Abstract

Physics learning often faces challenges in visualizing abstract concepts such as electromagnetic waves, especially ultraviolet (UV) light. This research aims to develop and test the feasibility of Physics Parameter Monitoring System (PPMs) of UV based on IoT as a medium for skin cancer education. The system consists of GUVA-S12SD sensor, DHT11, Wemos D1 ESP8266, and Blynk platform for real-time data visualization. The research used the Research and Development (R&D) method of the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The feasibility test by experts showed that the LKPD scored 85.25% and the UV PPMs 80.75%, both in the very feasible category. Implementation on class XI students increased active participation (80%) and concept understanding (up 15%). The results showed that PPMs UV can be used in interactive learning, helping students understand the relationship between UV rays and skin cancer risk, and developing data analysis skills. However, limitations such as limited research coverage, short trial duration, and reliance on the paid Blynk platform potentially hinder accessibility. Therefore, further development could include improving the design of the tool, testing on a wider scale, and integrating auto-upgrading and data storage features to make it more effective in learning and environmental monitoring.

Abstract

Efficient water management is becoming increasingly important due to the increasing demand for water. One of the growing solutions is the implementation of an automatic water filling system that utilizes ultrasonic sensor technology and microcontrollers. The process begins with sensor design and testing, as well as calibration of the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to improve the accuracy of water level measurement. The sensor works by measuring the distance between the sensor and the water surface and then sending the data to the Arduino Uno microcontroller. The microcontroller controls the work of the water pump based on the predetermined upper limit of water. The results show that the system can control water filling automatically. To improve performance, optimization is done by using a water pump, relay, buzzer and several LEDs that will work automatically depending on the water level conditions. Buzzer and three LEDs with different colors act as water level indicators. This automatic water filling system can work optimally with high accuracy and good efficiency in controlling the water level. This research can be further developed with several software simulations for various measurements and on a larger scale.

Abstract

A study was conducted to determine (1) the Improvement of students' learning outcomes in the material of motion of objects, and (2) the influence of problem-based learning models on learning outcomes of physics concepts. The type of research used was quantitative using one group pre-test and post-test design. The population in this study were students of class VII A at SMP YPK Diaspora Kotaraja, with a sample of 30 students. In this method, teaching and learning activities began with a pre-test then given treatment using a problem-based learning model, and then at the end of the learning activity a post-test was given. The instruments used in collecting data were questionnaires and objective tests. The data analysis technique used the n-gain test and regression test. The results obtained from this study were: (1) the results of the N-gain test comparing the average pretest-posttest so that the N-gain score was 0.63, included in the moderate category. This means that there was an increase in students' learning outcomes. (2) the results of the regression test with a significant value of 0.004 <0.05. It is concluded that the problem-based learning model has a significant influence on improving learning outcomes

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of air temperature, air humidity, and air pressure on rainfall, both individually and simultaneously. The method applied is multiple linear regression, with secondary data for 5 years from 2019 to 2023. The results showed that air humidity, air pressure, and minimum air temperature have a positive influence on rainfall, while maximum air temperature has a negative influence. Simultaneously air humidity, air pressure, minimum temperature, and maximum temperature together have a significant effect on rainfall by 55,6%. However, artially, only the minimum air temperature has a significant effect, while the variables of maximum air temperature, air humidity, and air pressure do not show a significant effect.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics and feasibility of Physics Parameter Monitoring System (PPMs) media on Temperature Heat material to analyze the weather. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4-D development model. The stages of the 4-D model consist of 4 stages, namely the define stage, design stage, develop stage, and disseminate stage. The subjects of this study consisted of an expert validation and a limited trial to 20 students who had not learned the material of Heat Temperature. The results of expert validation of teaching aids obtained a score of 87%. The results of expert validation of LKPD obtained a value of 82%. The assessment results from students as users amounted to 83.6%. The PPMs media on temperature and heat material that has been developed shows its suitability for use in learning.

Abstract

The use of media in learning should be able to facilitate the diverse learning needs of students. This study aims to determine the feasibility of developing interactive learning multimedia based on google sites on Archimedes' law material and to determine the practicality of developing interactive learning multimedia based on google sites on Archimedes' law material. This study uses the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. With interactive learning multimedia based on google sites as the product being developed. Observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation are used as data collection techniques. Product validation is carried out by a material expert validator and a media expert validator, each of whom is one person and uses Likert scale criteria as a method of analysis on each validation sheet. Practicality is calculated from the responses of 24 grade IX students of SMP Angkasa Kupang on the practicality questionnaire during the product trial. The results in this study obtained a value of 97.92% by material experts and were stated very valid, 84.1% by media experts and were stated very valid, and the product trial obtained 87.06% with a very practical category.

Abstract

In the learning process, teachers need to provide learning resources that can increase students' interest in learning. The learning resources that are widely used today are textbooks provided at school and also e-books given by teachers to students for independent learning at home. However, textbooks and e-books have exactly the same appearance and are static, giving the impression of being less attractive. The purpose of this study was to produce an e-module assisted by liveworksheets that is valid and effective in increasing the interest in learning of class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Kupang. The development model used in this study is the ADDIE model (design, development, implementation, evaluation). At the analysis stage, it was found that students need learning resources that can increase interest in learning, so at the development stage the researcher developed an e-module assisted by liveworksheets while simultaneously conducting a validity test. Furthermore, at the implementation stage, an effectiveness test was carried out by class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Kupang. This states that the e-module assisted by liveworksheets is valid and effective in increasing students' interest in learning.

Abstract

Water pollution caused by industrial activities, particularly by heavy metals and non-biodegradable dyes, has become an increasingly serious issue. Adsorption using activated carbon is an effective, economical, and simple solution. Local bamboo such as Schizostachyum sp. from Balikpapan holds potential as a sustainable and low-cost raw material for activated carbon. This study examines the optimal production parameters by analyzing the material properties and adsorption performance. The methods used include the carbonization and activation of Schizostachyum sp. bamboo, crystal structure characterization using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), surface morphology analysis using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and the evaluation of heavy metal adsorption efficiency using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). The results showed a very high adsorption efficiency, with lead and cadmium removal exceeding 97%, demonstrating its potential as a non-toxic adsorbent.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of the UTM Geo Map application as a physics learning media to understand the concept of slope. The research uses a qualitative approach with subjects being students from the S1 Science Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Manado for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research consists of five stages: planning, application usage practice, data collection, data analysis, and conclusion drawing. The study shows that the slope analysis between two coordinate points in Universitas Negeri Manado, 1.2666026° N, 124.8826783° E and 1.2730803° N, 124.8904382° E, results in an angle of 3.62°, categorized as a gentle slope. The practice of utilizing UTM Geo Map helps students relate physics theory, particularly the concept of inclined planes, to real geographical phenomena encountered in their surrounding environment. Students can also create contour lines, identify elevations, and observe topographic shapes directly through the application’s features. Student feedback indicates that the learning process becomes more contextual, engaging, and meaningful. The use of geospatial-based technology provides an effective alternative to enrich learning experiences, especially in physics education that requires real visualization of spatial and field concepts.

Abstract

A study has been conducted on the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model based on Jayapura ethnoscience and its influence on students' interest in learning science and mastery of science concepts. The research model used is a quantitative research type with Quasi Experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design type. The population in this study were all students of class VII at SMP Negeri 13 Jayapura, and the sample was class VII A and VII B. The instruments used were questionnaire instruments and science learning outcome evaluation instruments. Data analysis used regression analysis using SPSS 23 and N-Gain analysis The results of the study showed that there was an influence of the application of the CTL learning model based on Jayapura ethnoscience on students' interest in learning science with a significance value of 0.001. Furthermore, it was found that the application of the Jayapura ethnoscience-based CTL model was proven to increase students' mastery of concepts in the material on the structure and layers of the earth, an increase in N-gain of 0.62 (medium category) was found in the experimental group, higher than in the control class with an N-gain of 0.13 (low category).
