Abstract

During the COVID-19 crisis, traditional learning has suddenly turned into digital learning, which ultimately poses challenges for students and teachers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the influence of personality factors on students' social networks appears to be a neglected area of research. In this study, we aimed to explore the relationship between proactive personality and social capital through underlying mechanisms (such as internet self-efficacy and online interaction quality), particularly to obtain data during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, this study also aims to examine the moderating role of perceived social support in the relationship between proactive personality and internet self-efficacy and the relationship between proactive personality and online interaction quality. Similarly, the moderating effect of perceived social support also investigated the mediating effect of Internet self-efficacy & online interaction quality. This study used a survey tool to collect data from 332 respondents, including students and teachers from Wonosobo, an area in Central Java. In this study, we found that students' proactive personalities strengthened their social capital through the quality of online interactions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Similarly, perceived social support amplifies the mediating effect of online interaction quality in the relationship between proactive personality and social capital during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the implications and directions of future research are also discussed.

Abstract

Abstrak. Deaf students have limitations in language, so they have difficulty in solving story problems. The use of mathematical problems with pictures makes the information about the questions readable with the use of few terms and language. However, it is possible for deaf students to have different terms so that they have different misconceptions or ways of solving them. the approach used is qualitative research with case studies. The subjects involved were deaf students without mental and intelligence disorders as many as 5 students at SLB-B YPPALB Magelang City. Collecting data using written tests and interviews which are then analyzed through triangulation of sources. The results obtained are deaf students are not familiar with pictorial questions so it takes longer. Based on the indicators of problem solving ability, deaf students have difficulty in interpreting the meaning of the questions so that there are errors in working on the questions. Errors that occur are errors in the concept used, calculating errors, and errors in the use of formulas.

Abstract

Abstrak. The problem in this study is to analyze the effect of teacher innovative behavior, principal transformational leadership, and school climate on the performance of high school mathematics teachers. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all high school mathematics teachers in Semarang City and Semarang Regency. In this study, one of the selected probability sampling techniques is simple random sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out by interview and observation, while the final stage was carried out using a questionnaire method. The data analysis technique was carried out by descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results of the study obtained descriptive data in the form of a profile picture of the respondents, besides that, a model developed based on theoretical studies and previous research was obtained. After conducting a confirmatory analysis of the research variables, the results showed that the indicators were able to reflect or explain the variables. Submission of SEM assumptions obtained normally distributed data, there is no outliers problem and there is no multicollinearity and singularity. The results of the full model hypothesis test indicate that this model is in accordance with the data or fits the data used in the study, and the conclusions obtained by the model are in accordance with the empirical data. The conclusion obtained from this research is that the higher the innovative behavior of the teacher and the transformational leadership of the principal, the higher the teacher's performance will be. On the other hand, school climate does not have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance.

Abstract

Abstrak. Astronomy which studies natural phenomena related to the motion of celestial bodies is one of the study materials that undergraduates in science education need to master. In this digital era, to study the relative motion of celestial bodies observed from the earth, various skills are needed and supported by the right technology. The author proposes scientific literacy skills as a dimension of progress in the ethnoastronomy learning progression of the earth's seasons for the science program undergraduate program. Scientific literacy skills have three dimensions, namely scientific concepts, scientific process, and scientific context. Scientific concepts are needed to understand the phenomenon of changing seasons on earth with the support of the Stellarium application. Scientific processes are centered on the ability to obtain, interpret, and act on evidence of the phenomenon of changing seasons on earth in five scientific processes, namely recognizing scientific questions, identifying evidence, drawing conclusions, communicating conclusions, and demonstrating scientific understanding. Scientific context can be bridged through ethnoastronomy related to seasonal changes by studying the regional calendar/student residence, for example, Pranatamangsa. Students' astronomical learning progress can be defined by the increasing sophistication of their scientific literacy skills. An ethnoastronomical learning progression (eALP) framework has been developed and discussed in this paper.
