowerment through the collaboration between the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) Baloi Usaha Mandiri and the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of PT Maruwai Coal in developing the local coffee commodity "Kopi Baloi" in Tumbang Baloi Village, Murung Raya Regency. A qualitative case-study approach was applied using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) concept, supported by primary field data triangulated with the company's Social Mapping report and Community Development Master Plan (RIPPM). The findings show that the empowerment rests on five community capitals human, social, physical, financial, and natural which have turned local coffee into value-added products such as Kopi Baloi and the "Baloi's Signature" coffee-leaf tea. However, a gap emerges: bonding social capital is strong, whereas bridging social capital remains weak, reflected in a marketing chain still dominated by local markets and middlemen. The study concludes that sustainability requires strengthening bridging social capital, improving branding and marketing, business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-customer (B2C), and addressing community grievances toward the company.

Abstract

Wage transparency is a strategic issue in human resource management because it is closely related to compensation fairness, employee trust, job satisfaction, and industrial relations stability. One instrument that can support proportional wage transparency is the wage structure and scale, which provides an objective basis for explaining pay differences across positions, competencies, tenure, responsibilities, and performance. This article aims to systematically examine the role of wage structure and scale as a strategic instrument for strengthening wage transparency and pay fairness, as well as its implications for employee job satisfaction. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review approach by synthesizing relevant national and international literature on wage structure, pay transparency, compensation fairness, organizational justice, and job satisfaction. The findings show that a clearly designed and consistently communicated wage structure and scale can strengthen transparency in compensation decisions, reduce ambiguity in pay determination, enhance employees’ perceptions of distributive and procedural fairness, and contribute to job satisfaction. This study implies that wage structure and scale should not only be treated as regulatory compliance, but also as a strategic human resource management instrument for building trust, preventing wage-related conflict, and supporting harmonious industrial relations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development and dynamics of the international tourist market structure in Bali using the Structure-Conduct-Performance (SCP) paradigm, identify the strategic themes adopted by tourism businesses in response to market changes, and examine the implications of these findings for the tourism industry. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving representatives from Conrad Bali, Madhava Property Management, and The Butcher Club Steak House. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing based on the Structure-Conduct-Performance (SCP) framework. The findings reveal that the structure of Bali's international tourism market has changed significantly, as reflected in shifts in tourist source markets, the growing prevalence of last-minute booking behavior, intensified competition resulting from the increasing number of tourism businesses, and lower market entry barriers driven by digitalization. These structural changes have encouraged tourism businesses to adopt four major strategic responses: the digitalization of marketing and distribution, product and tourism experience differentiation, strengthened digital branding and storytelling, and greater operational efficiency and flexibility. These strategies have enhanced firms' adaptability, customer loyalty, operational efficiency, and long-term business sustainability in an increasingly competitive market. The study also identifies a decoupling phenomenon, whereby the increase in international tourist arrivals has not been accompanied by a proportional increase in economic benefits for tourism businesses due to the growing number of market participants and intensified competition.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of human resource competence and the availability of work facilities on employee performance at the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) Klasur, Sorong City. The background of this research is the heavy operational workload to produce and distribute 3,200 nutritious food portions daily, handled by only 47 employees consisting of 1 Head of SPPG, 1 Accountant, 1 Nutritionist, 1 Field Assistant, and 43 operational staff. This study utilizes a quantitative approach with a saturated sampling technique (N = 47). Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression via IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The regression analysis produced the equation Y = 1.974 + 0.173X1 + 0.611X2. The partial test results (t-test) show that HR Competence (X1) has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (t-count 2.241 > t-table 2.015, sig. 0.021), and Work Facilities Availability (X2) has a dominant positive and significant effect (t-count 4.832 > t-table 2.015, sig. 0.000). Simultaneously, the F-test confirms a significant effect (F-count 29.733 > F-table 3.21, sig. 0.000). The coefficient of determination (R Square) is 0.575, implying that 57.5% of employee performance variation is explained by these two variables, while the remaining 42.5% is influenced by factors outside this study.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work flexibility on employee mental well-being with work-life balance as an intervening variable at CV. Nero Media. Work flexibility in this study refers to the freedom of time and place of work provided by the company to its employees. The method used is quantitative, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 170 respondents who are active employees of CV. Nero Media. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach to statistically examine the relationships between variables. The results show that work flexibility has a positive and significant effect on employee mental well-being, meaning that the higher the work flexibility, the better the employees' mental condition. Work-life balance also has a positive and significant effect on employee mental well-being, and is proven to partially mediate the effect of work flexibility on employee mental well-being. The R-Square value of 81.6% indicates that the research model has a strong predictive level for the mental well-being variable. This study recommends that CV. Nero Media strengthen its work flexibility policies, supported by management commitment, to sustainably improve employee mental health and productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of service quality on employee satisfaction in the laundry division of PT. KSO GDSK-PDI (KGP), Teluk Bintuni Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach using a simple linear regression analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 93 respondents selected using simple random sampling. The results indicate that service quality has a positive and significant effect on employee satisfaction. The regression equation obtained is Y = 0.400 + 0.967X, indicating that every one-unit increase in service quality increases employee satisfaction by 0.967 units. The t-test result shows a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) with a t-value of 14.341, confirming that service quality significantly affects employee satisfaction. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.693, meaning that service quality explains 69.3% of the variation in employee satisfaction, while the remaining 30.7% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study. Therefore, improving service quality is essential for increasing employee satisfaction within the company.
