Abstract

The aim of learning to solve problems is to cultivate students' cognitive processes by presenting them with problem-solving tasks. Depending on the nature of the problem introduced in the classroom, problem-solving techniques may be applied either collaboratively in groups or individually. The guidance and counseling program contributes to the development of problem-solving skills by incorporating instructional methods that train students to address a range of challenges—both personal and group-related—whether tackling them independently or in collaboration. This research adopts a library research method, following the steps outlined by Zed (2014): a) formulating a general understanding of the research topic, b) seeking supporting information, c) refining the research focus, d) locating and organizing relevant reading materials, e) reading and annotating research notes, f) revisiting and augmenting reading materials, and g) reorganizing materials for the writing phase. Data sources, obtained through offline and online means such as books, journals, and articles, are systematically collected to establish a comprehensive reference database focused on studies investigating the application of guidance and counseling in the digital era. The selected timeframe for inclusion spans the last 5 years, encompassing studies in both Indonesian and English. The chosen data analysis technique for this study is content analysis, providing a methodological approach to systematically examine and interpret the content of the gathered materials.

Abstract

Student Led Conferences (SLC) have emerged as a transformative approach to student reflection and goal setting, fostering a collaborative learning environment that empowers students to take ownership of their educational journey. This qualitative study delves into the implementation of SLC at SD Islam Al Azhar 60 Pekalongan, exploring its impact on students, teachers, and parents. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study encompasses observations, interviews, and documentation to gather data from 25 students and 2 teachers in Class 1B. Data analysis follows the interactive model of Miles, Huberman & Saldana, involving data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that SLC implementation provides a valuable platform for students, teachers, and parents to assess student progress and identify areas for improvement. SLC enables teachers to gain insights into individual student development, while parents gain a deeper understanding of their children's strengths, challenges, and aspirations. SLC empowers students to take charge of their learning by allowing them to select topics of interest for presentation. This fosters self-directed learning, encouraging students to delve deeper into subjects that resonate with them. Moreover, SLC facilitates open communication among stakeholders, fostering a sense of shared responsibility for student success. Teachers and parents gain valuable insights into students' learning experiences, enabling them to provide tailored support and guidance. SLC implementation at SD Islam Al Azhar 60 Pekalongan exemplifies the transformative power of student-centered approaches. By empowering students to take ownership of their learning, SLC cultivates a collaborative environment that nurtures academic growth, personal development, and lifelong learning.

Abstract

Reading interest and reading skills are inextricably linked, fostering a reciprocal relationship that enhances overall literacy and comprehension. Cultivating a strong reading foundation from an early age is crucial, as it lays the groundwork for academic achievement, professional advancement, and personal fulfillment. This study delved into the realm of reading interest and library activities at MI Salafiyah Duwet Pekalongan City, seeking to unravel the intricate connections between these factors and their impact on student learning. The findings revealed that reading interest plays a pivotal role in enabling students to attain their educational objectives and refine their reading proficiency. Furthermore, the study underscored the library's transformative influence on fostering a passion for reading. Students who actively engage with library resources expand their knowledge base, cultivate a deeper appreciation for the written word, and develop a lifelong love of reading. Effective library management encompasses a three-pronged approach: organizing, mobilizing, and building. Organizing involves meticulously crafting a comprehensive library plan that encompasses the collection, staffing, and physical space. Mobilizing entails actively promoting the library's resources and services to the student body and the wider community. Building centers on maintaining the library's infrastructure, ensuring its continued functionality, and implementing necessary improvements to optimize its effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the implementation of the tahfidz program at Al Fawwaaz PPTQ Islamic Boarding School using the CIPP evaluation model. Employing a qualitative field research approach, the study involved the principal, deputy head of tahfidz, and tahfidz teacher as participants. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model analysis technique proposed by Miles, Huberman, & Saldana (2014). The findings revealed that the tahfidz program aligns with student needs, community expectations, and institutional goals. Program planning is clear and purposeful. However, certain aspects require improvement, such as enhancing teacher proficiency in the classical tahsin system. The full tahfidz scholarship program initially targeted students with above-average memorization skills to complete 30 Juz Salama in three years. However, attracting students meeting these criteria proved challenging. Facilities and infrastructure are well-prepared, but specific facilities to accommodate students with auditory learning preferences are lacking. Process evaluation indicated that many students fall short of the set targets each semester, and nighttime memorization sessions are less effective. Additionally, some students prioritize fluency over proper makhraj and tajweed pronunciation. Product evaluation demonstrated positive outcomes, with memorization achievements aligning with individual student abilities. Overall, the tahfidz program at Al Fawwaaz PPTQ shows promise but requires ongoing evaluation and improvement to optimize its effectiveness.

Abstract

This study explores the application of critical education paradigms, particularly Rahmatan Lil Alamin, to enhance critical thinking skills in economics subjects through simulation learning methods. Critical education aims to challenge unjust social structures and systems by cultivating critical consciousness and empowering individuals. Simulation learning is employed as a means to promote active student engagement and stimulate critical thinking. Drawing upon literature reviews highlighting the effectiveness of simulation methods in improving critical thinking, the study investigates the impact of these methods on high school students' critical thinking skills. The literature underscores the importance of interaction, communication, and role-playing in the learning process, aligning with the goals of critical education. The research delves into understanding how simulation methods can enhance critical thinking skills in economics subjects and the effects of such methods on student learning. The study is conducted in a Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Batang, Indonesia, where learner-centered education is practiced, providing an ideal setting for implementing simulation-based critical education. Data collection methods include observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation analysis. The research employs a qualitative case study approach to gather rich data and insights into the implementation of simulation methods in economics education. Preliminary findings indicate that the simulation method fosters active participation, stimulates critical thinking, and raises awareness of real-world societal issues. Students engage in respectful discussions, considering diverse viewpoints and demonstrating tolerance, aligning with the Rahmatan Lil Alamin concept.
