Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is an important indicator in improving public health. Socioeconomic factors are believed to influence health behavior patterns, particularly in heterogeneous urban communities. This study aims to determine the relationship between socioeconomic status and PHBS in urban communities. The research method used was an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 120 households was selected using purposive sampling in urban areas. The research instrument was a questionnaire measuring socioeconomic status (education, occupation, and income) and PHBS. Data analysis used the Chi-Square test. The results showed a significant relationship between socioeconomic status and PHBS (p < 0.05). It was concluded that the better a person's socioeconomic status, the more likely they are to implement PHBS in their daily lives. These findings are expected to form the basis for community-based health intervention programs in urban areas.

Local wisdom is a form of traditional knowledge passed down from generation to generation and influences traditional healing practices in the community. Despite the rapid development of modern medicine, the majority of people still use traditional medicine based on their belief in local culture and wisdom. This study aims to determine the influence of local wisdom on traditional healing practices in the community. The research method used was an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 100 respondents was drawn using purposive sampling from communities still actively using traditional medicine. Data were collected using questionnaires and in-depth interviews, then analyzed using logistic regression. The results showed a significant influence of local wisdom on traditional healing practices (p < 0.05). Local wisdom influences people's perspectives on choosing treatments, from the use of herbal concoctions to the practice of healing rituals. This study emphasizes the importance of understanding local culture as a basis for developing health services oriented towards local wisdom.

Patient adherence to therapy is a crucial factor in the successful management of Diabetes Mellitus (DM). However, non-adherence remains a major challenge, leading to increased complications and treatment costs. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of pharmacist counseling in reducing non-adherence to therapy in patients with type 2 DM. The study design used a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test approach without a control group. The sample consisted of 50 DM patients undergoing oral therapy at Community Health Center X. Compliance was measured using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) questionnaire. The results showed a significant increase in patient adherence after receiving pharmacist counseling (p < 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that pharmacist counseling is effective in reducing non-adherence to Diabetes Mellitus therapy and should be implemented routinely in clinical pharmacy services.

Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains one of the most serious public health problems in Indonesia, particularly in coastal areas where environmental conditions are favorable for the breeding of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Low levels of community awareness and preventive behavior often contribute to the persistence of dengue cases. Health education is one of the community nursing interventions that can improve knowledge, attitudes, and preventive practices. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of health education on dengue fever prevention behavior among communities living in coastal areas. Methods: This research used a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest–posttest approach. The sample consisted of 40 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Health education about dengue prevention was delivered through lectures and leaflets for 60 minutes. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire covering knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to dengue prevention. Data analysis was performed using a paired sample t-test to compare the mean scores before and after the intervention. Results: The findings showed a significant improvement in dengue prevention behavior after health education. The mean score increased from 65.7 before the intervention to 82.4 after the intervention. Statistical analysis yielded a p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of health education on dengue prevention behavior. The largest improvement occurred in the knowledge aspect, followed by attitudes and practices. Conclusion: Health education effectively improves dengue fever prevention behavior among coastal communities. It enhances community knowledge, shapes positive attitudes, and encourages preventive actions such as draining water containers, closing water storage, and using mosquito repellents. Community nurses are encouraged to conduct regular and continuous health education programs to reduce dengue incidence in coastal regions.

Decreased physical and psychological abilities in the elderly often lead to a decreased level of independence in performing daily activities. Group activity therapy (GAT) is a nursing intervention aimed at improving the social, psychological, and independence abilities of the elderly through collaborative activities. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of group activity therapy in increasing the independence of the elderly. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, one-group design. The population in this study was all elderly people in nursing homes, with a sample of 30 people selected using a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was an independence observation sheet based on the Katz Index of Independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADL). Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed a significant difference between the level of independence before and after group activity therapy (p = 0.000 < 0.05). Conclusion: Group activity therapy is effective in increasing the independence of the elderly. This intervention is recommended as a routine activity program in nursing homes and community settings.

Diarrheal disease remains a public health problem with a high prevalence in Indonesia, particularly in environments with poor hygiene and sanitation practices. Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) plays a crucial role in preventing diarrhea through handwashing, hygienic food preparation, and good environmental sanitation. This study aims to analyze the relationship between PHBS behavior and the incidence of diarrhea in the community. The study used a cross-sectional study design, with a sample of 100 households in District X selected using cluster random sampling. Data were collected through PHBS questionnaires, home sanitation observations, and medical records or interviews regarding diarrheal episodes in the past month. Data analysis used the Chi-square test to determine the relationship between variables. The results showed that families with good PHBS behaviors had a lower incidence of diarrhea than families with poor PHBS behaviors (p = 0.002; OR = 0.35). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between PHBS behaviors and the incidence of diarrhea in the community. Education and health promotion related to PHBS are crucial for reducing the prevalence of diarrhea.

Therapeutic communication is a crucial component in the implementation of nursing care, aiming to foster a trusting relationship between nurses and patients. Effective implementation of therapeutic communication in inpatient wards is believed to improve patient understanding of their health condition, reduce anxiety, and create a more positive care experience. This study aims to determine the level of nurses' implementation of therapeutic communication and analyze its impact on patient satisfaction in inpatient wards. The study design used a quantitative descriptive approach with accidental sampling technique, involving 80 patients as respondents. The research instrument was a questionnaire that assessed three aspects of therapeutic communication (orientation, working, and termination phases) and patient satisfaction levels. The results showed that nurses' implementation of therapeutic communication was in the good category (73.7%), while patient satisfaction was in the high category (70%). Correlation analysis confirmed a significant positive relationship between therapeutic communication and patient satisfaction. These findings indicate that therapeutic communication plays a crucial role in improving the quality of nursing care, necessitating ongoing training for nurses to maintain and develop effective communication skills.

Preoperative anxiety is a common psychological response experienced by patients undergoing surgical procedures, and this condition can affect physiological stability as well as the overall recovery process. Family social support and nurses’ communication style are two critical factors that play a significant role in reducing such anxiety. This study aims to analyze the influence of family social support and nurses’ communication style on the level of preoperative anxiety among patients. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational analytic method and logistic regression analysis. The sample consisted of 74 respondents undergoing elective surgery, selected through incidental sampling. The findings revealed that family social support had a significant effect on preoperative anxiety (p = 0,004; Estimate = 3.75), and nurses’ communication style also demonstrated a significant influence (p = 0.015; Estimate = 3.21). These results indicate that better family support and more effective communication styles used by nurses are associated with lower levels of preoperative anxiety. This study underscores the importance of family involvement and nurses’ therapeutic communication skills as integral components of preoperative nursing interventions. The implementation of empathetic, clear, and informative communication strategies, along with structured family education, is recommended to enhance patients’ psychological comfort.
